WOYWW # 443

Welcome to another Wednesday post. Sharing our work space via the STAMPING GROUND.   Ms Julia has all the info on her blog about playing along or visiting all around the globe.

Here is the card I finished up last week for my niece's 40th.  We had a family/friend gathering at a hotel about 130 miles from here. Was so fun. My son and his family could attend so it made it extra special on a Holiday weekend.

What a busy week it's been. Started to put up some Christmas. We have had unusual warm temps here
50's and hardly no winds, So I washed windows so when the temps drop I will have this job done.
Then I decided I'd go down the road a bit, field work is done, so I've had my eye on theses Milkweed Pods.  Plus I've a HUGE plastic bag full of them.  I think I'll paint them silver/gold and make a few ornaments.  They work well in dried arrangements and wreaths.  Plus I would bet Pinterest has ideas!
Have a few of last weeks tags to finish up and then off  to the market.  Remember to click on the photo to enlarge. It was dark when I took these and my batteries were about finished.  After I looked at these...I need to go back and add the greenery towards the top.. Will retake a photo once I finish that project.  Whew...glad I noticed
One of the little collections I've set up.  Hope to get at least 2 of my Nativity's set up by tomorrow.
I start early, as I do every room. It use to be wall pictures came down, curtains etc. No more I've cut back a lot. But I like to enjoy the festivities.
Thanks to all who visited, and also left comments. It's been a much calmer week. And Mr. Sunshine has made such a difference.  Have a blessed week.

#442 WOYWW

Welcome to our fun Wednesday snoop. Visiting other blogs to see new ideas, offer support, and keep in contact after so many years.  Julia at the STAMPING GROUND is our hostess and has all the info if you want to partake.

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day here in the states so will have a visit to Mothers, maybe a meal with her.  We all will be attending my nieces 40th birthday party Saturday, so I've been last minute making a special card that I will share next week.

My desk has been busy..making Vintage Christmas tags to sell at a local shop. Here they are assembled and have yet to reassemble, glue together and make hangers. bag and price.  I never know what to charge.  I've wanted to set up an Etsy shop but make no headway on that  as I keep thinking mailing out the items is NOT an easy job in my rural area. So I hesitate.

On the other work space I started creating a small journal. Watching videos etc trying to find out which steps are first.  Seems like a lot of details before you bind it together.
When bringing out Christmas supplies I came across a few items I forgot I had. So now I am
taking a large wallpaper sample book apart. Thought I could salvage some tags, paper, flowers and borders  at some point. Then decided it will be a project I keep for taking to mom's on a last minute notice of needing to spend time with her. It's to small a place to just sit, like to have hand sewing etc to occupy my time there. When I go to visit weekly we go for a ride, visit other residents, walk and maybe I work on her nails, eyebrows or tidy up the apt.

It's been a wild week. I've had 3 young men ( 54, 57, 64 yrs) I worked with over the years die of cancer, 2 family cousins, 2 of our towns older residents. Bitter cold and high winds makes for worsening conditions at a cemetery.  And deepest sympathy for all the families during this upcoming holiday season.  And I must make Sympathy cards. I am totally out.

Thanks to all who left comments last week. I so enjoy them. Have a wonderful week and

WOYWW #441

Welcome to another Wednesday post, just don't get to much time to post more often.  Thanks to Julia at the STAMPING GROUND for giving me MoJo !~

Spent a dreary day crafting, got a few new wreath dies via ebay and tried them out. Will be fun to make a few cards with.  So glad I got the metal shim with all the tiny parts the dies are having it makes it so simple. Then rearranged and reviewed the dies I have and made space for Christmas.

And my sister left a surprise in my husbands truck today.  She was clearing out and the old tattered doilies got to come to my space. I will have fun using them in some long awaited journal making

Besides some corks, and silver tinsel was this old red and white apron.  Would be cute for Christmas/Valentine entertaining.  We use to make aprons in 4-H  as we all used them years ago.
Sometimes I need a full sized one when I craft.  My daughter in law the COOK, wears one all the time she's in the kitchen. And they are adorable.  She's in the kitchen for hours.

Thanks for stopping by and all the great comments last week.  Didn't make as many visits as I had planned, we had 2 days of family time, his 102 year old cousin died and lots of family from far away came. So fun to see them and Celebrate a Life of that age. He was still very active. Enjoy a lovely week.

