WOYWW #426

Welcome, I'm so happy to be back. It's been quite a long time.  Our summer has had a full schedule.
Those on Facebook know I've been visiting for 2 wks my son in Virginia.  The first week just had fun hanging out with family and learning their schedule as the next week I was in charge.   I took care of the 3 grand girls while they went to the Dominican Republic to celebrate their 40th birthdays.

Our schedule was hectic with Swimming competition practice each morning, Kumon (math/reading) summer school 4x a week, and Martial Arts 4x a week  Driving a new car, learning the directions,  using 6 lanes of traffic , and dealing with 90/100 degrees temps and high humidity was all a challenge for this Grandma.  But with the grace of God, a helper Sarah, we made it, had fun and created lasting memories.  AND we won the SWIM meet.  My sons plane was cancelled Friday so they were unavailable for the meet Saturday, which was 40 miles North in super busy traffic and I was the one who had to get them there on time.  I wanted a licences plate that said "IOWA GRANDMA"   things here are a lot different on the hi-ways !

Almost for got to post that Julia at the STAMPING GROUND is our host for our Wednesday peeping about others workspaces.  All are welcome to join in, and details are on her blog.

I have enjoyed my time home, appreciating the quietness of our area, and resting up.  I lost 10 lbs, have started a daily walking routine and have been enjoying my crafty space and some new arrivals.

 My new painting/coloring/stenciling  area...
 Some new stamps and dies
and Tim Holtz  CityScapes Suburbia   WOW  tiny pieces I loved some of the things I've seen made with this set, but this was trying.  I cut 2 of each, one for a sample and one I hope to use  The hardest part was gluing together.  I actually think the "BIRDS"  would be easier.  I've been intimidated by them since I bought them, but actually think I WILL get started with them next week. I love the finished ones I've seen.
Then I kept the grouping together and placed them in small vinyl card cases Lots of tiny pieces

Thanks for visiting, I will be around for sure, I did pop in and out, but using a cellphone isn't the easiest for leaving comments etc.   Have a great week

I"m glad you are having a good summer! Your desk looks amazing as usual and you seem to have so many areas in your space for doing different things. Wow, just look at all those new dies. You will be having so much fun!

The traffic out East is so different from the Midwest, right? I'm glad you made it okay. I really like the way your workdesk areas are organized. I need to do some of that too!

When I click on your link at WOYWW I get sent back to Stamping Ground. I found your blog doing a search for the name.

Sounds like you had a very busy trip - lovely to have had the time to spend with your grandchildren - but nice to be home again with some quiet time to craft I'm sure!

Congrats on getting through the "Grandma in charge" days and on your 10-lb. loss. Both are great accomplishments!

No wonder you lost 10lbs with all the heat and stress. Well done you! Love your new stamp/stencil area especially the great shelving units. I have that die set and I haven't dared use it yet. Thanks for the tip about the small wallets for bits. Sarah #12

I know you enjoyed your busy family time very much but I understand also the enjoyment of getting back to your quieter place! I'm the same if I go to London - love seeing the sights but am oh so happy when it's time to get back on the train home :-D
Well done on the weight loss and walking, you're an inspiration!

Happy Very Belated WOYWW. Well done for surviving your grandmother duties - that sounded like a really busy/tiring week. Me and hubby have not been brave enough to take our eldest granddaughter by ourselves (she is 3). 30 minutes with her is enough for me! Those new dies definitely look fiddly. I always hated the pushing out of all the little bits in dies - rarely use them now. Ali x #20
