WOYWW #292

A Happy New Year to You and Yours....took a little blogging break I guess, but wanted to partake in Julia's weekly Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday, at her STAMPING GROUND.

I did get some organizing done since my last post. Entertained my son and family over Christmas and my husbands family was here Sunday.  So still have up my Christmas decor and have been enjoying the little lights.

My desk:
Looking for Inspiration for upcoming Valentines day  I did find the box of necessary things.

Above is left of my desk, a drop leaf table near my sewing machine. I mentioned to my nieces and sisters I'd make them all a fabric book, from some of mother and dad's things. They gave me colors and themes. Well I've not done any physical work on this, just mental !~! so thought I'd at least get the sizes cut, pick out laces and decide how to bind it all together. Just maybe I can get them done before the holidays 2015....MAYBE....
My niece knows from past experience how that works.  While she was in college I met her for lunch. We had a great time shopping, eating and laughing together.  I bought a panda bear pattern and all the fabric.   Every time she saw me she'd asked if I got the project done !...Well when her 2nd son was born about 6 years later...I got the idea.... just to prove to her I could finish it, I made the Panda for her son's little gift.  No how bad it that.

I am also working to find ONE spot for all my Christmas crafting supplies. I have 2 chest of drawers in my storage room, I need to work into the area, clean out and organize. Maybe one for Christmas and the other for other holidays.

I'll be spending most of this week "INSIDE"...can put away Christmas, and work on the above. We hare having 30 MPH winds, after our 4/5 inches of snow, and dangerous temps. -35 with wind chill.
Schools are closed  and advisory's to stay at home.  I'm good at obeying danger....

May you all have a wonderful 2015...accomplish and enjoy all that you desire. Thanks for stopping by, I'll play catch up on your last weeks posts, when I come around to visit this week.

It's another day of juggling for me today....I have Lexi one side of me building with the Knex and Sam is the other side doing jigsaws so I'm popping round some of my favourite blogs while they play happily 😃
Brrrrr that all sounds really cold. I'd be with you on staying in the warm and enjoying some creative time 😃

With temperatures and winds like that, the best thing is to stay indoors and craft - definitely! Your story about the long time it takes for a project to get going rang bells with me That's just how I feel at the moment! Don't know where to start next :-)

Ooh, that's serious weather, and here's me moaning about our mild, damp weather over here in the UK! Your desk looks very organised, and I hope you get loads of creative crafting done during your 'stay indoors' time. Thanks so much for stopping by my desk, I hope you have a warm, safe week,

Your weather sounds like mine. We also are having about the same negative wind chills, and last night was the worst. Glad you are staying inside. I only ventured out to get my mail and take a photo of the freezing mess.

Had to laugh at the panda story, and I admire the fact you are already working on Valentine's Day. ME? I'm still stuck with Christmas ideas. Seems all my motivation comes right after the "big day."

Nice look to your desk today. Very neat and tidy. Happy belated New Year and happy WOYWW from # 2. And thanks, too for the earlier visit.

Love these glimpses of your work desk, Sylvia. I know what you mean about finishing projects. When I went to college, I told my married sister that I'd embroider some pillowcases for her. Well, it only took me 7 YEARS to get them done!! And I finally gave them to her, just to prove that I was a woman of my word. Ha ha

Its hard to imagine such cold when we are in the middle of summer. I must admit it doesn't sound like fun.
I have so many unfinished projects, its bordering on insanity. My hope is to at least finish some of them this year. Your desk looks so inviting.
Happy WOYWW!

Stay warm!!! It's been quite cold here but we're supposed to warm up this weekend and trade snow for rain. We shall see if they're right! Good luck with your organizing!!

Happy Crafting!

Good for you for finally getting the job done, see what happens when you persist. Gosh that is really cold weather do stay warm, we are the opposite here with heat waves, severe storms and bushfires that have now been extinguished but many homes lost. Good luck with your sorting.

Happy WOYWW

I do keep a lot of my holiday crafting stuff separated together. I use sterilite tubs with the flat lids and the handles that come up and click into place. They nest well on top of one another. I don't keep the paper there, but the ribbon/ embellishments/ stickers are all together. My stamps are sorted into drawers by holiday. I'll be making some changes there when I move into the new studio this spring.

I smiled at your 'Panda' project. I do things like that too. I have just found an embroidery project I started 10 yrs ago. I've decided to finish it (and I am actually in the process)
My Christmas craft stuff goes in several big boxes and my dearly beloved then carts it all to the garage and stores it on the highest shelf. Next holiday season he kindly takes it all down for me again....
Your weather sounds awful! Do keep warm.
Have a great week,
