INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Cuttlebug Spot has a Challenge "Independence Day" and you can visit their blog at:
http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com/   Some really great DT inspirations and a prize for this weeks random chosen winner will receive $50.00 gift certificate to shop at Simon Says. Now how good can that be !!!
My entry has used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Stars and Swiss Dots, also the Sizzix BigZ dies Nested Stars,  the Scalloped Oval & Square from EK Success, K&Company Sentiments and Layered Stars, Ribbon from my Stash.

I truly wanted to enter my Reversible Fan that I created yesterday, but I could not believe I did NOT use an Embossing folder, which is hightly unusual for me. The challenge was great, as I always need the Patriotic Cards. My son is in the United States Army, just home Sunday from a
2 1/2 year deployment to South Korea. So I am CELEBRATING!!!!!!!

I have also entered this into the Allsorts Challenge Blog at
Week #58 is EMBOSSING. The very talented DT has some great inspiration and a guest designer Dawny has other goodies happening.
So hop on over and join the fun.

JUSTRITE Honoring U.S.Independence Day

JustRite Friday Challenge #024 has a Sketch:
with use of JustRite stamps and the requirement of a red, white & blue Americana color scheme in honor of the upcoming U.S. Independence Day
The Challenge is one of my favorites, as mentioned before on my blog,  I've a lot of men serving our country who are family or friends.  AND my BIG excitement is that today my Son is on his way home from serving
2 1/2 yrs in South Korea.
Another great excitement is that JustRite is offering an awesome prize.

This week's challenge winner will receive two newly-released 2" square Christmas stamp sets (From Our House & Hearts Come Home) debuted earlier this week, PLUS a 2" Square Wood Stamper!

Honorable Mention winners will each receive a newly-released square Christmas stamp set of their choice!  NOW THAT IS AWESOME...
I would love to win this set as I have very few JustRite stamps, other than having a Lot of their Sentiments. And I Love Christmas. This year especially as ALL of our family will be home. It's been a long time.

You really need to hop over to their blogspot
 http://justritestampers.typepad.com/justrite-inspiration/
and view all the DT really great projects.  The inspiration and excitement will make your day.
My card has the Sentiment from the JustRite "Just A Note Set" , Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Sizzix Big Z Stars, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Stars, Ribbon, Sparkles, Glitter from my stash.  This card was fun to make, as I value the Americana RED, WHITE, & BLUE as part of my Thankfulness of being in a Free Country.

Thanks JustRite for the Challenge and Inspiration. Thanks for stopping by my blogspot. I'm just Waiting for the phone call that he has arrived on American soil.  Thanks to the Men & Women Who Serve Our Country and Their Families for the Sacrifices You All Make.
Have a great weekend. And GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.

Moxie Fab World

I have created this card for the "I Want to Ride My Bicycle Challenge in the Moxie Fab World"  You can participate by going to their blog
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/06/moxie-fab-world-challenge-i-want-to.html  The site is full of ideas, color and it has a way of pumping up the MOJO...
I love the peacefulness a bicycle can offer the rider. The beauty  & sounds of nature, the adventure of getting away, the peace of mind it can offer.
Most times it helps with firming of the old body and the relief of some stress. And who doesn't want to take advantage of that?
For my card I have used the Inkadinkado Bicylce Stamp, used the Spica to color it, Pixie Expressions for the Sentiment, Martha Stewart Leaf & Grass punches, my Big Shop with the Spellbinders Labels 10, Mega Ovals, Scalloped Rectangle, Sizzix Embossing Folders Dashes, & Wedding 2.
My flowers were made from the Paper Studio Flower Punching of an old map, which is also in the background.
Was a fun card to make.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a great week. Our storms have left so off to ENJOY a RIDE.

Guys/Fathers/Masculine

My card is for my Father. He will be 88yrs old and on Sunday married 65yrs to my wonderful Mother. I am so very fortunate at my age to have "Both" of my parents.
My dad was a farmer while I grew up, and in the late 1930's thru the 1960's he had a Dance Band. Travelled all over Iowa with a group who played the "Old Time Music"  Dad was the singer, played clarinet, alto & tenor Saxophone. So his card is kind of a reminder of the "Good Ole Days"

My card is a Reversible Tag made from Cardboard, Fibers from my Stash. Scalloped Punch, Flower Punch, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, and Ink, Musical Stickers by Karen Foster, Sentiment from Verve.

And down deep I know he'd just LOVE to still be doing it all "Like the Good Old Days" !!!!!!!!
