It's #156 at WOYWW and the Sharing of ATC's

Julia at the STAMPING GROUND  is having an ATC exchange with those who want to participate with this weeks WOYWW celebrating the 3rd Year of WOYWW. Mine is ready to be mailed upon receiving the address of the one posting after me.

My desk is about the only thing  I can take a photo of in this area
Mostly items I found at a barn sale on Saturday. We had a busy weekend here with the 3 day Memorial Holiday. I love the 7 pc doily above, and the 6 pc on below, I plan to cut each on out separately and use on a fabric project for our fall "Crafty Affair".

I've quite a mess in my crafting room..seems my DH planned to have a friend come to replace our furnace and didn't give me much notice to prepare the area for his visit.  So I have been stashing stuff...in my work area to make it look tidy and give him room to work...I was none too happy about it all.  I had cleaned the upstairs all day so I could spend lots of time creating today, now I have a mess and no doubt the area I cleaned will have to be tidied up again after they haul out all the old stuff.
But life's too short to sweat the small stuff.....da da da da da.. It's just my old body gets tired of lifting and relocating STUFF..

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks to all who left such great comments last week. I was glad to have some time to respond this week.

A Memorial Day THANK YOU

THANKS TO THE VETERANS FOR THE SACRIFICES YOU HAVE MADE

THANKS TO THEIR FAMILIES FOR ALL THE SACRIFICES ENDURED

                                                              GOD BLESS AMERICA

THIS COULD BE MY SON...OR ANY MOTHERS SON WHO SERVES
SAYING A PRAYER OF THANKS,  ASKING FOR BLESSINGS,
THANKING GOD FOR LIFE,  AND PRAYING FOR THOSE HE SAW DIE,

AS A MOTHER I PRAY EVERYDAY FOR THOSE WHO SERVE, THAT THEIR LIFE CAN BE NORMAL, THAT  THEY CAN ENDURE, THAT THEIR PRAYER FOR PEACE CAN BE ANSWERED.   DO NOT FORGET THAT FREEDOM ISN'T FREE.

ENJOYING FREEDOM

I saw this on Pinterest and it truly touched my heart:

We raise her up every morning and we bring her down slow every night We don't let her touch the ground, and we fold her up right. On second thought I do like to brag cause I'm might proud of the Ragged Old Flag--Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash had some great music and when he got his life back on the straight and narrow really did so much for so many.

Tomorrow is Memorial Day here in the US...a website to visit http://www.usmemorialday.org/backgrnd.html
this has a great overview of it and another spot to visit which is the story of  the poppy
http://www.vfw.org/Community/Buddy-Poppy/  and the Poem   IN FLANDER'S FIELD

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.

I truly hope you all fly your flag, bow your head in thanks, and be true to our RED, WHITE and BLUE.

Special Sympathy

Last week a close classmate of mine lost her sister  in an automobile accident. I wanted to spend sometime with her but I had to be gone and was unable to attend  the viewing and the funeral so I made a card for her.

Accepting a loved ones death is never easy. But we have to accept the fact that it is God's
will and that our loved one is going home. This lady brought, laughter and joy to so many.
She lived her life to the fullest, always had a smile and some happy joy to spread.
Now those memories are a treasure, for all of us to cherish.
And I'm sure she's a shining star above looking down upon us still smiling.

Some Black & White

Sometime ago I made my sister a small gift and a card for her birthday.  Thought I'd share them with you today.

"A Classy Cat"

She Loves cats, real and otherwise. Her bathroom has a great "Collection" of a variety of cats. This one is a pincushion. She has little pins for her whiskers, topped upon a spool, which is wrapped in pearls and feathery thread.  I am hoping to make a variety resembling this  for   " A Crafty Affair" , we are having in October.

Thanks for stopping by, hoping your day is fun filled. I'm off to clean my closet, it's a rainy, gloomy day here.
So have to use up some energy before night falls.

It's #155 at WOYWW

Want to join in the fun with Ms. Julia, stop over to her blog the STAMPING GROUND, you'll be amazed at the large group that enjoys showing their workspace. No matter what's there.
Haven't had much time to Create, but sure have had fun sorting and putting away all the "LittleTreasures"
I purchased for a quarter at the Goodwill store on their quarter day while visiting my grandkids.
A wire dress form, little wire shoes, muffin tins, old spoons, some kind of  tiny plastic shapes, baby shoes, burlap strip, hole punch, a couple of antique saucers, a wooden box, a flour sifter, a glass paper weight, some lace, all 25 cents....the oak drawer and the pink case, which hold Zutter tools were another days find.
I'll save the other 2 bags for next weeks post...I haven't gotten pictures taken of that grouping yet.

This is my son Josh the electrician, his 7yr old daughter Camryn, sons Cael 9yrs, and Cash 4yrs.
I am so proud of Josh and his family, he can do it all...cooking, cleaning, laundry, showers, dog chores, to and from school and all their after school sports. And now dealing with building a new home. And he can still manage a smile, a good attitude, and evade having his picture taken.  He's got a lot of resemblance to the golfer Kyle Stanley of which I have a board on Pinterest.   And I thank his wife Juli for the great picture...taken while at an award ceremony for Cami's creation that was chosen to be on display at the Art Museum.  I haven't got to see that yet, but I am sure within the next week I'll have a photo of it.

Well thanks for stopping by, I hope to visit most of you this week, last week was a "little" busy
out of the area and no computer...and Monday I had to be outside, the first day in a long time with no wind.

Can't wait for #156...next week...I've my ATC already....Enjoy

Electronics ! !

Well Friday is my DH birthday.  I had been comparing I Pads, Tablets, Nooks Etc...while in the city visiting my grandkids I spent one day learning about the tech at Best Buy and a few other stores. But Best Buy's salesman was the one who spent the most time helping me.
I ended up with a Asus Transformer Pad and Mobile Dock.

