WOYWW #117 REALLY End of August

Good Morning, it was a sleepless night so here at 4 AM I am contributing to Julia at the Stamping Ground  #117  (116?)  Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday. I don't know if the computer wires got to Julia or what she has #116, I had that last week and she also says to look at her new glass, she loves the color, Well I went to get my glasses as I did not see hers...Oh Well it's too early here for me to be sure but I did find them. Was like one of those puzzles in my monthly magazine, looking for 8 things different in 2 photos. Way too early for me to be doing this!!!  For not really using my desk much, it seems to be changing with things added now and then to be put away later.

The cardstock is a world map, with a paper compass...was trying to find a place to visit!!!!  Not really just couldn't muster up details for a challenge. I have really been cleaning the rest of the area and the large storage area this week.  Putting out "Fall Decor" and enjoying some wonderful outside weather.
This little photo is a $1.00 find at the Prairie Quilters garage sale fund raiser!!! What fun that was. A first time for them and what a huge success. It was donations of mostly quilting supplies, but many tables of odds and ends for other crafts, lots of wonderful crafting books, and some of these old "VINTATE" finds.  Hoping they do it more often.  Their prices were wonderful for a buyers market!!

Hoping to post FarmLand pictures later this week. My husband has the fever...all the machinery is being lined up in the yard for him to start inspection.  I can hardly stand the noise.

Be sure to stop over to  the Stamping Ground and join in the fun, of entering your "Creative Workspace" for us all to enjoy and you can enjoy peeping about everyone else's WOYWW.  I need a cup of Java and will start my visits. Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY WOYWW # ????  .

IT'S DELOVELY

I noticed thru a blog I love to visit Thinking Inking by Debbie Olson that the Cosmo Cricket Blog
is having a Sketch Challenge that Debbie designed.
I always love the Papers from Cosmo Cricket and with this set "DeLovely" I even had some Chip Board pieces.  I stitched the two patterned paper edges and attached them to the card base,  added the Chipboard Border and a few pearls to these tiny flowers. I used a soft varigated fiber and a button that blended well with with the papers to make my bow.  I embossed the 2 plain papers, added a piece of lace that I gathered to form the circle and popped on a Cosmo Cricket Chipboard Flower, and added a pearl to the center of it.  I cut a white banner and used the Senitment with the aqua ink "Have a Great Day", and attached it to the card with a Gold Paper Clip.

I was quite happy with the results. Bright pretty colors and the added lace gives it a feminine touch.
This was a fun Sketch Challenge, and you still have time to enter if you are interested.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your day.

WOYWW #116

Good Morning Peeps!!!   What a Beautiful Day we are having here.
The calm after the storm..weather is really wild all over our country. Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Hail, High Winds.  Our little town had high winds Monday night which called for cleanup of lots of downed trees and many branches.

If you are wondering about WOYWW it is number 116 and a fun way Julia at the Stamping Ground has created that you can list your blogspot, visit others and view lots of fun things and great people.   She has something interesting today  NO PICTURES..well cute little quips about it. Computers are great but sure can give frustrations when we can't get them to work.

I haven't yet went back to challenges or making much, but hope to do so after some encouraging words from a great blogger friend.  My desk has been abandon but the picture shows I FINALLY received my secondhand rubber stamps, after waiting since 7/4.  My laptop is in the black case and the little cigar box....well some fall fun. Guess I'll clean up a bit and organize my fall stamping things and get back to it...

My intentions with the stamps was to make a card for one of the Helicopter Crash victims Aug 6 in Afghanistan,  a U.S. Navy Seal. His body returned home to a town 40 miles east of here but the stamps did not arrive in time. So I found a card with a verse that stated "His Sacrifice will Live on Forever in the Hearts of all Who Cherish Freedom".  1600 attended his services in a little town of  700 approx.  I pray his family will find peace from their loss and know that his sacrifice for our country is in the hearts of many. They can be so very Proud of their son.

Enjoy your WOYWW, have fun and praying you are all safe from the upcoming storms.

WOYWW #115

Hello All,  it should be called WOW...WOYWW...it just comes so quickly each week. If unfamiliar, Julia at the  Stamping Ground posts a blog each Wednesday you can post a link to your tidy, tidy desk or whatever interest you have for all of blogland peepers to visit.   It's a fun way to tax your brain and make a few friends. I love the big window Julia has in front of her desk. The light is awesome.

My desk is the same as last week...empty. I have had NO DESIRE or INTEREST in entering any Challenges or no need for personal cards for a while.  Had 2 rather mind disgusting happenings so best I take a break. But I have kept busy, making Pickles and working with Zucchni from our garden and enjoying our wonderful 70 degree weather.  We need rain bad to keep our farm crops at peak production.

Tag sales rendered me some items (50 cents each)  I plan to work with as fabric projects next week:

All different fabrics, corduroy, denim, searsucker, velvet, taffta, organza. Will keep you posted on the items I create from these little goodies.

My husband bought 2 rusty old trikes at our friends farm sale for $2. And guess what he already has them refurbished.   He has more energy than the Energizer Bunny  in getting things done.

Wants to find little hand grips for this one. Amazing considering it was all pieces.

