Some Friday Fun

Welcome to my blog, thanks for stopping by.  Today I had to hurry up and make a 50th Birthday Card for a get together we were invited to this evening.  The Birthday Gal is always a fun and entertaining person and I wanted more than a card.
So I gathered some supplies, a peat pot, which I  painted taffy color and decoupaged "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere", a pipe cleaner handle, some colorful filler, a small bottle of "Kinky" Liqueur.
I made a black flower and put a clock with all "5's" on the back of  it to finish it off , added some lace around the edges.

And made a "ENJOY" "50" tag  and added some ribbon to tie it on.  I think after I look at these pictures I might make a few green leaves and attach to the little stick.

Made some deviled eggs to take with, and with such a lovely day for our Good Friday lunch I made some Haddock with homemade potato salad.  YUMMY.

Have a wonderful Good Friday, and thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW #199

Welcome all, seems it is What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday already.  . Julia created this mania and you can have some fun by joining in if you haven't already. Find the info on her blog here at the  STAMPING GROUND

So excited as our forecast all week is for the 50's..snow will melt and things will get more spring like each day. Have lots of errands to run later and so much more fun when the weather is reasonable.

My main desk hasn't really had much attention, made a few wire stars and deciding how to use them. Somehow my MoJo left and I've had to spend my days spring cleaning. Hoping to get windows done later in the week.

And here we have the big cat Baxter..a new perch in his life on top of the kitchen desk. They sure make themselves comfortable doing what they want.

Have a great week, hope the sun is shining upon you and yours. Have a wonderful Easter.

WOYWW #198

Welcome. It's very early here, couldn't get back to dreamville so will post my What's On Your Workdesk photos. If you want to join in Julia at the STAMPING GROUND has all the info on her side post.
Amazing what you'll see and learn.

By my standards, my desk was not so interesting...it was totally cleared off. So wanted to share this item.
In another life it was a spice rack which my sister found at a garage sale. All the spices I tried were to small to see or to large to fit.  So when something doesn't work where it belongs it gets New Life in my craft area if there is room.
It slides open more space, so I used it for my "Glimmers & Glams!" liquid inks and on & on.

It will set to the right of the little Peter Rabbit book you see there. And hopefully I've plans for "CREATING" the rest of this week. Had a lot of interuptions this week and we are having drifting of snow AGAIN, so won't be going out.

Have a Happy WOYWW, thanks for to all who left comments last week. I'm off to visit til daylight.

#197 at WOYWW

Welcome everyone!  Hope your day is all Sunshine.  It's Ms Julia's "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday"  and you can find out all the details on her blog  STAMPING GROUND.

Sorry this picture is not so clear, but this was the "PERFECT" button for a card I was making and it fell apart.  I was stunned. It looks like it was made from recycled plastic pieces. Had a very hard time finding anything of the same size and color to use on my project.  I hope this isn't a norm.
My desk has bits and pieces, lots of distressing colors, the blue pan is very old has a pouring spout on one end and nice to refill the button jar.  I was cutting some floral from old lace, and hoping ideas would pop into my head for the ATC exchange coming up on WOYWW.

If anyone is interested in last weeks bookmark for my grandson you can see it at  this BOOKMARK Post

I'm truly in need of a day shopping all by myself!!!  But our weather has been rain, ice, wind and 10 inches of snow since Sunday, a day of melting on Monday and Tues more blowing snow and ice on roadways. Just
cold today with lots of drifts and a high forcast of  40's Thurs/Fri..   Whoopie!!!

Thanks to all who had time to stop by and comment last week. Enjoy your week and I'm off to peep about.

WOYWW Friends A Bookmark

A really quiet Sunday here. Weather is snow, rain, ice, dreary so travel is not good and it's nice to be warm and cozy and home safe from our travels. Unpacked, and have a pot of Chili on the stove.

Our grandson Cael turned 10 on Friday and we spent Friday and Saturday visiting in Cedar Rapids.
Friday night was the grandkids "SCHOOL CARNIVAL", very well organized and lots of people attending to help raise money for their school projects. We had lunch in the cafeteria, then helped my son throughout the night, keeping track of the 3 kids.  Mother Juli volunteered to help with the games and Cami helped at the Go Fish game for an hour to earn a Girl Scout Patch.  Each room had different games to win little prizes. And it is a BIG SCHOOL. So grandpa and I slept well!!!! (3 kids going to and from amongst the crowd)

Saturday was all 3 participating in swimming, followed by Cami's last basketball game of the season. They live very close to the new YMCA and all activities are held in that building. .

For all of my WOYWW followers, this was Cael's card, he is a big ANGRY BIRDS fan. So this is the bookmark I made using the coolwhip container lid as the support on back.

One cellophane envelope held his bookmark and the other his "CASH"!! He's saving for something "BIG"
I also gave him a small fork easel to sit the card on for his desk.
He's comment: "Wow grandma, this is neet! I love Angry Birds"

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day doing what you love.

WOWYW #196

Welcome, it's #196 at Julia's STAMPING GROUND  and if you are new to this, she has all the details on her blog.

I am winding down on organizing the crafty studio!!  Made a few birthday cards and my desk is quite clean.
It is SO nice to have things labeled. Can't wait to get started on some of my Crafting Bucket Lists.
A few bits left from my grandson's 10th birthday card.  I will have a post following this with pictures etc in a few days, not to spoil the surprise. But it has a theme favorite and the little white thing with his name is a bookmark. I used the theme on the front with a piece of plastic from a whipped topping lid to make it stronger and before I glued them together, I stamped his name on the back.
This is what remains from organizing my SCAP papers, stickers, and paper embellishments. I need to label the folders, by color, theme (wedding/anniv,  kids, alpha letters, numbers, holidays etc). And hopefully find a handy place to set this, so I use them.

I am getting cabin fever...we have had snow for 2 days. And the wind has made a large drift around our house. This is the patio, brick area is clean but don't think I can get to the garden shed!!!.Just thankful for the sunshine.
Thanks for all the great comments last week, and thanks for the visit this week.  Oh some GOOD news on the BIG WHITE visiting Cat:   We found a home for him and  he will have some friends. So I hope he is very happy.
