WOYWW #569 and 570

Welcome, it is late in the day, I have been unable to download photos from my phone to my home computer.  I guess I will start using my camera, if I can even locate it !

It's the day we share our workspace, with all who are involved with our hostess Julia HERE

My Desk:

Continuing to 570

the desk today :  well  well, well : BLOGGER  changed it's format and it's Icons.
It was a process but I got a couple.  Last week I made some Face Masks  2 from bandanna's  and 2 from left over scraps.. You tube is a great help and glad to have had the info.
A first for using a new heavy duty machine. It was great, no computerized info to read about operating and threaded up very easy.  I'd love to take a class for a serger. I've had it 2 yrs and yet to figure it out.

My desk today, from play yesterday, trying out some new stamps and dies.  The layering kind,  not a fav, had 14 stamps to make 4 different flowers.  A few things have opened up for us here.
Church is all video.   Grocery stores  (I don't go) a total kaos  DH is great about taking a list and wants things to do.  A few restaurants, limited seating.  Our little near by town has great food and not much population so we had a great fish sandwich with some awesome french fries Sunday. Went for a drive around the area.  Farmers are pretty much finished with planting corn and beans. Perfect weather.

I see no place to download from phone.  So did it the old fashions way ~!~   Wishing you all sanity at it's best, Stay Safe and thanks for your comments and visits.

WOYWW #567

Welcome, I am loving that it is Wednesday 1/2 way through a miserable week. Five inches of heavy wet snow Sunday, now melting to make a mess outside. Drifts with the high winds. It was sunny to day but 30 degrees.  With this confinement I loved to be able to go out, see some green grass, walk on a sunny day and have the windows open. Maybe next week.

It's share our desk day, hostess Julia HERE has information about the process. I do apologize for only visiting about half.  I was/still having eye issues. Even my cheaters don't help.  I noticed a week ago some blogs I can hardly read as print seems so light colored.  Just got new glasses but not helping.

My desk:  well I took over our bar, (we don't use it anymore unless the grand kids come to play games) cleaned it out, using shelves for journaling materials/storage.
The top is for Collage work, making master boards,  some days using Rolodex cards, other days some exchanges.
Here are the 3x3 cards I made from a  12x12 master board for an exchange. I will keep 8 and mail 8.  It was a really fun project.  Similar to ATC's but larger

But here is the area I am creating on:

A few of the items I use,  glue, washi tape, rubber stamps,  I was lucky to win a bid for a bigger Rolodex  these cards are 3x5  where mine was small 2x3   but no doubt will use both.

A few of the collage supplies to work with scrap papers sorted by size, stamps, distress ink, It was a fun project and I will try to make 4 or 5 Rolodex's cards a week.  I do think I will work on the inside of the small journals the next few days. In my last post I had made the covers.  I am thankful for enjoying my crafty space, not much else to do besides meal prep, dusting, laundry and sorting photos. None of which are my favorite.

Thank you for your visits last week, please Stay Safe and may you and yours find happiness and laughter in the simple things.

WOYWW #566

Welcome,  It's hard to believe how fast this week has gone.  WOW, we were blessed with 70 degree temps Tuesday.  I went in town to walk. Was so enjoyable. My DH just had rock delivered for our long driveway and front round about so no way was I trying to walk on that.

Today we share our workspaces, link up with Mr. Linky  on our hostess blog HERE at the Stamping Ground and then we visit each other.

My desk:  Sewing some journals together, then I will decorate

Four in various sizes.

Then I started a master board to make 12  3x3 squares to cut apart and partake in an exchange with 6 of them.  No doubt won't mail any of this until our world is back to normal.

I doubt that school will resume. More things have closed and some areas are slowing down with the virus.  Here groups of people think it is ok to do what ever they want gathering.. SO Ridiculous.   I am concerned about June  praying we can all be together the 22nd for Mother's funeral.  So far so many funerals are on hold, and only 10 can attend, that includes the priest and a funeral director.  EVEN at the Cemetery.  We have family coming from both coasts and it this is not changed we won't even be able to have our luncheon, or have any family gatherings.

