How Sweet It IS

Oh some sweet designs and inspiration by the Design Team at
The Shabby Tea Room  Week #55  "Flower Palette"  and this  Inspiration Photo

Wow isn't it pretty.  I saw White, Soft Blue Dots, Green, Pink, a Bird.  My card  has a little Shabbiness to it.  I used some floral lace, an embossing folder on the card, with distressed ink.
The floral..different layers and shapes, some distressed seam binding with a little love sentiment.
The bird is a rub on and he fit so nicely. A few swirls and pearls.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are enjoying a Sunshiny day. It is gloomy here looks like rain, so it has been fun working with some bright spring colors.   Enjoy

Brightly Spring

LilyBean's Paperie  has a colorful inspiration image from  A Creative Mint.  Melissa shows so many soft and colorful designs.  Everything she puts together just melts your heart.

I am disappointed in the color with this photo, but I tried 3x and nothing changes, the flowers are really 2 tone shades and quite dark here.  I used an embossing folder than sanded to show the design.  Used different layers of dies for the flowers. Melissa's butterfly with a little tulle behind it.
Distressed the seam binding, I have 50 shades of blue, teal and none really worked, seemed too dark or too light.

Was fun to use the inspiration image maybe the dark and gloomy day we are having has something to do with this photo.  Thanks for stopping by.

Good with Tools, Repairs Finished.

Earlier post I had problems with my Sewing Machine...took it yesterday to a place  that cleans and repairs and it had CLOSED UP.      OUT OF BUSINESS.
So I unloaded it, brought it to the kitchen, where there is some good light and took it apart.

I lost my Manual in a flood a few years back, so I ordered one off Ebay.. It came as a CD Rom.
I just printed it off as my computer is in another room and I need directions in front of me to remember.

Yesterday when we were out I purchased  a Can of COMPRESSED GAS DUSTER to remove dust from my computer fan. And guess what I had to show and ID and answer questions. Seems this is something people buy to Sniff and get high !!!  I was about in shock. ALL I want to do is clean, not smell anything and not be high.  It took a lot of dust out of this project.

I used  Q-tips, soft micro fabrag, the air can and put it back together. Put in a new needle and it is working.  Saved $50.  So I am back in business.  In high school I ranked #1 in mechanical A.C.T. tests, I out ranked all our guys. Thanks goes to my dad. always letting me experiment and never afraid to show me how things were put together. He never had much patience, so you had to do it right the first time.  I honestly believe I had more tools when 6 yrs ago I married my husband who repairs farm machinery, but mine are one a smaller scale.

So never be afraid to experiment. Take charge and "GET ER DONE"  Did you know Larry the Cable Guy has a program on the History Channel?  Here on Tues nights 8PM  CDT. He visits lots of places across the USA..last night was NASA, Wis. Dells, Las Vegas. It is quite interesting.

Have a great inventive day.

WOYWW #95

WOW...WOYWW..Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday..is here so quickly each week. Julia at the
Stamping Ground  started this fun venture. So if you are interested in snooping..stop over. It is fun.

I feel a little embarrassed about my desk..but it has been a whirlwind here.  In a previous post I spoke of using stitching on my cards. Yesterday after trying to get my machine to work, I decided to take it to the repair shop to be cleaned and adjustments made. Well the place has closed their business.  I had this little one stowed away from years back and messed with it enough to get it to work and did use it to stitch on a card. Left and never cleaned up after myself.

We have no shopping close by, so we spend most of a day when we "GO SHOPPING" and we always love to have lunch while we are there. So it's catch up time on Wed. I will have to reorganize before I can get back to creating and find a new repair shop.  No doubt would be easier to buy a NEW Machine only if money were no object. Those of you who stitch on cards so you need to use a certain kind of needle??
And if you think my desk is bad...here is the floor.

Shopping still unopened and I do have some spring treasures in that bag.  So best I get to picking up.
Thanks for stopping by,  enjoy your little tour, and have a really great day.
We are on a warm up....oh thank you heavens above.

