WOYWW #95

WOW...WOYWW..Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday..is here so quickly each week. Julia at the
Stamping Ground  started this fun venture. So if you are interested in snooping..stop over. It is fun.

I feel a little embarrassed about my desk..but it has been a whirlwind here.  In a previous post I spoke of using stitching on my cards. Yesterday after trying to get my machine to work, I decided to take it to the repair shop to be cleaned and adjustments made. Well the place has closed their business.  I had this little one stowed away from years back and messed with it enough to get it to work and did use it to stitch on a card. Left and never cleaned up after myself.

We have no shopping close by, so we spend most of a day when we "GO SHOPPING" and we always love to have lunch while we are there. So it's catch up time on Wed. I will have to reorganize before I can get back to creating and find a new repair shop.  No doubt would be easier to buy a NEW Machine only if money were no object. Those of you who stitch on cards so you need to use a certain kind of needle??
And if you think my desk is bad...here is the floor.

Shopping still unopened and I do have some spring treasures in that bag.  So best I get to picking up.
Thanks for stopping by,  enjoy your little tour, and have a really great day.
We are on a warm up....oh thank you heavens above.

Can't sew to save my life, so not going to be any use to you I am afraid. Loving the pile of goodies on the floor...

I sew on most all my cards. I have a cheap, generic Singer, about 7 years old. It has a few zig zag stitches. I'm using old Singer needles I found in my MIL's sewing box from the 50's & 60's. The thing to watch is sewing thru adhesive...if the stickum gets on the needle the machine will drop stitches. Other than that, I just sew through cardstock, chipboard, lace, felt...love it :)

I have a lovely sewing machine my hubby bought for me 2 years ago at christmas just small one as wnmated mainly for cards and layouts cost £30 from wilkinsons think only been out box 3 times.
I must start to make use of it as sewing /stitching looks so beauitful on cards. You need to get that bag of stash out and start creating..lol
Happy woyww

I just use any needle, larger size, but as was mentioned take care not to sew through adhesive or you end up dropping stitches and I finally just throw the gummy needle away. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #83

What a very inspiring work area. I do love cards that have been sewn on, must give it a go. Not sure if I can get my machine to work though. TFS

Love that you worked on your own machine. I have a squeak in mine that oil won't quiet so I just might attempt to fix it after seeing what you did!! I don't have a sewing repair business in my area either. Thanks for the tip. I just sew on my cards with whatever needle I have in my machine at the time Love your work!!

I bought a cheapie sewing machine for using on paper because I ruined one machine doing just that... amazingly it works just fine on material too!! ;) Love that I am so late I can see that you repaired the machine yourself... good for you, that means the $50 you saved is now yours to spend on stash right? lol
