Good morning to all of you ! Thanks for visiting.
Back in the 70's I lived in an apartment and made friends with a special lady in her 80's who lived upstairs. Always a fun adventure with Helen. Spry, happy and full of vim and vigor. She was to the point of cleaning out boxes and downsizing. And offered me a little box of Christmas goodies. Her daughter didn't want them and she knew how I "LOVED" to decorate for Christmas. So I accepted. I miss you dear Helen but
Every year since her passing I treasure these special little ANGELS more and more, they date back to Chicago (where she raised her daughter alone) in the 1940's. And I have recently thought I will try to find her grand daughter and label the box for her and when I decide to start giving away she can have the enjoyment of these little treasures.
Made from Balsam wood
A heavy plastic
A collection of wooden Angels all with musical instruments
Another Balsam wood and a newer Angel from beads
The Topper
The Hanging Tree itself, I did find some beaded garland I will add today.
The Santa Tree, mostly Paper Santas and I love the Rice lighting on this, click the photos to enlarge
And a Santa quilt that adorns our bed, I don't have a wall big enough to display this or I would hang it.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed the "Little Treasures". Have a lovely and supposedly BUSY weekend.

Love the large Santa quilt
I have a small one that I can hang on the wall, I think I have it ready to show in a future post of mine
Oh yes Sylvia those angels are so sweet and what a wonderful idea to try to hand these on to Helen's grand daughter. They could become an heirloom for her.
(Some of the images are not quite in focus I think!).
The tree topper is gorgeous too!
And sleeping under a Santa quilt too - that is amazing!
Thank you so much for sharing these with us!
Have a lovely break away too during this lovely
Festive Season,
Suzy
I'm sure Helen must have adored you for her to hand these treasures over to your care, Sylvia! She would be so happy to see them out and appreciated and amazed that they are now on display for the entire world to see via the web! That was sweet and heartwarming. I do hope her granddaughter wants them and will carry on the tradition. It is a delight to see how much you enjoy decorating for Christmas! That quilt is fabulous!!
If I don't get back again before Christmas, I wish you the happiest holiday and new year!! Hugs, Darnell
Your fabulous Happy Birthday message on my blog had me so tickled pink that I *had* to pop over to thank you and...Oh my goodness!!! I absolutely, completely LOVE angels and here you are, showcasing your gorgeous collectionn. How happy Helen must be knowing that you are keeping her memory alive by giving her precious angels such a warm, loving home. Your post, your photos, your joy in the these sweet cherubs and especially, your desire to find her grand-daughter to pass these on to her...YOU are an angel!! Of that, there is no doubt! Your tree and Santa quilt...swoon! What an inviting home you have! Sylvia: I'm beyond delighted that our paths crossed - and please, visit again, whenever you can! You've brought sparkle to my day, and joy to my heart! Thank you!!
