Fun with Primary Colors

I don't know why but whenever I see "Primary Colors" I always think of little kids. Their rooms, their books, their toys, their clothes, these colors are learning colors and they just make them happy!!  Maybe I should redecorate for more energy.

Over at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #72 it is Primary Colors. I had fun with this quick and easy card...very mailable and I can use it for either a Birthday or a Get Well card, as I haven't finished it off inside as yet.
Taken with a New Camera

Taken with my Old Camera, much better Color and Definition..Guess I'll have to do some reading up on this.

I used Marvy punches for the different shapes and a fun new embossing folder by Darice. The stamp is a garage sale find and I love it for a kids stamp, energy bound. It is a Creative Beginings product.
I colored "Mathew" with Copics and centered him amongest the colors.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful week.

One Colour

The Challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is use "One Colour"  that's a little tricky but I had fun with the elements I used.  And the Design Team there have displayed some really wonderful inspiration in a variety of ways.

I used Tim Holtz patterned papers with a little distressing on the edges and also his Alterations Die  Caged Bird., I used the Papertrey die for the ticket and also their Sentiment "Hello-- Just a Note".  Made a flower, added some brads to the cage, distressed the twine with Broken China distress ink and added a stick pin with a bead.  Pretty much all a pretty soft aqua blue.

Thanks for stopping by, if you like challenges Simon Says Stamp and Show always has some good ones every Monday.   Have a wonderful week.

A Little Shabby Chic Face

Over at Our Creative Corner "Faces"  is the Focus this week. The Design Team there has some truly inspiring designs for this Challenge.

Taken with a New Camera
Not really the True Colors, will have to do some reading up on this, I guess.

I distressed  an odd shaped mat board and used a Hero Arts stamp "Gracious Lady", colored her   with Copics. I used a Tim Holtz Flourish  diecut with a little brown trim. I truly apoligize for not  knowing where I got this verbage, but it is by Mary Anne Radmacker, "For Tomorrow--Offer        No Answers" it is stored on my computer but I cannot find it. I used a Spellbinders diecut and      distressed  the edges. I used some Vintage Lace and made a stacked flower with an old button for the center. I did add the little metal heart and an old key for some extra hardware.  I used the       Distrees Inks of Peeled Paint and Spice Marmalade throughout.

Taken  with my Old Camera
This one is really the more true colors.
Both were in taken in the same location.
Just another project for me to figure out.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

A Cute Little Recycle

I was so intrigued by  the Heatwarming Vintage  Envelope Challenge, I created this fun little bag.
It started out with this;

A kraft envelope, folding procedures, and a decorative cut at the top. I used a die cut, you could use a decorative scissors, etc.  You can get the directions from a DIY Video that Sandy has posted on her blogspot. After you have created the little bag, you can decorate it for whatever occasion. The DT has several great ideas for inspiration.

After the envelope was shaped into the little kraft bag I used distress ink on the edges, glued some vintage lace on top. I used a tiny clothes pin to hold the black spider on top.

I used the Crafty Secrets Halloween Greetings Set for the Sentiments, Ticket, and the Cute Little Images, some metal copper colored ribbon in the background.  I used a brown button, shaped some wire and a Martha Stewart Bat Punch to create the Bats Flying in a 3D effect. I layered bits of flower shapes for the flower, added a button and some bakers twine.
I'll no doubt put a few favorite candy bars inside, top it with the green shredded tissue paper, I made in our paper shredder.
This was so fun, I love the use of recyling things. And what a quick and easy project for any last minute little gifts.
I found several Challenges that this would qualify for and all of them have some great ideas for our  Halloween and the Fall Season:

WOW it is WOYWW #125

Good day to all of you Julia fans...it's another Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Not familiar, head over to the Stamping Ground and check out what it's all about. You won't regret it.

My working desk...no time for clean up, as I was still working on a project when I had to leave for a family get together for a belated birthday gathering for my younger sister..who if she keeps having birthdays will catch up to me. Was a fun evening with family, food and a Turtle Pie.

The Halloween items will be put away, as I think I am about finished with them. No doubt will do a few Thanksgiving Day items for November 24th. Here in the U.S. it will be our day of thanks.

The little green and pink items are envelopes, really practice sheets made into a paper bag.  All about recyling.  My next post will have a Challenge with one finished and instructions on completing it.

For today, stop by Julia's and enjoy the visiting of some other Crafty people. Our weather has been true blue fall. Spectacular !!!!  Couldn't ask for more. Have a blessed week.

Some of these HAVE to get in the mail, as they go OUT of the USA and one never knows how long they will take to arrive at their destination.

CR84FN40 Color Challenge

I've had some time today to try to be creative. Last week  I saw this Color Challenge at
CR84FN40  and just loved the Red, Brown, Kraft combo.

