Welcome, with our wind and cold weather I've been enjoying inside projects. I came across a fun Challenge. Here at Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog they are doing the "Vintage Valentine" challenge. I've always loved hearts and Valentines are pretty special.
I gathered up my supplies after the Christmas holiday was over and did a bit of sorting. The design team member Maggi's idea: "For this challenge we want to see vintage valentines in vintage colors like pinks, blues, purples. No bright red please. Show us your vintage side with vintage colors and images" So this is what I came up with:
I purchased 3 of these on a huge clearance sale for 50 cents last year. And I am trying to use up supplies. It has a Chalkboard type front. Which I left as my back side on this project. I can use this to write a sentiment.
I covered the cardboard side with card stock, distressed a doily, a scrap piece of corrugated cardboard, glittered the edges of the die shaped heart. Cut a smaller heart, distressed with vintage photo ink and added the love birds.
A little "love" cutout, a few tiny flowers and made a stick pin.
Made a little yarn loop for hanging.
So I know she appreciates the time and love put into this.
There are 5 more days to enter this challenge so have some fun and get creative.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy a great week.
Sylvia

Your hanging Valentine is lovely. All the little details make it really special. I think your mother will love it.
Your vintage hanging Valentine heart is beautiful Sylvia, a layered beauty and a bonus that you can write a little message on the back, so useful. A bargain buy which your Mother will treasure.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend Hugs Tracey xx

Sylvia, this is such a creative vintage Valentine made with love for your Mom. I love the textured layers topped with that gorgeous bird themed Valentine image and of course, the stickpin surrounded by those tiny flowers. Thank you so much for playing along at Frilly and Funkie! Hugs!