WOW First Stitching and a Zipper Flower

I love seeing stitching on cards. The People who do this have my blessing.
I made a sign a few weeks ago to remind myself to use stitching. After an hour of not getting my machine to work properly. I packed it up and it will be on the way to sewing machine hospital in the AM.  I had a small craft sewing machine from years ago so I put it together, dusted it off, tried to find the book, and after 20 minutes I got it to work. I don't think  I am quite ready for this.  Heck I'm not one to read instructions, how could I be ready. I just work on the fly. Experiment!!!!!

I think sewing on paper is some God given talent at the moment.
But I promise myself  to practice..just like commiting to exercising, will see how it works out.

My card has some stitching to the left, some stitching holes to the right.

The Zipper flower is easy and there are many tutorials on this. There is a site listed at " Just Us Girls"  if you are interested.  I just found bits and pieces related to stitching and used for the card.

Entering it into the following challenges:
"Just Us Girls" Challenge #77   " 3-D and a Zipper Flower"
Sugar Creek Hollow   "Sensational Stitching"            ( sensational? don't know if I qualify !! ! !)
The Kraft Journal   Challenge #12   "Flowers".
Fussy and Fancy Friday  Week #33  "Zipper or a Feather"
Creative Belli Blog    "Think Seamstress"   (most everything here is Old)

All of these have some great inspiration on creating some lovely projects.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the week .

I think my signature has taken a vacation..don't see it at the moment.   Enjoy

PS:  didn't post this the day I created it...took my sewing machine to the fix it shop and a note on the door...CLOSED...building for lease.   Now Searching!!!!

Quite Tiny

I love tiny..have always created "Tiny" things over the years. I think it is the Challenge of thinking small.  An ATC is a 2.5 x 3.5 trading card.  Some attach it to a card or a tag for further dimension.

My ATC  has a Kraft backing, embossed a Chocolate paper, did some stitching on the side added a few elements from my Little Treasures box (curled wire, sparkle, bead, scraps of lace, ribbon, netting cut from TH floral die, a brad and a crocheted flower) and a little tag sentiment.

For the following challenges:
Our Creative Corner   Make an ATC  with this Color Palette picking one color from the end.

Make sure to hop on over and see the instructions and take a peek at some really great talent by their design team.

The Kraft Journal Challenge #12  "Flowers"   Elizabeth has some very pretty displays by the DT there

Tuesday Throwdown #42  "Florals"   Kim has posted some darling cards by the DT

Joans Gardens  "Tag Challenge"  Weekly Tags and some beautiful displays by all

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy whatever it is that makes you happy. Life is to Live.

Color Trends with Masculine Design

Embellish Magazine always has some fun challenges. This time it is "Masculine Color Trends"

So the card I created was made from a Fishing Themed Kit by Crafts Etc. My only problem was it was not the color scheme. So I added some striped paper for the background.  I think men like stripes, we give them ties, shirts, and paper  with stripes and they don't seem to complain.
Then I took the frame and made the fishing flys red and blue by using stickles, added the big trout,
you can use flys for them, amongest many other things for bait.

Did you know that many men and no doubt some women make their own Flys? It is a big hobby with many fisherman. And the supplies are endless bits of fibers.  I miss the weekend "Trout" my sons use to bring home.  It is truly good eating.

Thanks for stopping by you will have to stop by Embellish and see the great designs their Design Team put together. Some great inspiration.   Enjoy the weekend and hope you get to enjoy some fun hobby.

Little Tags for Little Children

I have made 2 tags, one for an upcoming "Girl Baby Shower" and one for a niece's new "Little Boy" Hayden.

What fun they were to make. I think the bright spring colors and I love little rabbits.  The papers, and chipboard are Debbie Mumm's collections.  Fiber and buttons from my Little Treasures stash.
Notice the tiny little pink bunny  button near the rattle.  He's been around a while, but his little friends went on to other places so if you love something you must let it go, somewhere along the line.! !

