Had to work on my Serger a bit and rethread...seems someone pulled all the threads from their proper place . After 2hrs I think I've it properly done, but have yet to try it on good fabric pieces!!! My head is spinning. I cannot understand the tiny spaces within this machine and would never buy one that cannot rethread itself.
I've a list a mile long to catch up on. I have hope, Little by little it will all fall into place. But I've very necessary things to plan for within the next 2 wks. Top of the list is to shorten 5 fabric tops with the Serger for our vacation.
Saturday will be the 85th birthday party for my Mother. So made a few plans for that, with invites, food etc.
Enjoy WOYWW visits, thanks for your support the past few weeks and for stopping by today.

Rethreading a serger needs an awful lot of patience....I talk to mine and ask it to be kind to me when I'm doing it :-) Mine always has to be rethreaded at just the worst moment...in the middle of an important job OR when I'm up to my ears with customers sewing and they all need overlocking!
Hugs,

I've always wanted a serger, but just don't do enough sewing to justify it..and now you've reminded me how little I do - 2 hours to thread the thing will stay in my head a while!! Hope your list is shrunken and not vexing by the time you go - have a great holiday.
A big Happy Birthday to your Mom! As always I love to come see your desk and what you have going on there. I can't imagine 2 hrs. to re-thread a machine! Wow you must be made of patience!
I cant even remember how to thread my basic singer, would have no chance at all with something that complicated.
Happy Birthday to your Mum, hope you all have a great day.

Wow that looks like a complicated bit of kit! Think I'd rather help drop the engine out of the car than tackle that!! Hope you get things going and get your tops altered. Hope your Mum's party goes well, it's going to be difficult for her without your Dad, these things are never easy.
Hugs

Many Happy Returns to your mum! Hope her party goes well! Mine has just turned 84 and we are looking for a place for her to live nearer us! Oh, dear, the inner workings of sewing machines terrify me! Happy WOYWW! Julie Ann xx #41
I don't know anything about sewing machines - but it sounds like hard work :-) Wish you a wonderful birthday celebration with your mum. Happy WOYWW, Suzanne #49
Trying to fix anything to do with a sewing machine would be doing my head in but you definitely have the right attitude to get through your to do list. I hope your mum has a wonderful birthday and you have a great vacation. Happy WOYWW! Danie #14
In Aust I haven't heard of s Serger but imagine its an overlocker with all those threads....I'd be worried one thread would break and get tangled up and make those horrid little knots on the back of your sewing...I've had my Brother machine serviced recently and it's going great on my quilts. Wishes for a wonderful 85th for your mum. Cheers RobynO#52
He he - I am with Annie on the serger. They are so useful but can be a real pain sometimes. Happy birthday to your Mum - have fun. x Jo
UGG to 2 hours re-threading your serger I can barely re-thread my sewing machine so my hat off to yah :) and have a Happy Birthday to your mom have a great time hugs Nikki 7
Hi Sylvia! Just wanted to pop over and thank you for your very sweet comment on my blog yesterday! Hope you are doing well. My head would be spinning after trying to re-thread that serger, too!!
I feel your frustration. I am a home economics teacher and when we use the serger, ugh. It can be very slow going as they tend to pull to hard and break a thread once in a while. As far as machines, I love the serger and how helpful of a tool it is for sewing. Kim 56
I realize I stopped by for Friday smiles, but I'm playing catch up on WOYWW finally.
I've never owned a serger. I'm lucky to have a sewing machine (grin). Love the look of your desk, though. All those dabbers make for a very appealing bouquet.
Thanks for your previous visit, too.
busy desk! I have thought about buying a serger but...other things seem to get in the way. DD has one so if I need one I just borrow hers. Thanks for sharing. Sorry I am so late getting around this week but I am making it around finally! Hope you had a great weekend! Vickie #36
