Good Morning, hope you have fun plans for today. Our Iowa weather has taken a turn on warming up for a few days. Almost 50 degrees, and a huge full moon last night.
I saw a cute fish card in the store, but priced at $7 I decided to put it back in its slot. Two brother in laws do a LOT of fishing so not having a die fish, I came up with the idea of using 2 Spellbinder leaves. Here's how it turned out.
I personally like layers and more depth, but when mailing the postage sky rockets. So tried to be more simple.
I used the bottom part of an embossing folder for the measuring design and distress inks. The sentiment of Happy February Birthday was placed inside.
Then I also saw a cute little rosette in the shape of a heart. So I checked YouTube, my favorite place to find some ideas. The first one was from scrap paper (dark red) but the paper was flimsy but the other one was a bit easier.
The template is 6 inches, free hand and folded over to make 12 in. paper to score every 1/4 inch. Then pleat and glue to the small circle.
I used this link: Heart Rosette mainly because she also shows using Spellbinders borders to finish off the edge. I don't have these but I thought it was a cute idea. There a several other videos to get ideas.
Enjoy a fun weekend.

Thanks for the ideas, Sylvia. I watched the video on making the hearts and plan to make a few and have them on hand to decorate gift packages. It's a great way to use up left over pieces of 12" cardstock.
Super cute ideas and a wonderful way to use our talents and scraps. I find all to often people will shell out that $7.00 and buy a card that has been duplicated 1000 times, but have issues spending X amount for a hand made card.
