It's #691

Good Morning, it's 2 a.m. here once again, too warm to sleep, the air hasn't kicked in as the ceiling fan is running near the thermostat. My only diagnosis so early in the day. Not liking this habit of 2 a m. except on Wednesday !!  

I took a before and after photo of my desk: (it's the day Ms Julia hosts our gathering.)  here's before, and  here I'm upset with yet another T.H. 3D embossing folder and I read the next step in using it Again.  Image is not deep to even use. 

after I unpacked my Hobby Lobby bag !  It was all on close out except 3/4 items. I spent most of the day in our 40 mile away city, just for me. Had a great Taco John's, grilled stuffed taco, never minding the increase in $$$, will it ever end?  

I was excited about the big buttons, I've a couple projects planned, someday I'll share !   Even have dying plans for the crumbled paper.

Hope all is great your way, our weather has been so nice here, and fall is on it's way. Garden is pretty much done and hopefully all repairs are finished for my hubby to be ready for field work in a few more weeks. 

Oh Bailey is up also, was in his hideaway but quickly jumped on top of "His favorite place to observe"  

Thanks for your visits last week, I'll try to do better this week. Kids here went back to school last week and sporting events start this Friday. Along with College football this weekend, one of my favorite sports. ENJOY

Welcome, it' been a whirlwind. But today is the day we share our desks, MS Julia HERE has all the details if you are new to this group. But I'll warn you it is addicting.

Two weeks ago, I shared the little white wood basket with pink items, here's a close up of those fun things inside.

These were last weeks projects finally completed. Rolodex cards with Pink theme. I share on Instagram mostly, it seems quicker and easier than the blog. 

I hope you are all doing well.  We are,  spent our 17th Wedding Anniversary on a little trip to the far Western corner of Iowa to visit a new Casino.  We needed a break, kids were on vacation and hubby will soon be in the field.  We've had a funeral last week of a friend (67) and word that a 2nd cousin (40) died of a heart attack that funeral is this week. Kind of why I've scheduled this post. 

Weather has settled down a bit, still humid, but our air conditioning takes care of that. Just a lot of bad hair days !!! when outdoors.   Just know also that I continue to pray for Ukraine and all of Europe, the news never seems too great.  Oil/Gas, big bucks $$   food $$ $/shortages of common items here.

Well it's been busy around here. Trying to organize more 'stuff'  here are 

2 sweet things I found hiding under my table of sewing machines.

A little wooden sewing box I filled sometime ago to do a Pink Project, and now I don't even know what it was.

And the jar of beautiful colored threads/string.  I have already used a couple of colors on some tags I was making.

The inside divider from liquor bottles, sitting for free at our grocery store. I am making tags from it. A project for muscle cutting. The edges are really uneven, but patience won.  

A doodled flower and prompts from a challenge on Instagram, really found some inspiring things there.  

We were so thankful for a 3.5 inch rainfall Sat/Sun. Things are really greening up and  flowering out. Cooled down somewhat so has been nice with no wind to open the windows. 

I hope you are all doing well, and enjoying all the things you love. Hoping to see the grandkids soon, school will be starting up about the 23rd. Summer came and went quickly. But I love fall weather so I'm ready.

#686 Desk Day AND RAGBRI visits

Welcome, it's 5 a m  here and we have a big day planned. Towns across IOWA are hosting about 18,000 RAGBRI  riders. Bicycles ... and the weather will be perfect.  70's, no wind, and the towns on the pathway are ready to make some money for various organizations.(firemen, churches, city, restaurant/bar, on and on )PortAPoties, Water,   Food, Drinks, Music, Wildness, They have designated towns on the route for overnight, they camp, via motor homes, tents, friends. They come from everywhere. In state, out of state, other states, other countries. Some do it every year

2 small index cards from challenge of drawing flowers on colorful backgrounds , some metal from hubby's shop trying for unusual stencils, and a small black journal started with tissue paper use, and rolodex cards for more fun.  Will be on instagram when time permits.

WOYWW #685

Welcome, thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are all safe and surviving the heat. It's "hot" everywhere. In the high 90's here and all across the USA.