I think they are totally adorable.  Well thanks for stopping by, hope to visit most all of you this week. Now I'm off to the chiro for a neck, shoulder, and back adjustment. I think it's stress!!!  But best I do it early on, before I can't get out of my chair or turn my head.  Enjoy the week and Do all that you love.

A Late Night WOYWW

Boy oh Boy, since the nice weather has been around, I've kinda disappeared from the blogging world.  So much to catch up on out doors. Today we left at 6AM to travel 2hrs south to a farm sale of items from my friend who died of cancer a few weeks back.  He has a collection of Farmal Tractors    I think about 65 of them dating back to 1930 maybe..about 25 of them and lots of old parts, plows, and farm "Junk"!!!! were sold.
Wonderful day to be outside and enjoy the company of his family and friends.  By next week I will have a picture of the little items I won on the bidding block!!  Back home at 4PM .

Then we had to visit the funeral home for my husbands' 2nd cousins death and visited with many of their family members.  Then to meet my family for pizza and beer to celebrate my mother's 83rd birthday.... it was good to come home and watch the last of the CMA Country Music's 20 Best Men Over the Past 20 Years.   THE #1 WINNER   ( made my day complete)  ALAN JACKSON.  What a performer.  My #1 FAVORITE for a LONG, LONG TIME.

Now on to WOYWW.....Julia at the Stamping Ground  has provided a place to leave your name and let others visit your Workdesk each Wednesday.   Great people and Great fun.   Nothing on my desk for awhile, but these are some little goodies I brought in from the flower garden

The little one in the middle is my PIF from Andria  a few months back, I told her I had a collection of little glass bottles and here they are with a few Zinneas.

A cluster of yellow Viola's  or (Johnny Jump Ups)

And this lonely little shaded Lavender one.

Well it is off to LaLaLand, can hardly keep my eyes open. Hope to visit lots of you tomorrow.  I need a day of rest.  Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your WOYWW visits.  Thanks Julia

Lovely Colors

Hi everyone.  What a lovely day, still hot but seems more tolerable.  My card today was inspired by
The Ribbon Reel Challenge   #7 'Chantilly Lace' Colour Challenge and a lovely photo inspiration:

                                                                     Isn't it divine?

My card has some tatttered edges, a layer of beautiful aqua patterned paper and some stitching on the side. I folded a pink heart doily. I made an aqua lace flower topped it with a dainty pink crochet flower and a tiny aqua ribbon flower for the center. Added a small banner die cut and stamped it  with "You are a Treasure" sentiment.  A bit darker aqua button in the top corner and  a tiny soft pink bow in the bottom corner and a few white pearls scattered about.

I think it is TOTALLY FEMNININE..

Have to play catch up, we have the county fair going on and spent some time there with this beautiful weather it was so fun to be outside. Great food, Great music, Great displays at the floral hall and lots of people to visit with.  Our Grand Niece was chosen Little Miss Princess.
Have a big Racing event there Saturday night with inductees to the Hall of Fame and BIG MONEY for the winners. So will be Lots of Cars in all divisions.

Have a Class Reunion Sunday with all but 4 not able to come, so will be fun to see some "OLD" faces. We are getting right up there.  This will be the 8th grade graduating class of 1960 from our Catholic school.  A new high school was built and it sort of split us apart, but we all try to get together ever so often and look at "THIN" pictures of which are all black and white.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your weekend.

WOYWW #113

WOYWW is a fun little day to peep about other peoples workspaces. Julia at the Stamping Ground
has a list of names as we sign in that you can go visit. Meet new friends, see new creations from all over the world.  It's just what I need today, as my MOJO has totally left the building. So hop on over and see whats happening today. But  Be Careful yesterday she was talking of Christmas maybe she's under heat advisory also. I think there are a LOT of people not thinking right.

We truly need some cooler tempatures here. WOW I can hardly work up energy to do anything.
I started to clean up "My Space" as I couldn't seem to create anything with paper, and working with fabric just wasn't cutting it either.  The only thing I can say for today is I enjoyed my 7AM bike ride.
It was already 80 and humidity was getting bad.  My body is just in SLOW motion.  My attitude sucks. Some of this could be because I am trying to lose weight.. I am a HAPPY camper if I can eat and drink as I please. BUT..I've a class reunion Sunday so...making some sacrifices. Like 2 wks is going to help !!!

But just what do I do with the "Things" I 'm moving around?  Will surely need them and won't be able to find them if I put them someplace else.  When I look at the total area...it all needs to be
changed.  Maybe the "Fall" cleaning bug is here.

Here's a little shelf unit I got at a garage sale for $1.00. When the 3 grandchildren were here they helped sort buttons into the little jars.  My mother was saving these for me and she will be happy to see I really used them.   Dad no doubt would have rather had me bring them back filled with jam!
The oldest  8 yrs said it just wasn't worth $1.00 the last day to finish the project and the other 2 followed suit.  So  I just put the remaining in a few tins..White in one, Dark in one and a mix of colors in the 3rd.  Maybe next trip!!! I'm $3.00  a head.

I just realized, I haven't had any caffeine for quite a while, maybe that is what's next on the agenda.
A big cup of JAVA, an afternoon COKE and an ice cold BEER later tonight. Sounds like a plan.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your visits, it's like going out and about without leaving home.
