A Sketch and Color Challenge

A color challenge at The Play Date Cafe  PDCC #80   and isnt' it lusious..beautiful poppies I think.

The gals at Verve Stamps are having lots of things going on. April Showers Bring May Flowers and this Sketch Challenge:

Which I thought looked so fun.  For my card I distressed the edges, for a little Shabby goodness, then  layered a paper doily, added some sweet buttons, a Senitment from Verve on a Wonky Die,  and added the May Flowers which are from Verve stamps and I cut out and layered them.
Sometimes I think the hardest part of making a layered card is choosing all the papers to blend together. I guess it isn't hard it is just time consuming. and I debate and debate.

Be sure to stop over to both blogs, the DT's have some really fun inspirational designs.
Thanks for stopping by, and may you have a wonderful, fun filled day.  And all the Blessings of a        Very Happy Mother's Day.

Happy 2nd Anniversary Simon Says "Anything Goes"

Click here to go to the Simon Says Entry .Simon Says Challenge
Some mix up in blog address previously.

IT'S WOYWW TIME

This is WOYWW Wednesday. The day of peeping into others fun blogs and seeing what they have on their workdesk.  Thanks to Julia at the Stamping Ground we seem to enjoy peeping about others things.  So if your interested, pop over and enjoy your time peeping at others stuff.

I have some groupings of papers waiting for me to decided what layout I will use upon entering these into some  color challenges. So must get movin on this as some deadlines will be expiring.

On the table to the left is an assortment of new products, (inks, mists, dabbers, etc) I purchased a while back and have yet had time to sit and play. I did go to the Ranger U  website and printed out how information sheets on how to use these. Did you know they even have labels to use for the Distress Inks?  I need to print those off as I stack mine and frustrating to quickly find what I want to use. But then why are are we always in a hurry?

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy a wonderful week.  April Showers have left us and now we finally have Sunshine, only the 50's, but May flowers are budding a bit.

New Challenges

Good Morning all. What a truly BRIGHT, SUNNY  Morning. It's been a LONG time. Just pumps you up and gets that MoJo moving. Hoping I can be outside when it warms up a bit. I see my fern peony is about 1 ft high and must check to see if tulips have any chance of blooming.

My card today

I don't usually use grey or lime green so thought this would be a good challenge for me to try.
I framed my pattern paper, distressed the edges and mended the makings of a flower. Added the sentiment "Blessings of Joy" . I thought this might make a nice Mother's Day card for one of my daughter-in-laws.  They  both are Blessings of Joy for loving my sons and being wonderful Mothers,
keeping a happy home and making family life so important.

Some NEW fun challenges:
The Play Date Cafe  Challenge PDCC79 has a Color Challenge

Just Add Ink Challenge JAI 66 "Just Add a Flower"

The Ribbon Reel  Challenge #1 "Pick a Color" from this combo  ( I used the red, green)

ABC DT Challenge  "April Showers Bring May Flowers"     (lets hope so!)

Well, thanks for stopping by, may you have a wonderful week.

Happy Anniversary with Flowers/Butterflies/Springtime

I dream of Flowers/Butterflies/Springtime...none of it is in our area yet. Day after Day of dreary, wind, and cold.  But this card helped my frame of mind.

I distressed the edges of the card and added a lovely paper with punched corners. Some pearls and 4 different sized butterflies.
I used some pleated ribbon, made a white felt flower and popped in on top of a paper flower, and some layers of leaves. It calls Springtime to me.

Challenges for this Card:
Simon Says Stamp  "Anything Goes"  But it is their 2nd Anniversary. So Happy Anniversary.
Verve Stamps  "April Showers Brings May Flowers"

Some items left from a card making episode for a few challenges. Springtime on my desk, but no signs of it outside as yet. It is cold, dreary and depressing.  Sunshine took a hike and has not been around for quite sometime.

Color and Crochet Trim Challenge

Embellish  has a Challenge Using this as Inspiration with Crochet Trim:

My card layers were distressed,  butterflies were layered and popped up. My homemade flower was cut with the Sizzex Flower die and placed on a crocheted piece, with other sparkle and embellishments, my card went together easy. The card and the little Sentiment "Happiness is Found in Simple Things" reminds me so much of my two grandmothers, Sylvia and Anna,  who I am named after. Their life was not Simple, but they got by with Simple Things and were very happy.

I spent a LOT of time with my grandparents, I loved the attention and they always had projects to keep me busy.  We all lived close by so it was like a daily stop to one or the other. It is something I truly miss with my grandchildren so far away. Creating Memories.

Pop on over to Embellish and check out the very pretty designs the DT  have created.

Thanks for stopping by. I sincerely hope you are having some Sunshine. It is dark and dreary and misty rain today.  I truly think I should take a vacation to warmer climate and when I return our Spring will have come to stay.

Soft and Lovely

I love this color combo

It is the challenge for CR84FN24

I made the flower from Sizzex flower dies, distressed the edges of my papers, added some lace, seam binding bow and other embellishments.

