WOYWW #330

Oh so nice to have you visit.  It is a quickly went the week Wednesday. The day we share our workspaces, hosted by lovely Julia at STAMPING GROUND  and you can visit and partake. She has all the info on her blog.

Life is wild here. Hubby is in the field between rains. Don't have a clue when he's here or there, if I need to prepare lunch, supper or can be gone. I love being at home but just seems so many other things are happening for me to be gone.

I did have time to set up my new sewing machine...so far has been pretty simple. When in doubt I visit YouTube. And hoping I can use some of the many new fun stitches it offers. It no doubt had more than I need, but the price was so much better with the carrying case and extra's than the simpler model I just went for it.

I also have been creating a few cards, in a before post and want to start with some Halloween cards for grands after this post.

Took an inventory of my distress inks, and stamp pads. Trying to stay away from duplicates!
AND
To the right of me I have some fall things gathered.
Just seems the holidays come and go so quickly.

Wishing you all a very Happy WOYWW. Thanks for stopping by

Catching Up

Thanks for stopping by, I am trying to catch up on postings from a few weeks ago. We were here, there and everywhere before he had to be in the fields.  FALL arrived and that means crops are ready.

I made a couple of cards after our vacation.

This one was for a special friend who's sweet sister died unexpectedly from  a heart issue. Such a sad time. She was younger than we are and just enjoying a new home and those special grandkids.
This was for my cousins wife, celebrated her 75th birthday.  I would say she's a YOUNG 75.
She loves Vintage and Lace.
The inside....sometimes I struggle with decorating the inside of the card. This is the card I wanted to finish up on my sewing machine. Well, it ended up with a problem, breaking needles and my repair work couldn't fix it.  So that is when I ordered a new one.  More on that in my next post.

Always appreciate your comments.  Have a wonderful week. It truly is FALL here.

"DRESS UP" ATC Exchange

Welcome and thanks for stopping by.  I've been so behind on posting, as we have been coming and going. But things are settling down, as DH is in the fields doing his crops.

Our ATC swap for August was "Dress Up"  hosted by Kim at  ArtJoyStuff . The ones I sent out are here in case you missed my post     LittleTreasures

These are the ones I received.  I just love these fun swaps and all the gals who participate.

Her packaging was a delight also...lovely layers and loving the shades of Blue. Thank You Maggie

Sweet colorful packaging for this cute little image..Girl Stuff fancy and frilly ! Thank You Jane

I just adore this little girl image. So many fun embellishments and pretty laces. Thank You Pam

I was so saddened when Kim told us she will be discontinuing the SWAPS after the Linen & Lace coming up.  I totally understand, as life just gets busy and one goes on to other interests and needs.
Thank You so much Kim...for the fun, the making of new friends all these years and giving me the MoJo of creating the "Little Treasures" I've so much enjoyed.

Have a wonderful weekend. It is truly been a fun and busy fall here.

WOYWW #329

Welcome it is  another WOYW Wednesday.  How time flies. I still haven't gotten my blog updated from all the events we have had going on.   But Julia at the STAMPING GROUND has been our host on Wednesday's and gives us the opportunity to share our workspaces.

Just a few things: some fall fabric I found on sale, fabric markers and some new tape. I pretty much cleared away the clutter from making  some ATC's for our next exchange.
Last weeks ironing board is still standing with the mess I created from making the Vintage birthday card  that is posted just below. I ended up gluing fabric and hand stitching most of it. And my new sewing machine arrived today. Will post more on that later. Have been too busy to unpack it.

Our tomatoes are slowing turning, and I had enough to make Salsa and Juice this morning. My DH started in with his field work. So I'll be at home a lot more. which is fine by me.
May you all have a wonderful week and enjoy the great outdoors.  We are having a beautiful fall.
Thanks for visiting.

SIMPLY NEUTRAL TUESDAY #3

Welcome, I'm so glad you stopped by.  It's been a really busy week. So busy I missed the #2 event by an hour.  Wen at APPLEAPRICOT is hosting a Simply Neutral Tuesday event.

I made this card for my cousins wife, a good friend who had a 75th Birthday party. She loves old tattered, lace, vintage and Victorian.  I had a plan but my sewing machines (2) had major issues.
So had to finish this with glue and by hand.  My new machine arrived today. So will have to set it up and see how it works!

