Welcome, so much has happened since last week. Today you can visit creative spaces as it is Wednesday and hostess Julia has info HERE on her blog.
YouTube, online reading on ONE DRIVE has maybe helped me with my photo issues YEAH!!
My desk for this week :
Some new stamps and coloring using copics. I find they work the best on all types of paper. These were really practice papers for the envelopes below.
Had to make a sympathy card. My DH friend who died unexpectedly and we traveled to Cedar Rapids for the funeral Saturday. Staying with Son and family overnight was a delight we needed . The services were so very nice. Some clergy can make you feel so good a about "Celebrating the Life Lived"
This was a quick birthday card before we left for another blogging friend. The papers were so pretty I just embellished with a flower in front and mailed it before we left. I really NEED to make cards and create a stash, instead of this last minute stuff.
On Thursday Three towns were hit by tornadoes just south of us 70 miles....one town Marshalltown had major damages to the downtown area, (a niece and friends live there) the next area wiped out 3 large production buildings of Vermeer Mfg near Pella my brother only lives 20 miles from here and the 3rd went thru a new housing area in Bondurant. Sometimes where my grand daughter plays softball. There were 27 funnel clouds reported by CNN in Iowa that day. And no reported deaths.
And all family and friends were spared damages. Clean up, clearing downed trees and repairing poles for much needed electricity continues.
May you all have a wonderful week, Thanks to all who visited, with all the chaos after last weeks posting I had no extra time to visit. I apologize and will try to do better this week.

It makes such a difference when a celebrant can really lift a funeral service like that - it can help hugely. I'm sorry it was a sudden shock like that, hope your DH is ok. Wow, three tornadoes sounds terrible, I'm glad that there was no loss of life in amidst all the chaos. I sincerely hope there are no more and none your way.
Hugs LLJ 11 xx
So sorry for your loss, a loving funeral service can indeed bring comfort and ease some of the pain... it is too hot in the Netherlands this Summer to do much art but you just gave me the idea for a nice thing to do: make cards! They are reasonable size, I can sit still on my desk and make a much needed stash, thanks for the inspiration! Warm(!) hug from Holland, Marit #21
Really sorry to hear of your loss. Love the cards you’ve made. Glad the tornadoes didn’t cause loss of life....nature can be so scary.
Hugs,

Thank goodness no one was killed by the tornados Sylvia. It sounds like you've had a week and a half. Love the way you've decorated the envelopes to put the finishing touches to the cards. Have a better week. Sarah #13
Lovely projects this week. I am sorry that your hubby lost his friend.
And, so glad that you and your family survived all the tornadoes with just a little damage. We get tornadoes here, too, and strong winds that damage that they don't call tornadoes! Hope next week is calmer for you. Thanks for stopping by earlier. #25
I've seen quite a few photos of the Vemeer Plant and parts of the city. Amazing the damage and a miracle more people weren't hurt. Glad you and yours are ok. Great decorating of the envelopes to go with the cards. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

That sympathy card is stunning. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week. Love Caro x (#20)
Wow- that's a lot of tornadoes, glad no one was hurt. We had a few funnel clouds in Ontario recently, but nowhere near us. The scariest thing that happened this week was that there was a shooting in Toronto, 13 people shot, 3 dead including the shooter and a 10 year old girl, which happened about 3 blocks from where my daughter lives. They are now voting to ban ALL GUNS and ammunition from Toronto! I hope it passes. Anyway, this has nothing to do with art.
So sorry to hear of your friend's passing, your cards are beautiful. My BFF's mother in law passed last week, I haven't sent anything yet, even though I have 2 cards ready to go. I find it so difficult. I should probably send them. It certainly is handy to have cards like this ready to send. Have a good week, stay away from funnel clouds! Lindart #32
The sympathy card is beautiful and I love the quick card you made with that lovely paper - it looks like a lot of effort went into it. Thank goodness you and yours weren't affected by the tornadoes - they sound a little too close for comfort.
Hope you have a good week, tornado-free!

your desk looks very neat and organised. Thank you for visiting Karen#23
Hello Sylvia. Oh my - what a week you have had. Sorry to hear about your friend. When a person has faith it is always good to celebrate the life well lived, isn't it. I was so glad to read that no deaths were reported in the storms and tornadoes. Your cards re beautiful - I just love that swallow on the final one. It is sometimes really difficult to get ahead with cards, isn't it? I always think I want to keep some in reserve - but then I rarely do!
Take care. God bless.

Oh my Sylvia your week really has seen lots of changes. Good news that there was little damage during the tornado's and that people were safe. The weather really is being very unpredictable at present.
That's a very sweet stamp which could be used for many occasion, I need to have a day or two making some cards for my own person use as i'm running very low.
Happy WOYWW & take care Tracey #6
I wrote a really long comment and the internet ate it.
I heard about the tornadoes and saw the damage on TV. Sorry about your DH's friend, but sounds like the funeral was good.
I love your cards. I can't believe those were practice cards with the copics. They are fabulous. Happy WOYWW from # 1.
Weather has been intense- and the rain has everything lovely and green- I'll take that over drought. Thanks for the look around! Robyn 27
I have to go to a funeral service on Friday for a friend who died very suddenly and unexpectedly. Hope it is also an uplifting celebration of her life. I now what you mean about trying to get ahead on cardmaking. I sometimes make two when I make for someone specific and set the extra card aside for another birthday. That helps a bit. Enjoy the rest of your week.
As always I love your desk space. Lovely card you created. I don't play well with markers of any kind so your coloring skills fascinate me. I followed some of the news about all those tornadoes you speak of! We had one day last week with severe storms and my weather radio went off for a tornado warning. Thankfully I only had some limbs blow out of a few trees. But hot, hot, hot!
Hi Sylvia, that is a lovely card. So elegant. Good to hear no-one was hurt in all that mayhem.Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 xXx
Glad to hear your friend's service was nice. It's hard enough but when the services are done correctly, you sure do feel good. Have a great week. Dorlene #34
Hi Sylvia, sorry I am rather late returning your visit. Thank you for your sympathy, sounds as if you need some too, an unexpected death can be a big shock. So pleased the funeral you went to was a real celebration of a life well lived and that card you made is beautiful.

My word Sylvia, it’s a small miracle that nobody was killed in all that weather, across such a vast area again....this summer has been all about extremes hasn’t it...whenever we discuss the extremes of weather I think of you and offer up thoughts for your safety...Iowa seems to have really bought it this year! I have built up a stash of cards and it is much easier...but sometimes I find myself regretting not making time to tailor make a card...so the guilt goes on anyway!! The cards are lovely. we lost my sweet Father in Law last week and I am able to confirm that thoughtful and beautiful cards like ours are really a great help. Every one that arrives surprises my Mother in Law and gives her comfort.
Hi Sylvia, thanks for your visit on Wednesday. Making sympathy cards is always a sad thing to do - yours turned out beautiful - classy and understated! I really like the colourful birthday card for a happier occasion. Lucky nobody was hurt in the tornadoes - you guys are probably well prepared for such eventuality in that part of the world. We can't even deal with a bit of drought here LOL! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! zsuzsa #12