This card can be used for almost any occasion. Hop on over to CR84FN and see the lovely designs by the DT.  They always have a fun Color Combo Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, I've been MIA, spent 3 days visiting my son and family. And helping Dad with follow up medical visits.  I just know if we get some warm, sunny weather, he will out in his yard and have a lot less medical issues.

Almost the weekend, and lots to do to catch up.

No Words of April 19th

No words can describe IOWA weather!!  We have a ground full of white snow. I-35 has warnings, and points east icy roads.  Could get 7 inches.  Our electricity was off earlier and I have accomplished nothing.

This is "Harley" a 9 month old Brittany, who wanted me to be his best friend, while visiting my son and family.  Thursday and Friday it was WINDY, Friday it POURED down rain and Saturday WET, HEAVY, SNOW.   Harley loved this weather, just as if it was the 1st snowfall.
Had a wonderful time visiting, shopping and celebrating my grandson's 3rd birthday, despite the weather. Attended 2 soccer practices for granddaughter and the oldest grandson but the games were cancelled on Sat.  Thank goodness for small favors.
Now that the electricity is back, I hope to go down and sort thru all the "GOODIES" I purchased. I decided  in a lifetime, I could never use  all the "STUFF" I have accumulated, or create all the ideas that run thru this head of mine.
Hope all is well with your and yours. I hope you have warm sunshine and Spring time conditions.
I am thankful, we  have had no property damages as some of the Carolina people etc.

Thanks for stopping by, I should be up and running with WOYWW tomorrow.

WOYWW #97

How Quickly it comes the Wednesday for Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Julia at the

Stamping Ground started this peeping around people's desk and we all just love it.  Maybe a little embarressed sometimes at how really messy and unorganized we can be.  But hey, thats life, you only go around once and who sees it in your house anyway?   Just the peepers here!! And we all live to have fun and create right?  So here goes.

It doesn't look tooooooo bad.. I took the little white basket my sis gave me for organizational purposes and just jammed everything tossed about into this unbeleivable empty basket.  A quick fix for today.
Have lots to do...I am leaving to spend a few days with my son and family. My grandson CASH will be 3 yrs old.  And  his mother's birthday is the same day.  So lots of festivities.  I volunteered to watch the 3 kids one night so they can go out and enjoy a "DATE NIGHT"   and I get to have time with them alone.  My DH has to stay behind, he has tractors are lining the yard with planters, wagons and diggers attached for cleaning and fixing as it is almost time to hit the fields.  And he has 4 baby calves due the next few days.  Sometimes I think he likes his time alone too.
Enjoy the peep about and have a great week ahead.  I'll be back to report of my shopping ventures in the City.

Just Rite !

I loved the Color Combo for this Friday Challenge at JustRite Stampers #052

It was such fun colors to work with. No doubt I will use them again sometime. I have a little file that I keep color combo's in and sometimes I really have been happy I've kept them up to date.

My creation isn't really a card, it will be given with an easel for displaying to a dear friend who loves color and flowers.  I will finish off the back with Well Wishes and Signatures.
So I used a matte board for the background. Layered papers and added the JustRite Birthday Sentiment, a layered flower, some butterflies, trim and ribbon works and sparkles.

One Other Challenge:
Flourishes Bring Back Beautitufl "The Beauty of Spring Colors"
Thanks for stopping by, I wish you a wonderful week ahead.

Color Trends and Decorative Trim

Embelish Magazine  has the Challenge to use Decorative Trim and  a Color Trend.

Color has so many hues, and trying to match color is a little tricky. I tried several but this is what I eneded up with.

I distressed the card and paper edges added some vintage trim, distressed some seam binding and a
little tattered rose. I love the little Spring saying by Helen Hayes, and I added the little bird.
I love these challenges.  It was a fun card to make and a great challenge.

May you and yours have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

Feminine Vintage Spring

Thanks for stopping by. May you and yours have a wonderful weekend. I hope you have Spring time days.  It's slow getting to our area this year and so very gloomy todaym, but we have lots of activities so will be out and about.

Thoughts of Easter

My card was so fun to make. It is 4x4 and very simple. Plan to make several for grandchildren in different colors.

I love the cute little Inkadinkado Bunny Stamp, his big ears just make me smile, I cut him out and popped him up. The sentiment is Verve, the sparkly eggs, ric rac, yarn are all from my stash.

WOYWW #96

Seems Wednesday is the fastest day we have. It's here instantly.
Julia at the Stamping Ground has this thing we all get excited about on Wednesday's', that kinda lets the snoopyness in all of us take hold. Stop over and just enjoy a few trips about, never know what you'll see to inspire you.

Here are the purchases of a quick trip to our close by town.  Went to 2 antique stores and a resale shop.  Got some really old greeting cards, and an old tattered book, Charlie Brown's framed R I P,
some buttons, pins, lace, fiber, zippers that all fit in a little brown bag for under $5.00.
Now what fun can that be ?
Thanks for stopping by, I enjoy all your great comments.  May you have a wonderful week. I'm off to see the Wizard.
