Garland Fun

Thanks for stopping by, I forgot to post this before Valentine's Day

I started with a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock.  Cut it  in have, and folded both 1/2 pieces in half again.
Then I cut these in 3 in strips, folded and cut out the center with a heart die.

Then I used hemp cord, spaced the 8 strips with an old narrow close pin for even spacing and put glue on the fold and let it dry.

The heavy weights did the job .

The hearts  I also will make a garland with, must haven't had time.  Will put the 3 together, fold and stitch vertically.  Giving me a garland with 8  hearts

The little red heart was a sample piece and I accidently cut a 1/2 circle so I made my hubby this Valentine.

I made a little tag "True Love" and used a winged tack so it is moveable. In the 2nd photo, it is down

Folded flat and it fit in with this card and a little envelope I made.  He was intrigued !

WOYWW #611

Welcome, it's another Wednesday, a day we share our desks.  Ms Julia hosts our fun HERE and you can play along or visit anyone who's name shows up on Mr. Linky.

My desk: We had electricity turned off this morning, with the bitter temps of -17 so the mother board could have a break.  And only off for less than an hour. But I have a bright sunny window to work with so thought I'd make some  "Lacey" paper clips clusters for later use.  Was fun and I used up "scraps".

Here is a Valentine my Hubby made for me !

You should be able to clip the photos to enlarge.  We also went to our favorite restaurant on Tuesday to avoid the crowds and had our favorite LARGE Shrimp

In a post following this I will have  a Valentine Garland, and his hanging Valentine.
I've also posted a few In previous posts as I shared on a few group posts.

I was saddened to hear of our friend Shaz. She will be missed, I loved her style and always could present a question and she'd get me through. Thanks Julia for the wonderful post.  It is a treasure.  May you all enjoy good health and Happy Times.
Thanks for your visit

Valentine for a Group Share

 Welcome, what a bright and sunny day, but bitter cold.  I've made a Valentine for a group post at Bird Nest Book and Junk Journals this week

My desk is out of control.  I've several things besides this Valentine I've been working on

 This is the completed one for your weekly fun.

Then I made a little pocket for it to be put into my journal. The large white could be an envelope.

If you check Pinterest there are several,  Most have the point to the top, so I really have it backwards.  Could not load the photo to show you.
Thanks for stopping by, I will be posting a heart garland  sometime later today.

Gecko Galz Monthly 'Image" Challenge

Welcome, today I am taking part in a  Monthly "Image" Challenge at Gecko Galz  You can visit HERE to see the details and get the image.  Use some creativeness and link up with Mr. Linky.

A little of the process: cutting the heart from corrugated cardboard and adding some glitter to the edges.

The  large chipboard heart was covered with some card stock  I layered the heart lace on top and distressed the edges of both pieces.

I was going to use the big ball of thread with the gold tinsel  for the hanger but the variegated yarn looked better.  The colors just all fell into place.
I made a beaded stickpin and added some red/pink heart stickers to each side of the photo.

Thanks for stopping by.  It's Super Bowl Sunday here in the States so must get a few munchies ready.

What’s On Your a Workdesk? Wednesday 609

Welcome,  It's been awhile since I've made a post.  I'm  glad to be back.  Things are getting back to some normalcy in my life, if there is such a thing.  Our weather has been great. We've missed most of the snowfalls and the wind seems to be at rest and that makes it easy to walk a few times a week. It's so good to get fresh air, all  Bundled up of course

My Desk: I've enjoyed several days of crafting.  Here I'm making some clusters from tiny scraps for cards, tags  or journals.  You can enlarge the photos by clicking on them. I hope.

My floor:  Overwhelmed  usually my floor is in order, but I had to get out Valentine items and and had been working on a several Sympathy cards, converting some file folders to folio's  and  trying to get back to making a rolodex a day.   I am finding that the 12x12 plastic boxes are the best way to keep the projects off my desk and all the things together.  Now I need to find a place to store them !
It's Wednesday the day we share our desks, You can partake by adding to Mr. Linky and Ms Julia has all the info on her blog HERE  to visit any one who is playing along.

Wishing you all  Safe Surroundings, A sane mind and great ideas to keep happy.

Unusual Birthday Cards

Good Morning,

A project almost finished.   I've 2 birthdays for ladies in our town, 88 and 103. With the situation in our world I always think MAIL is good to receive.  Trying to decide WHEN to mail.  An in town piece of 1st class mail,   mailed  Dec 21st took until 28th after Christmas.  It took 12 days for a small 1st Class from Iowa to Tennessee.

My idea was to create 88 candles on one card and 103 on the other.  I did that by using an embossing folder with 14 candles. counting the back side I had 28 on one page.   I had to make 1 candle with the odd number 103.  Cards are 5 1/2 x 4 1/2

You can enlarge this photo to see the embossing, I used yellow for the candle flame.
My desk,  and all the colors I used for the candles

The Envelope Front  Hoping I can drop this off
Backside of cards and envelope
Front side of card at top and 103/1 sparkly candle last page
The back side of the cards

Front cover has 10 candles,  (5 each side)   2 pages have 14 each side 28 =56, 1 page 13 each side = 26, back page has 10 and 1 added =11   EQUAL 103
The backside of the envelope and front side of the card

~~~~~~~~On to the next one~~~~~ ~!!!!
This card may be mailed  It is a little thinner, not as many pages, and a simpler envelope. It  Has 3 pages x 28 = 84     1 cover has 4 candles = 88
Front of the envelope  and the back of the cards. held together in the corner with some ribbon
Thanks for stopping by, this was a 3 to 4 day project, with cutting, embossing , having ink dry and creating ideas for fronts and backs. And of course figuring out the totals  But is was fun.
WOYWW #605
Welcome,  another Wednesday in our world.  It's been some beautiful January days, showing us great beauty in Nature.
Today we are sharing our desks, and Ms Julia HERE  gives us the opportunity to visit many arond the world thru Mr. Linky.  You can join in, she has those details at the top of her blog, make visits, and enjoy.
MY DESK:
The beginning of 2 birthday cards.  Embossing folder gives 14 candles. So when turning the card over I have 28 on each single page.  I need 88 on one card and 103 on the other.   Distressed the candle flame with yellow.  103 being an odd #  I cut  out 1 extra candle with sparkly paper
I decided a little booklet would be the answer. I used different colors on the front and back of each page
I added a birthday wish on the cover,  I will post the finished process tomorrow.
I had fun making the envelope for Lucille who will be 103.  I will hand deliver this so didn't have to worry about mail delivery.
Thanks for all the lovely comments last week. I hope you are all safe and finding things to do to keep you sane.  I am fine with being at home, but I sure am missing my grandkids and their Mom and Dads.  It is mostly due to Distance  You can't just come and go.
Stay Safe  and Thanks for visiting.