A little collage in my studio..

And with the season, these 2 little owls are part of a few owls I've collected. 2 different sets of old lace the top is a small runner and the bottom is a circular piece for a round table.

I am caught up with my housework, garden products and laundry. Field work started today for my hubby so I'm on call for food, and changing of field transporting.  So the weeks ahead should be simpler...he had been cramming in day time events away and as we had a lot of fun it put me behind on daily work.  But then dusting, laundry and vacuuming can always wait. ! !

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed all the posted  Neutrals #2, and tried to visit most of the blogs.  It's a fun event.

SMILES ON FRIDAY

Happy Friday !    Had a few fun photos for this "Smiles on Friday" gathering.  Annie at A STITCH IN TIME has a SMILE party on Friday.

A blue ribbon gourd at the last fair of the season

Precious grand daughter turning 4 and wondering why is everyone hollaring "Blow out the Candle"?

And a mothers work displayed in brilliant fashion.  Helen works so hard to entertain and keep a happy home.  Her Filipino food is soooooooooooooo good.  There was also another table with 3 desserts and other fun things.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend.  And remember:  We are ALL so Blessed.

WOYWW #328

Welcome WOYWW friends,  I've missed you all..back from a wonderful vacation. But dealing with a calendar full of events and things to do for fall. Harvest season isn't far off, so my time having fun away will be limited.  All info on WOYWW can be found at Julia's STAMPING GROUND

I spent today trying to revive my 20 yr  old sewing machine. It started making a clankity noise and I can't seem to find the problem. I've tried YouTube and ask others. Repairmen are few and far between this rural area. Some say repair it, it's sturdy and durable, the new ones are like everything else no repair, just disposable.  I've a fabric card to have done very soon and my patience is wearing out.
Using my ironing board as my workspace this week.(..making a fabric card ) I did have a bent needle but still not working.

Spent time away in our nation's capital Washington D C visiting my son and his family. A 4yr old birthday party, visiting the kindergartner's school, eating wonderful Filipino food, being driven around the city by my son seeing the sights.  My husband was in awe.  I lived and worked there for 2 years as my first job. But a lot has changed in 50 years !  Mostly traffic.

I guess no more photos...my computer has an issue with downloading this day... just what I need !! Thanks for stopping by. I always enjoy your visits and comments.  We are having truly lovely fall days.

Simply Neutrals Tuesday

Welcome! I've been missing in blogland for a while. But I decided today I'd like to partake in the first
"Simply Neutrals Tuesday"  hosted by  Wen at  APPLEAPRICOT . Such lovely photos have been shared.

One of my favorite soft music CD's...today is my dad's birthday and he & I played the Sax.
My grandmother's "Sylvia" 's rosary and  a crocheted doll parasol

More of my lace and a very old gravy bowl from my DH family
Another part of my heart collection, a very aged book and a blessed candle nestled in my grandmother "Anne's candle holder
A heart shape dish holding a gold locket and pearls beside the 2 Sisters by Willow Tree

One of my collectible dolls and some special dried roses, tucked in a heart shaped wooden dish and a little china doll.

I was named after my 2 grandmothers.  Thus  Sylvia Ann....... hope you enjoyed the photos. I'm totally not the photographer/display artist many are, but I'm learning.  Any tips would be appreciated.

If you would like to see more, or become involved with  Simply Neutral Tuesday, there is still time to hop over to Wen's blog and partake.  And Thank You Wen it's been a fun event for the start of fall here in the states.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful Sunday

DRESS UP---ATC 's for August

Welcome, another month flew by and our ATC's have been mailed.  Kimberly hosts a wonderful exchange each month and you can join in and see more ATC's on her blog ArtJoyStuff.
August theme was "Dress Up".  I had so many ideas for this but settled on  Sweet "Dolly"

My envelope:
My ATC's  I've had these little images a long time.(on a garland) but  I also have a couple of sweet books  "Only a Doll" and "Dolly in Town"  that have this little vintage doll in it.

My individual photos didn't turn out very well and these are not the best. You can enlarge by clicking on the photo and see more details.

September's ATC exchange is posted on my side bar.  "Linen & Lace"  Another fun theme.

Thanks for stopping by, I'll have some great news next post so stay tuned. Have a great week.
