WOYWW 778

Welcome, I started the following info 2 days ago and wanted to share with you. We've been thru 2 days of weather issues.  Our area is safe, had heavy rains and lots of water standing, but parts of Iowa and Nebraska had bad destruction with tornados.  Took me about an hour to get my computer up, electricity out for a very short time, but connections lost could not be reconnected easily.

More info about our Wednesday desks  on Mr. Linky  HERE at STAMPING GROUND BLOG

Welcome, Sharing some info on mail in all of  USA. getting ready for our ATC exchange.

With all the mail issues in the USA  here is some help.  No SQUARE envelopes. extra fees for you  and also at the receiving end.   No TINY envelopes they get lost in processing  IT took mail from Iowa to ge Arizona over 20 days to arrive ............8 days within the State mail.   lack of full time help, I have at least 4 xmas cards never arriving 2 within the state and 2 Easter cards. SO I AM FRUSTRATED.

Sizes for Letters

You probably have a picture in your mind of what a "letter" is. Possibly you're using a standard No. 10 envelope for your letter, so that's easy to picture. However, if you decide to create a mailpiece with its own special envelope or if you are designing a piece that will be folded to letter-size, be sure to keep in mind the following size requirements for letters:

DimensionMinimumMaximum
Height3-1/2 inches6-1/8 inches
Length5 inches11-1/2 inches
Thickness0.007 inch1/4 inch
To be eligible for mailing at the price for letters, a piece must be:
  • Rectangular
  • At least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inch thick.
  • No more than 6-1/8 inches high x 11-1/2 inches long x 1/4 inch thick.

First-Class Mail letters that have one or more nonmachinable characteristics will pay a nonmachinable surcharge. Customers can be unpleasantly surprised that they must pay extra postage when, for example, they mail a square greeting card. The Postal Service charges extra postage because mailpieces that are rigid, square, or unusually shaped, often jam postal equipment and are difficult to process. This costs the Postal Service time and money—and may also damage your mailpiece.

Very little  desk time, tried to find Graduation rubber stamps as that's what is next around here.

My DIL came for a Friday night stay as she has a Home Decor business from her home making wood items  Was so fun to have her visit and see all her great makes at a Market to Market show in a town about 20 miles away on Saturday  .  They live about 3 hrs away from our home so she had lots of travel time and setting up for a few hours, Was a long hard day for her.  But my hubby and I enjoyed our time browsing around had having her here.

Hope you all are doing well,  Not sure what my day will be like, Dentist appt early and a list.

#776 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Welcome and I missed you last week, it was a fast one. Something everyday and I've not caught up.  The day we share our desks thru Mr. Linky at Ms. Julia's Blog

Besides computer glitches, phones changing  set up I'm behind. Mostly with getting ready for family visitors in a few weeks and then FINGERS CROSSED. Military family headed back to USA.  (hoping the mess with destructive countries it doesn't change things) XXX

I love  area on line auctions and found some real treasures. But all the magical ideas in this head of mine can't keep up. I scored LOTS of FUN things and hope to share if I can transfer ALL the Photos soon.
My desk: (the reason for the post ! )   Making some clusters from scraps on a tiny table
I ended up scrapping the t.P. rolls idea for a journal...several came apart at the folds. But I did some stitching on a few pieces ...Seems I was into 'Tiny" creations on what little time I had to have fun.
And I cut up some tattered doilies and tea dyed them. The top is crumbled paper I didn't get pressed out in time, so will re wet it and try again.
Well Mr. Hub, is off to the field, worked grown 2 days and now planting corn. Rain is predicted  WE had terrible high winds So he cleaned up the mess of broken branches and this big limb.  With the temps of 80 I want to clean our garage...so much stacked through winter and I am sorting and maybe doing an auction on the stacks I don't use. It's a 3 stall so It's a big challenge !!!   maybe photos next week.
Wishing you all the best,

#774 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Welcome It's the Day we share our favorite works....from our desks, tables, lap!
Anyone can join up thru Ms. Julia's blog HERE

Spent some time organizing My dies
My desk:
I've saved a few toiletpaper rolls and clipped them together to flatten edges.
I want to make a little cardboard journal and thought this size would be good. Hope I can share a finished one next week  !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I also organized my cardboard.....lots of different sizes and tired of having piles of everything on my floor. This wooden organizer has been in the store room forever.
I have to spend sometime making my 2 Germany granddaughters birthday cards. AND I need to start making a few weeks ahead ....... I hate deadlines.
The one thing I don't enjoy is making flat ATC's/Cards etc but Mail is so messed up layers don't work so well anymore from our USPS.
You all have a wonderful week, Hope you have some nice weather and sunshine.
It's suppose to be here later in the week.