Entering them into the following Challenges:
Joans Gardens  #11 Anything goes
My Partner in Crafting Crime Challenge #23  3 or more Buttons
City Crafter Challenge Week #49  Babies, Buttons, Bows
Tuesday Throwdown #41  Anything but a Card
Cooking It Up with Katie #54  Animals and Colorful Buttons
Creative Inspirations #104  No Square Cards
Truly Scrumptious  #53  Tag It
Totally Gorjuss #72  Button It

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the weekend.

Spring Beauty

I loved this BRIGHT color combo

A Citrus Celebration over at the Moxie Fab World 's Tuesday Trigger. So my card came about after some more inspiration from my BHG magazine.

It was warm enough to go out and find some small little twigs. I made a form of sturdy paper for the vase and covered it with the dotted pattern paper. Layered some MS butterflies onto the branches.

Might just put it on an easel until the need arrives to use it for a card for someone this springtime.

Other Challenges for this include:
Paper Sundaes #61  Embossing.  I did the little butterflies
Flutter by Wednesday #147  must have butterfly, fairy, angel  but Open Challenge
Little Red Wagon #73  Butterflies

Thanks for stopping by Enjoy the Color of your area. Have a great weekend.

WOYWW

It's that time again Wednesday, What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. A fun feature Julia at the
Stamping Ground started and it has grown by leaps and bounds.  People love to look at other peoples STUFF ! ! !

The time comes around so quickly, when I took the picture I couldn't believe I still had card entry
remains from last week laying about. But I had a few days of sinus and no MOJO and this week my dad is back in the hospital. And my son and family are to arrive in Tokyo today on plane layover.

Notice I did make myself a sign with big letters   USE Stitching on your cards.  I never remember and I love it on others creations. AND the sewing machine is left of my desk ready to go. Maybe I am brain dead..

Can you guess what the picture below is?

I cleaned out some cupboards..and had a few Coffee Pods in a bag..I gave the Coffee Machine to my nephew  last year as we never used it.  So I tried to use the coffee from them. Don't do it..really bad
But I took these apart to see how they were made.  Cut the tip  could be a small funnel, put the tip on top could be top of a cupcake with a candle decorated in one of my paper projects.

Must cut this short lots of thunder, lightening, and a tornado watch, need to shut this down before electricity goes off and I lose my computer..

Thanks for stopping by, stop over to the Stamping Ground and have some fun peeping around.

Pink, Green, SPRING

The challenges are all about Pink, Green, Spring and being Thankful.  I will be very THANKFUL when Spring gets here.  Working with all the colors and themes has helped know it's about to pop with beauty.

My card was made by using the Tim Holtz Floral Die, then I added a rolled piece to form the center by using a Scalloped Cirlce Die from Spellbinders. I used the Fancy Tag Die from Spellbinders and Sizzix Die for the leaves. There is some distress ink scattered about the flower, doily and pink papers.

This was made for the following challenges:
Joans Gardens Challenge #10  Use the colors Pink and Green, Create a thank you card, Use some kind of stripes ,Use something scalloped  (doily)
The Pink Elephant "Spring Time" TPE95
Stampin' B's  Challenge #102  "Thank You card using Spring Colors. MUST use Pink on your card"

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy today and what the coming week has to offer.
Right now we have Thunder, Lightening, Rain. It was too cloudy here to see the "BIG MOON"
but maybe the rain will clean things up a bit and start the grass growing and the flowers blooming!!

SPRING IS NEAR

Melissa Phillips blog  LilyBean's Paperie is one of my most favorite stops each day. I need the inspiration and she never fails me.  She wanted to see where this photo would take our creativity.

Photo courtesy of Leslie at A Creative Mint)

Basicly everything was pretty much from my Little Treasures Box, bits and pieces. The Sentiment is Papertrey Ink  "Handwritten Notes" one of my favorite. A EF on the kraft card and then just layers of this and that.

When I first read about this. I planned to STITCH somewhere on my card. Well it never happened. I am making a sign to put on my work table USE STITCHING..I think it adds so much to a card but have yet to try it.  Maybe my next post.

Check out Melissa's post...you will love her divine work. Colors will capture your heart and all the itty bitty fun details will make you take a second and third look.
AND she stitches ! ! ! !

