WOYWW #408

Welcome to What's On Your Workspace Wednesday.  It's really late Tuesday here, hoping to schedule this blog post and post it to Julia, our hostess for this weekly gathering at the  STAMPING GROUND   Again new computer messes I have been dealing with. I had to take my photos on my Cell phone and  send them to my email and save them in some file I've never heard of.  My photo file is inaccessible.  I cannot download to my hard drive by my phone or my USB card. I've even tried to do it on my laptop which is Windows 10 and I don't like it.     I have a major headache.

My first photo is from the desk I was doing some watercolor backgrounds and tiny tags using chalk. The manila tag has the flower stencil done with gesso and waiting to be colored. I been wanting to do more water coloring, but every time I get distracted with "Life".
My crafty desk is full of tiny little things to color. Julia has been playing with Tim Holtz's BIRDS and I've had them stashed away and never opened. She really got me motivated on this. And I loved working with his rubber stamps, so very easy to clean up and the tiny accessories die cut great. Now will color and put together for some fun cards. Loving the little green pick, it helped a lot with the die cuts.
Also in the background I was working with some rubber stamps I won and never got them attached to the sticky backing to use.  I love the girl image and the aqua was a pretty background. Just disappointed I could not photo these better.
Here it is Thursday and after putting in some time I was able to download my photos from my camera, so these are the same photos as above just bigger. It's been a computer battle, but I'm a bit happier today.

I did make a post on my Springtime in Paris ATC swap HERE if you are interested. Only 2 have stopped by to view it.  It was the last thing I've been able to download.

We actually were blessed with some sunshine today. It's been at least 4 days.  of cold, damp, windy, rain and fog.   Here's hoping things your way are filled with Sunshine and happy moments.
Thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW #407

Good Morning to you,  it's not been a good morning here, it's 4 A.M. have had issues loading photos for my post, a little blue circle appears to be attached, spinning and either telling me something I don't understand or slowing down my system.

It's the day we share our desks, Julia at the STAMPING GROUND has been our hostess for 407 posts. Meeting people, sharing ideas, desks, fun projects, sad and happy times. It's like a Wednesday coffee time.  Only most of us have never met in person. We are located all over the world.

My desk photo salvaged from one of the previous week, making little coverings for the ATC's I just mailed. Possible photos in a few days if this problem subsides.

Normally I would have wet the flowers, crushed them up and assembled them, as I like that shabby look, but for mailing purposes I just left them a little flat. Postage has almost doubled since I retired and started mailing paper items.  Now when I mail it's not the weight it's the thickness.

I am hoping to take part of a day each week to make flowers, so many great videos out there. I have been Stamping more, but today those photos are still in waiting to load.  Technology...baffles my mind, it just takes over and does what it wants. HP sent an update message, my support runs out and they are offering discounts on new a purchase,  I truthfully didn't think this system is that old. I like what I have.

I'm off for some coffee and a dark chocolate, almond biscotti  seems to always brighten my day.
I sure hope you are having a good day, lots of sunshine, pretty flowers peeping through, and a fun day planned.  Enjoy your WOYWW visits.

WOYWW #406

So happy to have you visit. It's a sleepless night here for me, but did not have the chance to do a scheduled post Tuesday. Time got away from me and we had to meet up with my family to meet our new little addition. My niece and family were here from Mpls, so little 7 week old "Landry" came to meet us all.  In the excitement, I didn't even take a photo., will have to see if I can catch up with her before she leaves. How could I forget?  She is totally Precious.
I stole this photo from her mothers Facebook page, She is 10 lbs here and sleeps 8hrs thru the night.

It's now WOYWW , that means it's Wednesday, the day of sharing Workspaces, hosted by our lovely Juli at the STAMPING GROUND.  My desk:
I've had so much fun making the ATC's for a swap, but will have to wait a few days before I can post them.  So this is the clean up part. Plans today are to make a wrap for them for mailing.  I've seen so many fun ideas for homemade envelopes, I'd like to try a few.   On the previous post I have 2  items I've mailed off. A cupcake birthday card and a tag.

We had 8 inches of snow  Sunday and now are in a warm up so hopefully it melts and we are on our way to spring. I am so ready to be outdoors. We have a huge moon tonight and lots of stars shining, something about the quietness of night I love. Being retired, I can take a quick nap if I remain UP, when I finish this.

You all have a great week, enjoy the things we take for granted, and do what you love to do.
Thanks for stopping by this week.

Creating...

Welcome and thanks for stopping by.  I made a few cards for birthdays.

This one was for my sister, cut in the shape of a cupcake.
Sorry this is a bit blurry, but I put Happy Day within the cherry on top. And Happy Birthday to You inside.

And I sent this  tag off to a blogging friend.

WOYWW #405

Welcome, the time just flies by, just seems like I did this yesterday.  Our hostess, Julia at the
STAMPING GROUND invites us to share our work spaces on Wednesday's.  You can get the info to partake or visit by visiting her blog.

