Fall Birthday a Comin...Some Orange, Green & Blue

I have a Family Members Birthday coming up and I thought this could be used to set on an easel or hung on a hook to add to the fall decor.  Uusally my tags are finished on both sides, one side to display and the reverse with the words for the occasion. My tag today was made by using a Mat Board distressed with TH distressing tool and distress inks, some old patterned beige fabric and patterned paper from My Minds Eye a top of that,  top with a Felt Homemade Flower,with an old button in the center, some scraps of trim with all the beads to the right, a  Sizzix Leaf Die cut from TH Grungepaper, Distressed with inks of Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Vintage Photo, a Spellbinders Long Classic Scalloped Rectangle, stamped with Sentiment (a garage sale find) Card Stock Pleated with Scor Pal , the little blue checkered bow is from a collection of Making Memories, a charm added to a green fiber, TH Journaling Ticket, several colored fibers at the top of tag.
The back was finished with Senitment from Stampabilities, and Patterned My Minds Eye Papers.

The Iowa weather has really cooled off..in the 50's...so it's sweatshirt weather and time to get out the varieties of hot chocolate or apple cider brewing.  Lets hope the week ahead blesses us with more than what we went thru last week.  Just for sanity sake....
2 Days away from my husband combining his bean fields,  a wind and heavy hail storm came and destroyed one field and left much of nothing in the others.  We are finding out more and more neighbors fields around us were also hit hard.  Many  also lost trees and had building damage.

Farming is a Gamble, day to day, survival depends on mother nature.  There are Farm Programs to help but with any Government Program a lot of waiting, paperwork and down to the end there will be some little gletch that won't quailify this ONE certain stiuplation...so you pull up your boot straps and go on..because you love the land and what you do.
  When the Grain Prices go up, so does the next years rent,  seed sales, equipment, and the BIG gas and chemical gouge.  When the Grain Prices go down, NONE of these revert back to lowering prices. We keep our faith, and are thankful for what we have, "someone else always has it worse". 

Now that that is off my chest, I'm off to bigger and better things....lunch and a little crafting, trying out a few stichery projects and maybe going for a drive in the country, with a stop for some homemade pizza later.  Enjoy your week ahead and thanks for stopping by.

A Sunday Card

A Sympathy Card is in Order. 

My black and white cardstock was Embossed with Cuttlebugs Argyle. The Copper Metallic is DCWV, Spellbinders Cross Collection, Scalloped and Plain Circles.

For the inside I used the Hero Arts Sentiment with the Spellbinders Wonky Squares and some copper trim from Hobby Lobby.

The Everything Tag & I'm Celebrating..and Distressing

My "TAG" today was made for many Challenges. I started with a piece of white cardboard, distressed it with tearing layers off and using the Ranger Distress Inks, Peeled Paint, Barn Door,and Tea Dye. I made the"Grunge Flowers" with Tim Holtz's Grunge Paper, cut out with  Sizzex Nested Flowers and a #3 Sixxlits, they were the size I needed here, distressed with the Barn Door Red, some Antique Linen.

The Leaves were made with the Spellbinders Assorted Leaves Die from Colored Paper, even some old sheet music paper and distressed.The bottom leave was distressed with Pine Needle.  I used the TH Distree Applicator, his Memo Pin at the Top with 2 wooden beads. The Adage Ticket "Play" from TH idea-ology book.
The "Note" Stamp was a garage sale find, Memento Brown and the Spellbinders Label Die. The Fibers, Stick Pins, Pearls, "Clear Button and Bead" are from my little Treasure Chest of Oddities.  I also used a Paper Piercer on the Edges.
The Old Sheet Music is really "OLD"..in an auction box I purchased sometime ago.

Happy Birthday Wishes

Cuttlebug Challenges  Be Inspired #100 It's 2 Years so a   Happy Birthday Card (with Cuttlebugs' Candles)
Practical Scrappers  Use White/Color Core Cardstock, sanded, embossed, and labeled it Birthday!!!!

I used Cuttlebugs "Birthday Wishes" Embossing Folder which gave me the Candles, popping out after I sanded them, also Cuttlebugs "Swiss Dots" sanded on the Purple, (both papers would be the White Color CoreStock) a Martha Stewart Border Punch, Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle, with Vivid Purple Ink,on the Sentiment I purchased at a garage sale. The Bow, made with my Bow Easy, and a few things from the Treasure Chest...the color combo was for a Challenge that Expired and I missed it..oh well..I always love to have cards on hand in an array of color.