Most of us have air conditioning so don't have to go thru the stress. 

Concern for the animals is high, but hopefully they find shade, and are supplied water. I hope none of you are involved in the fires, seems they are everywhere also. 

My desk:  

getting ready to make some backgrounds and homemade flowers.

Our gas prices are $4.06 near the city I shop 40 miles east, So took a long list and got EVERYTHING I needed at Walmart.  Say what you want but at least they HAVE the products and workers.  I needed a big variety so was home early with the car filled up with cheaper gas. 

Did a fun 1st time video chat with an Art Collage group, was fun to meet up online and share ideas etc.  He grilled a T-bone steak and garden fresh potatoes, and took these 2 delightful photos of a Red Headed Wood Pecker who has taken up summer living here. We are pretty sure there are more than 2, 

We have enjoyed their busyness.  He fills about 3 bird baths with water once or twice a day so we have different birds all day, Wren's are a favorite, (tiny) Doves, Robins, Yellow Finch, Black birds, once in a while Blue Jays. Then with the change of seasons, their are many stopping by as they head to different climates.

Thanks for stopping by,  just realized it's Wednesday, the day we share our workspaces.  Linking up with Stamping Ground and Ms Julia. She keeps us all enjoying visits across our universe. 

Things may be back to NORMAL here, WOW it's been a whirlwind.

I are both feeling so much better, Covid or No Covid it's gone and we are busy.  We were hit with a storm last week, a derecho, with high winds 80mph/rain. We lost trees and 5 wheel borrows full of big branches.

Thankful we did maintain electricity, as temps were humid and HOT afterwards. I did lose internet and yesterday they came and replaced our satellite dish attached to the house. We still have to replace roof edge stripping on the south side.  Some of his corn fields were flattened, so meets with insurance man later this week. 

I was so excited to have yesterday to work some crafty fun.

I also had time to catch up on some free classes offered by Willa Wanders (fodder challenge)  I can't connect to the site right now but it is on Instagram if you are interested  9/10 classes I think  today are prayer flags.  found it   https://willa-workshops.teachable.com/courses/fodder-challenge-2022/lectures/39067703  

I was not able to attend our towns 150th Celebration of 3 days. I've seen many photos and just haven't had time to share internet items.

WOYWW #683

Welcome, it's been awhile, and the list is long on why I've been out of the loop.  Two good reasons I spent 2 trips to southern Iowa to visit family and watch our grand daughter play softball. Season's over with tournaments pending.  One trip we had a free room at a Casino, and winner, winner chicken dinner !  

We've also had several funerals locally of classmates, friends and his special Aunt Loretta. I guess cancer, heart and age all take its tole in time.

The 2 of us are recovering from a nasty head cold (sinuses)(allergies), deep cough,  fatigue, loss of appetite, aches & pains.  Surviving on jello, chicken noodle soup/broth, Gatorade, lots of water, love and grumble soup. 

  I haven't been in my craft area in over 3 weeks, but these photos are from the desk I was last working on:

Hopefully later today I can open some new Wendy Vecchi archival inks and finish  a few small projects sitting for quite some time.  

I also was bidding online auction nearby, 2 adorable 1920's child's dresses

with other pieces of aged fabric, I hope to use in some slow stitching.

But these I would never be able to cut up, hopefully I can find a home for them with a big baby doll or real child for baptism

Good Morning, wee hours here 2 a.m. but I couldn't go back to sleep and for an hour got lots of sorting done, looking for paper "words" for a project and remembered it's WOYWW (info at JULIA'S here) the day we share our desks. 

Each area I have looks like this...incomplete projects.

Weather wise it's been so cool here I haven't been down here much, lack of sunshine, and needed rain, but I made these 2 for the Full deck challenge

We went to a great Mexican restaurant Sunday and the chips and salsa were a God send.  The spices broke up my bronchitis issues and added radishes (hot and spicey !)  this week, have almost got me back to feeling like a real person. 