I wanted to share one photo for Annie:  She's made the cutest rabbits for her grand children
I made 2 sets of these many years ago and have enjoyed them thru the Easter holiday.
And that reminds me Easter will be on SUNDAY ~  We will stream our mass and be here alone. If weather is nice maybe take a drive to the lake and walk the trail.   May you and yours enjoy this special week   Hoping you are all well and enjoying all that you can.

WOYWW #565

Welcome to another What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Julia at the Stamping Ground hosts this every week. She welcomes anyone to play along  or just visit others from any where in the world.

Thanks for all the comments last week.  Guess we all have time with this confinement adventure.  Visiting helped pass some  time.

My desk:

Some new  flower stamps from ebay, and quite a few Easter rabbits that I am using on a project for the 3 girls in Jersey.  They are young enough to love mail and working in books. Quite the little artists.

I got 6 of these blank books for $3 at target long ago, so wrote a note inside the cover and traced or stamped a few things every other page. (rabbits, a big heart, a big egg, etc)  Decorated the mailing envelope and will add Easter cards  and mail this coming week.  Now if I could just get them to mail me SOMETHING !

I also made a birthday card for an 85 year old lady who use to be my neighbor growing up. She is just a hoot. Still working part time, delivering prescription drugs in her town and working part time in the grocery's liquor store, serving samples !   And she is a "Red Hat" lady.  She'd be the one in the middle. !

Thanks for stopping by, May you and yours Stay Safe and Enjoy Home.

WOYWW # 564

Welcome gentle deskers....this is the day we share our desks and get to visit all who partake.
Ms. Julia  HERE at the STAMPING GROUND has created a wonderful way to communicate all over our world.

My desk today:

I want to start some journals and so I need a new beginning.
The lace/glue/eggs got boxed up, I will need to order glue and work on a few other projects. Thanks for your input on glues.

And I did manage to read about posting photos from my phone. Think I have it mastered but who knows. Things change daily.

A small collage for my weekly Vintage Glue Book  using the prompts. Orange, Bell, Calligraphy, Claws, stripes.

Stay safe...we are still allowed to go out for only necessary things,(groceries, prescriptions, etc)  but most things are closed. Take out foods only and distance from people when out.  We have 2 cases (husband and wife who returned from Spain)within 3 miles and 1 more in our county about 30 miles away.  I've gone no where in 9 days.

Truthfully we need a warm up and sunshine, to get rid of the dampness here.  Blessings to all, may you find your inner peace and all good things to come your way

WOYWW #563

Welcome, hope you are having a great day and enjoying our Wednesday WOYWW,  New to this your can find info HERE at STAMPING GROUND. Ms Julia our hostess, has all the details.  But one warning it is addictive.

My desk for this week:

I found a new package of white eggs from a sale last year, so I was going to cover them with lace, and maybe a few with collage papers.  Well the glue was WRONG and the lace fell off !  I have not
restarted working with this array of fun things. I need a different glue, will no doubt have to order it as this country is pretty much closed for everything.

Covid 19 Virus  (Corona)
Limited grocery store hours, no Toilet Paper to be found, nor hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol.
No churches open, Only 10 at a funeral, All schools closed, list is long so it's stay at home. AND I kinda like that, except for our weekly breakfast out to visit with friends and our weekend ritual. Even the weather is dark, rainy and gloomy.

And for some reason this posting will be un aligned, just going where it wants too.

Have a great week, hope your area has somewhat normal living, as this is beyond fun.

WOYWW #562

Welcome, it's the wee hours of Wednesday morning,  Foggy, damp and a heavy mist, kind of like a scary Halloween night. And my body hurts. Using hot/cold for my neck and shoulder and I was hungry. ~~  We have two big  owls making a lot of racket out the bedroom window in a big old cottonwood tree. I'm thinking they are causing the disappearance of a few of the many rabbits we have been feeding thru these winter months.

It's sharing the desk day and Ms Julia will have all the info HERE at the STAMPING GROUND

I haven't been downstairs for a couple of days. It's a huge mess~I was rearranging the storage room, cleaned out file cabinets and making room for guests to visit in June. The upstairs has been a disarray for a few weeks, so I had 7 loads of laundry, (mostly bedding/blankets)  much needed dusting in every room, taking down of Valentine decor and getting out the Easter rabbits. Almost SPRING cleaning but a little early.

