WOYWW # 324

So glad you stopped by. Today is Wednesday, the day we share our workspaces. WOYWW information  can be found on our hostess Julia's blog Stamping Ground .  It's fun and it's addictive.

My desk:

The right side....collection drop off...on the chair is one of the wedding dressed I plan to cut up.
The wire I will soon be using for another project. It is from a used furnace filter.

This is the remains of finishing up my ATC's for August. I will post them next week.

I've missed a couple of weeks.. Just a lot of real LIFE going on. The 3 grandchildren were here one week. We took in the local fair 2 days with stock car racing,  afternoon swimming , 2 parades, one for the Fair and the other for Britt Hobo Days, going out to eat, visited a Fossil and Prairie garden and grandpa kept them busy with garden help, giving rides on the 4 wheeler, visiting great grandma a couple of days, watching a few movies, eating popcorn and watching a bright colored airplane spray the farm fields.  And enjoying  eating 3 ears of frresh  sweet corn with our lunch each day.

My desk has had little attention, spent a day Celebrating my mothers 87th birthday,  but I did make an anniversary card for my better half, which tomorrow we will be married 10 years.  Sorry no photos yet. And we had a new shower installed.

So there was a day of cleaning up dust. I will have some wall repair to do as this was a narrower unit then the one they took out.  Have to research what I really want to do. The new colors are grey and white, so I can use any color accent pieces. Hopefully in a month or so we add the new vanity/sink also.

It has been a great week.  I am rested up, we had 2 inches of much needed rain Monday and 1.5 inches Tuesday, with forecast of another storm tonight. We;ve really had enough but  I love a rainy day !!!

Lacey Project

HaPpY SuNDday ATC Exchange

Happy Sunday, I have been missing in action. Have had my 3 grand kids here since last Monday.
Have been very busy entertaining them with the great outdoors.

But I wanted to post the past "GRUNGE" ATC exchange, so a quick photo. Somehow all the individual ones I took have not turned out

Postal Packaging from Kimberly is always exciting.  The 3 ATC's came inthe 3 other wraps. In the little red bag Kimberly sent us little gems, lace and a pretty beaded pin. Thank you so much Kim.

Left the London Man is from Alice, the Middle from Kelly, the Right is from Jess. They are all so special and my photos do not do them justice. There are layers and metal adornments that really makes these so special.  Thank You so much .  ArtJoyStuff  has so much better photos and it you would enjoy the post Kimberly displayed with the "GRUNGE" swap.

WOYWW #321

Good Morning sweet friends.   I'm a little late in posting but had lots to do and forgot it was Wednesday..the day we share our desks.  Julia at STAMPING GROUND has made it possible for this fun event world wide.

I haven't been at my desk or anywhere close to it. I've been working on garage projects off and on. We spent a week at a rental home in near by Clear Lake, enjoying all the fun events that little town offers through the summer.

 Regrets,,,no before photo but it was similar to this table..the 2 bottom steps fold in and out and I use it to reach things in my kitchen cupboards

 Love this old gateleg table. Have had it for years. Usually had it covered and decided time to sand it down and refurbish it. Trying to decide HOW...

This was from my hubby's family. Can replace the top with ceramic inlay and again decide to paint,or stain, but the sanding is done.  

This has been in the garage for a long time. It was faded yellow where the blue is and in rough shape white. Hubby spray painted it and I am happy how it turned out. Will be handy when my young granddaughter visits to sit beside the table. 

Weather turned HUMID, so won't be painting for awhile, but want these inside by fall.

Thanks to all who stopped by last week.  I apologize for not making many visits.  I did get my problem fixed. When I realized the Modem and cords worked fine on another system I Goggled hard drive not connecting to Internet, the answer was soon found in an update.  I had to download a PATCH  for Windows 8  and update Adobe Reader. And I am hoping to be able to post this to Julia's STAMPING GROUND from my I Phone...we have been at the lake and there is no TV or Internet connection at this rental. Will be back on Thursday so maybe I'll just be late.

WOYWW # 319?

Greetings fellow WOYWW deskers  I am having issues with my main desk top computer..and don't yet know how to post from my I-phone or my Kindle.   Evidently my hard drive won't connect to the internet. I've tried a new cord but to no avail. All our other systmes work so it has to be the hard drive.  I am using a very old computer XP and it is very slow.  I went to the city yesterday and it was all road construction...had to get items for my Bunco group next Monday and wanted to get my frozen drinks and frozen deserts done today.  Had I known I could have taken the hard drive with me and had them check it out.  I hate the thought of going again this week..It takes more than 1/2 the day driving and doing errands.  But I hate to be without it also.  Will have to see how Thurs/Fri goes. So many things stacking up with summer.