He brought these beautiful Sweet William from a lot he has in town, too small to farm so  he planted wildflowers there

#678 WOYWW

Good Day to You  no doubt much later for all of you, here it is 10 am  I just somethings were necessary before I made my post, got up late and more sign in issues with getting to post this. So I started laundry, new sheets on the bed. I have been dealing with Bronchitis, it use to be a regular yearly thing, left for the past 10 years, but it's back. 

These are the cards I have received thru yesterday, our mail goes late so there may be more.  Also I cannot rotate this?  3x no luck.  

I sent Spyder's and Chris's with my granddaughter's birthday card. She lives 3 hrs away and has not yet received it. So I hope these 2 cards are on their way .  Our mail here 'sucks'  

My desk, not much time there this week did make a tag and rearranged all my 12x12 papers. Hoping that will eliminate 'looking!'  

We do have a nice day here, went thru storms/40's since last post So hoping a warm up is here for some summer.

WOYWW # 677 ATC's

Welcome, seems my computer went thru some changes, so bear with me. Thank heaven, I have organized PASSWORDS.  NEED THEM EVERYWHERE.   It's another Wednesday to share our space and Ms Julia has a link up HERE to play along.

Was fun to create and coordinate the colors.

I hope all arrive soon and in good condition.  LLJ, yours must have flew straight to Iowa it was in record time. it was here May 21st and I loved your theme. 13 years ! Thankful to all for support, fun and friendship.  Onward we go.. 

I will share photos of one's I receive next week.  And maybe a video upcoming on Instagram of a "Tiny" birthday book for my granddaugher  who is 17 on the 26th. And today the 25th we will celebrate my hubby's birthday. And he has finished planting, after a few breakdowns. And now we are getting much needed rain.  Lots of fun planned !  

I was unable to visit anyone last week, I had company and 2 unexpected funerals  Cherish each day.  Have a fun week and do what you love.

Welcome, it's 3 am and I am not prepared. It's been a hellish week and I am thankful to "Connect" with you on this special occasion year 13 and I am going back but I think I started this in 2011. And have enjoyed every week of our visits.  THANK YOU

IT"S # 675 WOYWW

Good day to All, thanks for stopping by,  Sharing of the desks today, and Ms Julia HERE  @ WOYWW can let you visit many others. We are getting ready for our #13th Year of friendships.

I've too many projects started, 2 new workspaces,  this one is dedicated to drawing Doodle flowers and painting them with Re Inkers, similar to watercolors.  Top left I was doing some fabric weaving.

This area is a little bits of sewing lace, trims etc for some cards/journals of different sizes stacked in that wooden box. I need to pick a theme and get busy. 

But our weather switched, 70 yesterday, (perfect with no wind) my dear Hub is working 12/14 hr days planting corn (about 270 acres) then on to soy beans (about another 225 acres). BUT today is to get 95 and humid. so I turned off the heat, and turned on the air. 

Our first green (Hosta's) plants of the year....it's all late, heavy rains and 30/40 temps too long.  On my adventure out I locked my self out of the house. He replaced a knob on our garage door and it works backwards and locked .  No key, Patio door was locked up tight, and Screen door /main house locked   Screen had NO key so the key I had secured for main house door could be used.  I had my phone to take photos,  so I walked and and spent 2 hrs outside before I called him.  He carries a huge key ring at all times .  We have garage door digital openers but neither worked, He has no time for petty little things right now, so I'll keep quiet and wait. Planting is a full month behind.  Yields will not be good if it isn't in the ground soon.

 I have my ATC's almost ready to mail out, if interested leave a note, So far I've  Julia, LLJ, Twiglet, Wipso     Have a wonderful week, hopefully I can visit. On a mission to get him out to the field.  I'm the runner !  Gas at $4.17  Diesel was $5.39 Truckers are being hit hard.   Avocado's $2.50 each. at one store $2.00 at the other. Heilman's Mayo $8.00 at one store 32 oz,  $6, at one, $4.88 Target, Walmart and Aldi's  I'd say a little price gouging going on.   Baby formula some not available , and lucky to find canned Cat food.   Cherio ~!!!!! ~~~~