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend.  We are having WIND..temps in the 50's but ..
you would still have to be dressed for cold.  I just keep telling myself "SPRING IS NEAR".  Enjoy

SPRING

Joans Gardens  Challenge #9  to  Use the colors orange and blue
Create a card with a spring theme  - Use a die cut  -  Use a circle

I used my Spellbinders Scalloped Border, Mary Engelbreit Punch Outs for the Sentiment and Little Birds, other items from my Little Treasures box of goodies, flowers, button, circle tag and scrunched seam binding.    Orange is not a fav, but seemed to enjoy it with the blue.

May you all have a wonderful weekend, at the rate I am going I might not be back in blog land until I feel some what better.  I don't like being under the weather but whatever I have has zapped my energy levels.  Thanks for stopping by. And it does seem SPRING is almost here.

WOYWW with SUNSHINE

Here it is Wednesday already, kind of a wasted week for me so far. I've been M I A with some kind of not feeling so well parts of my body each day since Sunday. Today it is Sinus/Headaches. Any remedies?? I could use something.

But the SUN is Shining brightly and to be temps into the 60's...no green here yet, but I bet tomorrow there will be GREEN a lot of places. We usually try to find Cornbeef and Cabbage meal someplace. Kinda a St Pat's tradition, and a green beer to make a toast, for some great Blarney thoughout the coming months.  Hope I'm able to join in..I hate not feeling well.

Have some fun today on W. hats O. n Y. our W. orkdesk  W.ednesday. Julia at Stamping Ground started this a while back and it is quite the fun. Lots of great desks, fun comments, and quite the way to meet some wonderful people.

Pretty clean, haven't been there to make a mess. A few inquired about my shelfs in back. They all came from garage sales or resale shops. I love to find Little Treasures and pay very little.  The one shaped like a triangle had a tag on back "Christmas SS-75" and I think I saw it in a catalog like Miles Kimball or Collections. The middle one was for storing music tapes, and the right is sitting backwards and was a shelf for displaying whatever.
When I go "Browsing" I tend to look at displays more than product.  I love ideas and turning things into something they were not intended for. I purchased the little steel desk organizer (left) for 50 cents this weekend and it is holding various paints.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful time visiting all the WOYWW creators and enjoy your day.
Maybe even say a little prayer for the people in Japan and surrounding areas. Truly so sad. It affects all of us in some way.

Now I am praying for my Niece, her Husband and 2 children  they are being evacuated someplace to safety I hope. Love you guys so much.

May the people of Japan and other areas find peace, comfort, love and safety thru all of this disaster.

Be ever so Thankful Each Day for what we have.

WOYWW - Let the Peeping Begin

The time sure gets away, here it is WOYWW and I have not yet been able to "TIDY UP" the day before I post my picture. Truthfully it was VERY clean last Friday, but I've posted a LOT of cards since then.  It's almost time for "WEARIN of the GREEN". Since I am of CZECH/GERMAN hertiage we just JOIN in the party.  Actually I don't think there is much IRISH blood in our little area. But we are 99% Catholic and not much other activities in our area so we create a PARTY at the local Pub for almost anything. But the past year we seem to have AGED  so we are home pretty early!!! !!

So I have been working with some "GREEN" and some of the cutest little images.  It's fun to be "IRISH" for a day.  We have a town 40 miles away that is 90% Irish Heritage, they have a Parade, Irish Stew, and lots Music and Celebrations. It is TRUE WEARIN OF THE GREEN. I think they even get the day after has a Holiday to recuperate.

I believe it is WOYWW #92, if unfamiliar stop over to Stamping Ground and see what Julia has going on. It is very fun, lots of entries, new people to meet, and many great ideas from all.
Also check out her PiF coming up in May that should be a real fun project.
Thanks for stopping by, have fun touring. I love all your comments and hope you have a wonderful day.  I'm happy, we are to miss the BIG STORM..but 2 to 4 inches of snow predicted here, the good news is warm temps 40's will be here for the weekend.  HIP, HIP, HOORAY..