So my sit down desk up here has been my place of doing desk work. No real creating

If anyone knows what I have to do with this new Galaxy Samsung A50 to download photos to my "blog " PLEASE let me know. I've watched video's, called the provider (I don't think they even know what a "Blog" is, and nothing is working. I hate downloading to my photos, it's another process.  The older phone S4 was SO much BETTER.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW #559

Oh so Welcome.   I am happy to partake today. A snow storm my hubby is cleaning up after and I didn't have to take time to make him lunch.

It's Wednesday the day we share our desks, Ms Julia (HERE) will let you visit and partake

I want to say THANK YOU to all who left Condolences about the passing of my Mother. One week ago today I had a feeling I needed to go visit.  9 am  when I arrived I knew there was a big issue.  At 10:50  she took her last breath.  You know that "GUT" feeling  always give in to it.
I am so thankful I was there with her.

Your support and kinds words are so appreciated. I will truly miss her.  I don't know what it will be like to go to the neighboring town for groceries and not stop to see her.  My post below this has her Obituary.

We are delaying a "Celebration of her Life" until the weather turns nice.  Too many have very long distances to travel.  And she would have wanted us to all be together.

I played catch up for Jan/Feb on the Take 3  collage challenge with a FB group Vintage Gluebooks

My desk 2 workspaces:

This one seems kind of a drop area...A luscious journal I ordered on etsy from Belarus, Some new LARGE numbers and stamps I plan to use making a master board.

The real work space moved to the table on the left and I love my Tonic glass mat.  Working on mini collage Rolodex cards.  Thank you for the comments left on last posting.

Thank you for stopping by  May you have a great week.

MOTHER, My Special Valentine

It is with a saddened and heavy heart, this Valentine's Day that I share with you my Mother's Obituary

Her OBIT is here  "A Very Special Mother"  added photos and tributes.

My family was Blessed with a Very Special Lady.  Always a smile, always encouragement, giving up her time for anyone she knew might need it.  A Beautiful soul, left our world February 12 2020 about 10:50 A.M.   And I was so privileged to be with her. holding her now frail little hand.  The hand that touched many with true LOVE and RESPECT.

Treasure people who come your way. No one knows if you will ever see that person again.
I was fortunate and blessed

God's Blessings

WOYWW #558

Welcome to my blog and THANK YOU to all who left messages from last weeks posts.
Ms Julia is our hostess and she encourages new people to join up with the sharing of your desks on Wednesday. HERE will get you the info.

We spent Friday/Saturday visiting my son and his family in Cedar Rapids about 3.5 hrs away.  We were finally able to do our Christmas, attend Camyrn's Jr. Varsity and Varsity basketball games Friday night and Cael's district swim meet Saturday. My daughter in law was diagnosed with a blood clot in her lung, so was somewhat resting. Was a beautiful sunny day and a fun trip home.

My desk

Some purchases from Tuesday Morning's new store. It was on our way to my grandson's swim meet...SO I had to stop. Oh how I wish I was closer to that area.  So much to do.  The city is thriving and easy to get around.
And this was delivered, my new Tonic glass desk mat. I will be able to use it soon I hope.
Spending as much time as I can with my Mom...there have been no changes. But I know she can hear.  My brother was able to be with here on Saturday while I was away and I know she would have been so pleased. He has a 4 hr trip to visit.

Wishing you all the best and enjoy your WOYWW. I'll try to make some visits this week, getting use to my new phone.

WOYWW #557

Here it is time for the Sharing of the Workspaces, Ms. Julia HERE Welcomes one and all.

My desk shows the making of some post cards for a swap I have coming up. Theme "HOME"I will post 4 finished next week.
Some journal / gift giving envelopes made from a past calender

Short and sweet.  Lack of sleep and lots of stress. Monday night we were called to the nursing home, as my mother had some sort of a medical issue and was unresponsive.  I spent most of Tuesday with her. They moved her to a private room and hospice has been called.  She cannot swallow, or talk. Not focusing with her eyes and was put on oxygen. I did have 20 minutes with her awakening about 5 PM and new that she could hear me, her eyes would blink, she positioned her hand to be by her eye and loved having me hold it. Will see what today brings. We have been blessed having this special person in our lives for so long and now it is time to pray and prepare ourselves for her peace.