It only took me 35 minutes to add this photo!!!  this is a closet in our computer room that I converted to my desk space. Underneath the counter top are 6 of the plastic filing cabinets with 6 drawers each. A great filing system.  On the shelf above I have old game boards, some books and things the grandkids like to use.

As I went to link this to Julia's sight, I was shocked to hear about Eliz 's death.  I was not available last week as we had an unexpected death also. Our niece's father in law, age 63, died of a sudden heart issue totally unexpected.  Over 700 people visiting the viewing the night before the funeral. Loved by so many and both families had lots of brothers and sisters  (14 or so).. Then I also noticed a special  stamping designer Heidi Swapp lost her 16 year old son.  Prayers go out to all these families.   Enjoy each minute.

 Welcome....here it is Wednesday already and time to share our workspaces.  Julia at the STAMPING GROUND  provides us with the little widget that we can do this with.  Making connections all around the world and what fun it has been.

bits and pieces...finished up my ATC's for July and will post photos in a couple of weeks. Our June ones are on the way to us by US mail. They were made with Tim Holtz products and I must not know how to use the stamping distress block...this is the 2nd one and I cannot get the cotton pad to stick as the bottom always losses it's powers?????  The little doll hangers and wire flower frog were unpacked a few days ago from a visit to my favorite little shop nearby.

I have been painting some wood items in the garage and regret not taking before and after photos.
Maybe can do the after for next week posts. I have other things I need to paint but could not open the doors to continue.
For those of you who haven't heard, Iowa and many other States  are being plagged with smoke from the fires in Canada. It is making our sun red. Canada's Wildfires  and causes many of us to cough if outside too long. Another day and it should clear up.  So many have lost their homes and belongings.

It's Wednesday, the day we share our desks.. Julia of the STAMPING GROUND has been our host for this fun sharing group. Her blog has all the info you need to partake if you are interested.

So happy you stopped by. The week just flew by and I didn't even have a chance to do a post in between. I did have a little time trying out various textures with my flower dies. Some burlap, the crinoline, vellum and black tulle.  I wanted to experiment with a little color on the crinoline but really was cut short on time.  This desk is to the right of my normal photos.  My usual space is home to some work in process on  ATC's  for a swap and I didn't want to disrupt the layouts.  It seems to be a hard challenge for me this time.

 We had a beautiful outdoor wedding on Saturday. It was held outdoors and a beautiful job of outdoor decorating.   My husband farms this acreage on the edge of town, where they will live.

Sunday we went to see my grandson play baseball about 2 hrs away and spent the night.  Our state had severe storms during the night and  Monday early, with winds, tree damages,  tornado's,  and very heavy rain.  We were in a hotel and waited for it to clear up in order to head home. My brother's town was hit with destruction but his acreage was ok. Semi's turned over, grain bins uplifted and knocked down power lines. Of course my husband was worried about our crops but we had very little damage, just a few branches.  We were very thankful no one was injured. Now we are dealing with the dreadful mosquitoes.

Pretty cleaned off, trying to learn how to use the eyelet punch and the white fabric like parcel is for making some flowers.  Distress ink will color them, will share when I 've a few finished.

Some wonderful weather stowed upon us.  And I have taken full advantage of it.  Had a wonderful weekend in our Capital City watching my granddaughter and the team win State Championship in her summer softball league.  So happy we could be there to watch.  Will post photos  in a day or so.

Welcome!
We have had some awesome weather here. Just puts me in a great mood, to be outside and enjoy.

It's Wednesday, the day we share our workspaces...Julia at the STAMPING GROUND has been our host going on 6 years. Yesterday I received my ATC from Canada in our Anniversary exchange

 Annie from ArtyFartyAnnie  had the cutest packaging to protect this cute little ATC

She has a post on her blog on how she did it. And her photos are better than mine. Thanks Annie, it is just fun to receive these "LittleTreasures". They are all so unique.

I also did a post on the one's I made and sent out in the previous post.

And my workspace....haven't really been creating. Last rainy day my hubby and I went to the city and I found treasures~~  Tim Holtz was on sale, as was the paint.  Not pictured, I also got some grey and white chalk paint to try on a few wooden things I want to refurbish..Will keep you posted.

During the weekend I went to an estate sale and a Quilt Shop closing sale. Will do a post on the fun items I purchased there in a day or so.

Spent most of yesterday, trimming the yard, so hubby could mow, weeding the flower garden and picking rhubarb, Chinese cabbage and Kale.  I made kale chips and later will do a rhubarb crisp. The Chinese cabbage I used for tuna salad wraps for lunch.