There are some lovely designs the Design Team has created from these colors. All are so unique.
So hop on over, there is still time to enter.

I used a kraft cardstock and topped it with a pretty pattened paper. Die cut and embossed the red, topped it with a distressed frame, one of the tinyest doilies I had and made a layered flower from some homemade paper.  The dark brown ribbon is on top of a distressed paper doily, with a stick pin and some beads to the side. These colors were so great to work with.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful week ahead.

WOYWW and IT IS #123

First off I have to do 3 CHEERS...HIP, HIP, HOORAY,  HIP, HIP, HOORAY,  HIP,HIP,HOORAY    my DH has finished his harvest in the fields.  Has some tillage work to do and he can get back to     some normal meals and daylight hours.  With that excitement shared,

Hello Everyone, kind of a quick post today, seems I've several medical appts with Mother this week.
So my desk is pretty clean and boring.

Julia over at the Stamping Ground lets us have the fun opportunity to post a picture of
Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  So usually over 100 crafters who like to get creative ideas, peep about other peoples posted work spaces to see Creativity at its best and Productivity at its worst.

I have spent several days cleaning, rearranging and organizing crafty things. The little plastic cups were saved by mother in hopes I'd declutter her space.  I really have used many of them to organize tiny beads, etc into my drawer space. The little green journal was a 10 cent find with hopes to do a small journal. Hopefully I can get some time to do a few Halloween Cards for my grandkids.

Hope  you have time pop over to Julia's and join in the fun. Much needed rain is on its way here, and I will welcome it as I might be able to work in a few hours away with my DH.
Have a wonderful week.

OUR CREATIVE CORNER with Me as GUEST DESIGNER

Flashing Lights, Bells and Whistles, I was so excited when Our Creative Corner chose me as their Guest Designer this week.  Actually, I was a little frightened, how could I measure up to such great talent out there, but with some encouaging words "Practice, Practice, Practice" I thought what the heck, I'll try. Then I can say I    "DONE MY BEST".... and I was honored to be asked.

It was an easy Challenge... A FALL COLOR CHALLENGE and what a beautiful array of colors to work with
My card was quite fun to put together, I tend to do the Shabby, Tattered look so I distressed  the edges, added distress ink to the tattered and torn crimped cardboard, attatched it to a chocolate card stock with a piece of patterened paper scrap, added a couple of brads at the top and a piece of chocolate ric rac below the flower.  I added the sentiment "Autum Greetings".
My old olive leaves were die cut from an old wool sweater I felted.  Then I die cut the aqua flower and crimped it with my crimper, added a cajun craze center, some heavy string and an aqua button for the center.

So if you haven't done so already, please stop by the OUR CREATIVE CORNER BLOGSPOT
and enjoy what the Design Team has to inspire you with this week. Each week they give their best
to offer up some great ideas,  creativity and fun weekly Challenges.

I want to Thank Tui and Linda for their encouraging words. It was a fun experience.
Thanks for stopping by, I always love to read your comments, and enjoy a wonderful weekend.

IT'S #122 WOYWW and My New Finds

Hi Everyone, so glad you stopped by.  It is Julia's day for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday !!
Hop on over to the Stamping Ground  and see what all we do to satisfy our Peeping woes.
She always has something fun, and I have met many new people from all over the world and have enjoyed their inspiration and unique ways.

Suspense from last week is over...here are my new finds delivered and assembled!!

Fortunately this is a 2 piece unit, it is very heavy and when I saw it knew it would be ideal for all my sewing fabric.  My dear husband, picked it up and I had my nephew come to help carry it to our lower level.  The little wooden unit to the left holds most of my thread, and sewing accessories. Easy Peasy!!!

Then a friend called me, they were redoing a quaint little shop and getting rid of this. She called if  I'd be interested in this card stand. It is perfect for my Sizzix dies and some rubber stamps. Last week I had just put them on top of my cutting table in groups of 3, so now they each have a spot and I have filled the other display unit with my clear rubber stamps.  Which has given me more drawer storage.

I am a visual person, and if it is out I'll use it, I hate looking thru things and I forget what I really have if it is stashed away.  My desk...well it has been history for a week or so..piled high with things that need attention.  But never enough time in the day to get everything neat and tidy.
I did make up inventory sheets on all of this as I was organizing it, so that is up to date now too.

I am still cleaning the storage area, I eliminated 5 rubber maids full of fabric with this storage find. And I have sorted many more in hopes of having a garage sale or donating these things I truly don't have room for anymore.

Well enough of my rambling..I need to hop about and see what the world of crafters is doing.
Enjoy the fun and Have a wonderful week.  Thanks for stopping by.