This is very compatible with Google, which we both have been using. It also can use Word, Excel, Publishing and is very light weight (to take with traveling) and wonderfully fast with WI FI hook up.
The keyboard comes off and you can use the pad with the hand touch,  It has 32GB, has a camera and so far has been very user friendly.  This version is just new to the market.

I made a little fabric storage case for it....from some old heavy duty place mats, sewed the two together, padded one side and stitched down the middle, the pad can slip in and then fold up the fabric, yet to put a little tab closure on it.

Now to get my DH to use it.  Let you know how he does in a few weeks.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy  your day

Taking a SHORT Break

I so wanted to post yesterday, but we had a day with NO wind and I took full advantage of being outside.
Got most of my flower beds cleaned, some hosta's relocated. cleaned the patio furniture, and took some things out of my little garden shed.

It's a rustic little building but great for summer storage stuff.  Today we are having Mr. Wind again, and I hope to go out later to water...we've had no rain and it's starting to hurt some the the farmers crops. I want to find a few flowers at a garden center yet and also add a few herbs to the small herb garden, I love the smell from some of them.  And I need some vibrant color.

My "OLD" body  has some sore muscles from bending, stretching and lifting, but it is good exercise. Hope to ride the bike today. After 3 yrs I finally have been able to attach my bike carrier to my car!!!  I watched a video on YouTube.. just couldn't find anyone who could help me. I also hope to tackle the cleaning of our garage.  Wish me luck.

Well have a wonderful sunny day and thanks for stopping by.

LATE for WOYWW #154

I'm late but didn't want to miss this posting...Julia at the  STAMPING GROUND  has this Wednesday blog
that I haven't missed since I have started.... Stop over to her interesting fun..of peeping about other peoples workspaces..

Mine...well just unpacked from a 5 day visit to my son's to help with the 3 wonderful grandkids while their mother was away with her work.  AND my WI FI internet would not work there...what a HUGE disappointment..

A few new pads of paper, some cleaned rubber stamps, some older greeting cards and  lots to be put away.

I've got over 300 emails to clear up, missed my Pinterest, and my Words with Friends. but should be caught up in a day or so...I really enjoyed my visit, saw some old friends, the kids softball, and soccer games, a skit my granddaughter participated in,   pizza out, visits to the ice cream shop, entertaining a Brittany puppy, eating my sons great grill cooking  and after I dropped them off at school, I had lots of time to shop in the city I lived in previous for 30 yrs. It has changed a lot, but I am so happy to be home. Baxter and Bailey,
our 2 cats even helped my unpack.

Thanks for stopping by, hope to make some visits...as the high wind we are having will keep my inside today.

WOYWW #153

Haven't seen much sun since I last posted.. and quite cool here. But can keep busy as Ms. Julia over at the
STAMPING GROUND she will have many more than 150 desks you can view and get some crafty ideas.
Not familiar just pop over, she explains it well and it is fun.

Here are some clear stamps, I'm debating about, a few ideas for some birthdays coming up. A bottle of glue that leaked when tipped over, some walnuts for my hunger pains, and in the left corner a cute little owl and egg made from felted wool by a local gal . I just love her designs. Really haven't made too many paper items.  I however do have ATC's posted below this post from our "April in Paris "  SWAP.

This is an old gateleg table  near my sewing machine and I have been working on some fabric journals, flowers,  sachets and just cutting fabric in sizes and organizing ideas for a possible craft fair, or setting up shop on Zibbet.  I love this table, it's been with me for years, it just folds up and takes up no space when it gets cleaned off.

Thanks to everyone for all the great comments on the journal cover, and for stopping by. I had extra time this week so I had fun visiting  most of you.  Thanks for stopping by today and may you have a wonderful, creative week.   HAPPY WOYWW...

ATC'S have ARRIVED!!!! Love the Excitement

I love to get mail, and I truly love to get mail that someone has created for me (grandchildren's little works of art hold a special place in my heart), but the ATC's are always exciting.

Kimberly at ArtJOYStuff offers up a Swap and I have really had fun with it. Thank You Kimberly for all the extra effort you put into this fun exchange.  The theme was "April in Paris"

My packet arrived today

Each one is so unique and I love them all.  Thanks to the ladies who created them and shared their talents creating them.

This is a special tag Kimberly sent along on top of the package that included the ATC's. She has such great designs. Thanks so much, Kimberly, I love it.

This photo is of the ATC's  I sent, somewhat the same except the sparkle flower, one is pink and one is green.

This is the back side in there little packages about ready to be mailed a few weeks ago.

Again thanks to all involved and Thanks for stopping by, we finally have some sunshine after a week of gloomy skies, rain and storms.  May you enjoy your week and do what you love to be creative.

It's #152 at WOYWW

Getting use to the New Blogger is taking up some of my time locating, locating and locating.

I have had some time this week to create and organize..just not much time to be blogging about it!!!
Previous to this I shared a "CHILLY" recipe...we had a COLD, WET weekend.

Julia over at the STAMPING GROUND is getting close to celebrating another anniversary. So stop over and see what she is presenting to celebrate.  I've got mine started and having fun working with  "Tiny".

Here a few wooden Alpha letters, some chipboard, distress inks,  a few treasures from a garage sale.
Salt&Pepper shakers, 2 little ladies, a green bottle, some tiny trays and spoons.  Altered Art around the corner?  Hope so.
I tried to make a journal cover, but just not the right items here to make it what I wanted.

Had worked on it for a Challenge but when I saw the competition, I bowed out.. WOW some are so talented...layers and layers.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks so much for all the lovely comments last week.  I'm wishing you a wonderful week to enjoy all the things you love. Hope there's some time to be crafty too.