My desk this week:
Shows I was sorting buttons. The gold foil from my Valentine candy worked well for this project.
I cleaned up the desk from making some birthday cards, (will post later this week as the birthdays are not yet passed) and wanted to get these buttons put away in the jars I have by colors.  Guess I also have different coloring items (enlarge by clicking the photo:) for some coloring books/cards/etc.
The little black box is holding a big assortment of Tim Holtz paper dolls, couldn't resist the last package on the rack.

We are having a calm day compared to most of this week, several close by tornadoes hit our state.
We had 60 mph winds, rain and hail. Our farm was centered in the middle and we missed the worst of this. Many people in our little town had broken windows and damaged house siding and eaves. Damaged cars. Temps were 72, which is totally a record this time of year here.  No one was hurt so guess that is the best part.

Photo is showing hail compared to size of an orange. At my sister in laws south of here.
In town

Have a wonderful week ahead. Thanks to all who visited and left comments.

Happy March 1st

Welcome to this mornings blog, it's all about sharing of the workspace. Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted by Julia at the STAMPING GROUND. Pop over for the details and visit others by clinking their linky name.  It's addictive.

I'm actually posting mid morning due to a very good nights sleep. We were at the Tax man's appointment Tuesday and stopped for some of the dark beer at our Cinco De Mayo and watched our college team Iowa State win over Oklahoma State. It's been a very good college basketball season for me. One of my favorite pastimes.

I have actually been making some cards, which I sent off for a contest, so can't share the photos as yet.

Click the photo for a better snoop of the enlarged photo.

As said last week working on using "Stamps" using Pinterest for some great detailed ideas, which I hope today I can put together.  Weather here has turned cold and windy again so I'm staying in.

Short and sweet, hubby's calling breakfast is ready !!  WOW  he must be hungry

Thanks for stopping by and especially thank you for all the kind comments last week.. We had another funeral  and my visits were limited and Saturday our church circle hosts the luncheon for the 2nd one.

WOYWW # 403

Welcome, it's  late here in the USA, I had to stay up and watch a college basketball game, that went to Overtime and got me on a hype before bedtime.

It's time to enjoy visiting Workspaces all around the world. Our hostess Julia has the info HERE:

My desk: click the photo to enlarge.

Was wanting to work with some new Stamps, it seems my card/tag making involves everything but Stamping.  Layers, texture, color, prints,  but no stamping, so my new Mojo will focus on a change up.
Wish me luck!
Here's the card I made for my nieces' little girl, Landry.

Short and sweet tonight,
Thanks for visiting, I'll be running late with visits this week, but will try to get to most of you.

WOYWW #402

Welcome to our Wednesday gathering of What's On Your Workdesk, hosted by Julia. You can play along by visiting her blog STAMPING GROUND.

It's the wee hours of Wednesday here, a hungry cat awakened me. We celebrated most of the day yesterday as Valentine's Day here in the states.
Boxes of candy, cards and while he was in town I had a cherry turnover and some great flavored coffee.

This is one of his garden heART creations. He's been out in his 40/50 degree shop creating.
We went to lunch in a nearby town and later to a little bar south of here for a few beers and shrimp.
Everywhere is overwhelmed with friends/family out and about, but this year more so than others as our snow is gone, temps are really warm  and it's fun to get out and see people. Standing room only if you arrive late. Late for us is 8pm !  We go early so get good seats at the bar to watch Wheel of Fortune or our favorite college team play basketball.

My desk
I had plans of making flowers, so maybe will get to that later today.
A couple of Valentines for my Sisters
And one for my brother's little girl, who always sends me a Thank You...I bought, yes bought at a store Valentines for Sons, Dil's, grandkids.. just because I saw unusual, inexpensive fun cards for them this year. Some times the verse inside is necessary. This was the year for that. I refuse to pay $4, 5, 6, 7, 8 $  for cards, most throw them away anyway.

Thanks for visiting, have a fun day. I'm off to visit.

Two New Ideas

Good Morning, hope you have fun plans for today. Our Iowa weather has taken a turn on warming up for a few days. Almost 50 degrees, and a huge full moon last night.

I  saw a cute fish card in the store, but priced at $7 I decided to put it back in its slot. Two brother in laws do a LOT of fishing so not having a die fish, I came up with the idea of using 2 Spellbinder leaves. Here's how it turned out.

I personally like layers and more depth, but when mailing the postage sky rockets.  So tried to be more simple.

I used the bottom part of an embossing folder for the measuring design and distress inks. The sentiment of Happy February Birthday was placed inside.

Then I also saw a cute little rosette in the shape of a heart. So I checked YouTube, my favorite place to find some ideas. The first one was from scrap paper (dark red) but the paper was flimsy but the other one was a bit easier.