I love Purple so this was a fun card for me to make. I used the Penny Black Stamp from the "Flower Gallery" set, colored with Atyou Spica pen set, my Big Shot for the Spellbinders
Pendants set "Lotus" which also gave me the scalloped border, Petite Scalloped Circles Small & the Small Oval  for my garage sale Sentiment.. I added the "5" Sparkles to the bottom and a Bow made with the Bow Easy..(love that thing)...

I love to have on hand a few cards to quick send to friends, especially the elderly ones who still "love to get mail".  Sometimes I think it sad so much is done on Facebook and in Emails and the little personal creative touch is GONE.. (but so is the saving of this card and that card all through the years).. ohhhhh..I have sooooooooooo many stashed away..its usually a "Snowy Day" project to glance through and remember all the fun people I've had in my life.

My card is a Criss Cross, made with the help of my Scor Pal,for the inside pullup tag, I used the Big Shot with the Spellbinders Labels 10,  1/2 of the Fancy Tag die on top, with a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing folders D'Vine Swirls,and Swiss Dots.  I used the Fleur DE Lis Die on the opening, EK Success Wave Flourish Punch, the Paper Studio Flower Punch (3 sizes), Bow Easy for the Bow and Pearls & Sparkle from my stash.

Colors Light & Bright

One of those nights, woke up thinking of these colors & my Cosmo Cricket Papers and just couldn't get back to sleep.

I was excited to use my new Spellbinders Wonky Squares, Embossed the card with Cuttlebug's Polka Dots, Cut the Cosmo Cricket Papers, added their Flowers & a Simple Bow and back to bed I went. Whew..sometimes you just don't get to sit and look at the beautiful view as in this picture.

So this morning, I'm off to other things.Taking advantage of a little shopping trip for some new Fall Papers,(while my husband went to a farm sale),but will have to take down my flags and shut the windows seems the Wicked Wind has came to visit.

the "Soar" ticket (New) from T.H. Adage Tickets, Spellbinders Scalloped Circles, layered, crunched to make the Flower,
the Plane (New) from Imaginisce, and use of an (Old) Sparkle Pen on it.
The rest are Ribbon, Fibers, Curled Covered Wire, & Scraps from my Oddities Stash..(Old)

Will set the Tag aside and mail it off to my son when he leaves for his next plane trip, hopefully within the US and not for a very long stay.

From the sounds outside, my hubby is getting the big green equipment ready for Fall Harvest. The yard is full of Wagons, Tractors, the Combine, for Corn & Beans..this means grease, oil, dirty clothes...and a tired body tonight...but he loves every minute of being busy. Like a little kid in a toy shop..
For me it means thinking of ideas for packing "Yummy Lunches", being ready to be up Very Early and to "BE HERE" to haul him  "To & Fro"  one site to the other. Praying for his safety and Thanking God we have a Wonderful Crop this year.  We were on the EDGE of all the Bad Storms, so are Very Fortunate to have missed the Hail, Heavy Rains, and Hard Winds.

Kinda Fallish...and a few GOOD CHALLENGES to put it all together.

And you gotta love the DT creations using this theme. Totally Awesome. 

My creation was done with a lot of items I have had on hand. The base was from a Goodwill store, who must have aquired a LOT of framing & matting pieces as a donation, but I just had many uses for these so bought lots of different colors. Already shaped and ready to use for little or nothing.
Topped off with the Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Wild Honey, Pine Needles,
Peeled Paint, & Pumice Stone applied with the T.H. Ink Applicator.  A Hero Arts stamp "ArtPrints",  colored with Colored Pencils,the Sentiment  also a "garage sale" find, Inked upon the Spellbinders, "Fancy Tags", Some fibers from my other obsession, and the Tim Holtz Alterations Bigz Die
" Elegant Flourishes" using Grunge Board,(want to do some flowers from the Grunge Paper, but not around here for purchase)  a Lace Doilie, a Flower, Real dried Rose Leaves, Copper Wire, Metal Hearts & Fiskars Black Rain Dots.
This was a fun project, that just kinda fell together for me. Gotta love that.
