WOYWW #437

Good Morning fellow deskers.  Hoping you have bright sunshine and a wonderful day.  It's Wednesday the day we share our workspaces with our lovely hostess Julia at the STAMPING GROUND

I have my 3 grandkids here from Cedar Rapids,  14, 12, 9 yrs old,  so it's a pretty simple week.
Swimming, movies, grandpa entertains outdoors, with gardening, 4 wheeler rides, feeding barn cats etc..and a 89th Birthday party tomorrow for my Mom.

Yes, imagine I bought a card, I liked the verse and didn't know how much free time I'd have so I just decorated the envelope. We have a party at the Assisted Living for the residents and any family who wants to come (they'll be a lot of us).

The first year in a long time the kids missed our small Country Fair, but baseball and softball were still being played.  We went and I saw this cute doll wearing a replica of my 4-H uniform from the 50's. WOW.   Adding this as a few comments did not know about 4-H   Goggled showed IOWA

Each county in the rural areas had a group of interested girls ages 10 to 18  gathering once a month, learning cooking, sewing, wood working, etc...had a set project to do within that month and did demo's at the fair.

We went thru the floral hall, had lunch at the Catholic stand, it's the best homemade pie and chicken & biscuits around.  Of course a night of car racing and  walking thru the grounds seeing displays.
These little flowers are outside our patio.  Just love them.  Johnny Jump Ups is what my grandma called them  Viola's
And at last my T. H. stamp platform arrived.  Ordered in March  and Just got here it had to go thru government hoops before it could be sold I guess.   So can't wait to try it out.  I've seen good results from it.

Have a great week, thanks for stopping by.

Wow, I'm assuming that someone had a patent on the stamp platform before Mr Holtz launched his then? I think the lady who owns Mostly Animals was the first to use and sell such a thing, I have one. It must be fifteen years old at least. Marvellous tool. Hope you have a marvellous week with your olde grandchildren. What is 4-H? sweet uniform for it!

Congratulations on the arrival of your stamp platform. I have the large Misti, but managed to bag the Tim Holtz one at a bargain price and absolutely love it! If your mum is anything like mine she always prefers the verse to whatever is on the front of a card. I have started taking a small notebook with me when I visit card shops or sneaking a photo of any particularly nice verses with my phone. Happy WOYWW Sarah #25

You have had a busy time Sylvia! I love reading about all the different things you've been up to. Hope you've had a great time with your grandkids too :-D. I loved the old name for violas - is that because they seed freely and pop up everywhere?!

Let me know how you like the TH stamp positioner! I was thinking about one of those but unsure about it. Those flowers are so pretty, what a nice sight right outside your door!

I think you'll love your new stamp press. I have one (another brand), and I wonder now how I ever stamped without it.

Hello dear, sounds like your grand-kids and you are having a wonderful time together :) Happy summer days. The violas between the stones are so sweet and beautiful, I love how they can pop up randomly in such places, unexpected yet more than welcome. Your envelope is beautifully embellished. Enjoy your stamp press! Big hugs xx