The template is 6 inches, free hand and folded over to make 12 in. paper to score every 1/4 inch. Then pleat and glue to the small circle.
I used this link: Heart Rosette mainly because she also shows using Spellbinders borders to finish off the edge. I don't have these but I thought it was a cute idea.  There a several other videos  to get ideas.

Enjoy a fun weekend.

WOYWW #401

Welcome, glad you stopped by. It is another Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday,  Our hostess Julia has all the info on her blog if you are new to this. You can visit  HERE  for the details.

My desk is the start of a New Baby Girl card for my niece in MPLS.  She has 2 sons and now Landry has joined the family in a big weigh 8lbs 2oz. All are doing well. More Valentines will be done later today. I know I'll be home, as I think I've a stomach flu.  Yuck.  And Iowa's winter has snow, cold and winds in the forecast.

In the post below this one is my STUDIO MAKEOVER , you may be able to just scroll down,  remember for real details to enlarge the photos.  I have been enjoying it.  Made it an  around the wall format, and cleared out the middle, furniture.  This use to be a guest bedroom, but I took it over and moved the bed to the small area where my sewing machine/etc was.  Space  is 22 x 11, I am fortunate and thankful.
If interested in my ATC exchange that arrived,  just go to "Older Post" and it should be the next  in line. Some gorgeous pieces of Art in our swap.

Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful week.

STUDIO UPDATES

A warm and cherry Welcome:

I had extra time when we had a snow storm and this old body was up to moving, sorting and rearranging my downstairs, crafty space.  I'd shown using the sliders in my post HERE and the disarray I had created with too much clutter between work stations.  Area is 22x11, it was a bedroom that I took over and moved the bed to the sewing area. A much smaller space.

I moved 1 bookcase where the big hutch of fabric was sitting and another 2 piece set of chests upstairs, so that gave me a free wall to place the hutch  and open up the room somewhat.

This is the start of my space on the west wall.  This little wooden card table is kind of a cutting space next to the sewing machine. To the right is part of a sofa, where kids sleep, part of the family room down here.

by the large picture is my regular sewing machine, a small table with a machine I use for paper stitching, and will use for paint, watercolor, gesso etc

Underneath this table is good storage for all those items.

This is another table from my mothers cleanout, it has a metal top, one drawer and 2 pullout leaves on each end.  I will use this for my computer

This old chest was mine as a little girl, now my storage for flowers, leaves, tassels, misc. The top is my scoring mats, rotary cutter etc. The little garage sale shelves store buttons, the pink painted spice racks hold misc tinys.

A great way to hold my Sizzix dies, and old card display being disgarded

A really old foldable table with a bench on top for display of many items. My big kick, paper cutter, underneath many of the plastic drawer crates. Contents, rubber stamps, chipboard, clear stamps, etc.

Same table head on, bench holds lot of goodies, I HAVE to SEE things to use them, I don't like looking for things, even if they are labeled. I hung magnetic strips to hold small dies and I love this idea. The table also has many of my Sizzix, Spellbinder, and Tim Holtz, dies and embossing folders.

Rounding the corner, on the south wall is my grandmothers wall shelf, displaying wooden stamps, on top of a bookcase home to more stamps, misc,  all my tags, and a garage sale find, painted pink little chest  for storage of some glass items in the drawers.  Next to it is a way I display part of my Spellbinder dies, when I shop I always look for display pieces that might be for sale.

This table is on the east wall and the only window I have is above the wire display piece.

The table here is my main work area right be side the one above,  seen on WOYWW mostly

A little space between the desk and an open table to layout ideas  I guess

This is an old table I repainted this spring, more storage beneath.

A buffet of his dad's I repainted and store ribbon, gifts, misc, underneath I have 12x12 plastic boxes for papers, embellishments for Sympathy, Patriotic, Easter, Valentines, Spring, Fall, Children, sorted out for card or tag making.

This table was in the middle of the room and made it too close of quarters so putting it at the end, angled has given me so much more space. It has fold out leaves and has great storage underneath,  paper products in the drawers and the other side has lots of cumbersome items that just need to be hidden !   I love the little green chest on top, a real steal at the hospital gift shop. I keep a lot of my ATC items stashed in this.

The front of this table and the wall to the left of the 1st photo, the little pink cupboard holds lots of tin ware and my CD player and CD's  which are setting on top of a gutted out old TV Behind the lace  I put in a shelf and it holds more of my paper stash.

And this is where the big hutch has ended up, it holds all my fabric and felt. The end of this area is a queen bed for guests.  And at some point I'll take photos of that wall and under the steps. Surprise, Surprise.

That's about it for my studio. I have been enjoying this arrangement so much. Definitely more organized. Now if I can find time to watch the cd on the sewing machine I can get a few more things completed.   I've yet to finish the North wall which is part of the family/sleeping area.  Knowing me it will happen when I get a call someone is coming to visit!

Thanks for stopping by, and if you have any ideas or suggestions please feel free to comment.