WOYWW # 440

It's another fly by Wednesday.  Very Cold  would be thoughts of another day inside, BUT the sun is finally out and I'm leaving.  Too much time inside for this past week  with terrible wind, and gloom.  It's the day we share our desks and I have been using my crafty space quite a lot. Julia at the STAMPING GROUND hosts this every week. So stop by and enjoy the fun.

Gathered up some of my Christmas crafting items, guess I don't need to buy anything.

In the process of using some circle photos on lids/bottle caps have to add tinsel/bling etc for decorations or tags.

On the other desk I am putting together some angels...I made these 2 last year and have lots more bottles, doilies, to finish up a few more. Wish me luck.

Hope you have a wonderful week.  Happy WOYWW to all of you. And Thanks to all who left comments and paid a visit last week. We changed back to regular time Sunday so darkness comes early.

WOYWW #439

Welcome, I am scheduling this, as I may gone early Wednesday.  Playing along with the Stamping Ground's  Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Anyone can join in, so just hop on over.

Last week I had a few die cuts spread out.  Here they are put together.

I made little angels from the Spellbinders dies, circle (head),  large triangle (body) heart (wings) or can use the small triangle for wings.  I had planned to do that, but stumbled across this paper and it made perfect wings. I also watched a DIY video on small paper Christmas trees, I have these 2 dies, one is a fan and one is like the tussie mussie holder  cut out and rolled up they make a paper tree.

The little gold angels to the bottom left are fabric paper with gold wired ribbon wings and a button for the face. They don't hang well, but could be used on a card or a tag.   Just ways to use dies other than what they were designed for.

Hubby is finished with the corn crop, will be cutting the stocks and preparing the fields for final plowing before the heavy snow arrives. He rents about 600 acres for farming. We had snow flurries and are still having very cold weather  wind chill today is 26 degrees and some strong winds.

Thanks for those who visited, I did not visit many, spending time with mom, Thursday as a no wind day and quite warm, so took her to a lake area and went to a coffee shop,  She was doing well with her ankle, and we had a fun day.  But now she has had 3 days of a back issue. Will find out more later today.  IF only she could remember what happens to her, it would help so much.  Memory loss is a terrible terrible thing.

WOYWW #438

Welcome,  it's another Wednesday to share our work spaces, Julia at the STAMPING GROUND is our hostess with the mostess.   You can play along, visit anyone listed toward the bottom of her post. It's fun, lots of nice people with good ideas.

My desk
a card for my sisters birthday

and a few different sized die cuts.  Can you guess what I plan to make from these?  I'll share the finished product next week.

I've also been sorting through my stash of Christmas papers, embellishments etc. So plan to have one side just for Christmas creations.  Hubby is in the corn fields for a few more days.  We have had 2 days of 45 mph winds and we have part of a tree down not too far from our house. But no farmer is complaining as it helps dry the product and so they are not getting docked in pay or having to dry it which costs lots of money for the electrical process of using the big dryers. Supper is in the crockpot, as one never knows when he'll call it quits for the night.

Thanks for stopping by, for all the nice comments last week.  May you and yours enjoy a great fall.

WOYWW # 437

Welcome, what a glorious fall week we have been blessed with.  I'd love to live somewhere, that is like this all year round.  Mid 70's, no wind and lovely sunshine.

It's another fly by Wednesday, the day a group of bloggers share their desks and projects they are enjoying time creating.  Ms. Julia is our hostess and you can find info on her blog the STAMPING GROUND.

This is the square fabric I showed a paper copy of last week,  but it is a (table cloth/shawl) with some black fringe on the edges,  The colors are so awesome, have to find a use for this.
Thank you for all the good wishes for my Mom. She is back at Assisted Living doing very well. This is a photo of her on the left and my sister who retired. Now spending the week with Baby girl Landry while her family takes a vacation.  So happy for her.
This is my desk for the week, finishing up a wedding card for Saturday's big event.
Her colors are Eggplant so I decorated the envelope
Now that's all for today, I need to get outdoors and clean up my flower beds, put hoses and other things in the garden shed.  I baked  all the squash from the garden and put it in the freezer yesterday. As well as the kale. So his garden is DONE, and I am a free woman !!!  Enjoy the things you love and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW # 436

Welcome, another Wednesday that just flew by. Time to share our desks and Ms.Julia at the STAMPING GROUND has all the WOYWW info.  It's addicting.  And I am looking for MoJo.

My one long 8 ft table is separated into 2 work spaces.
Sorted out the flower dies and have a space to start making extras.
The large paper flower display is a copy from an awesome old fabric piece I found. just love the colors.

It's been a busy/emotional week. Mother sprang her ankle so since no help was available at her assisted living she was sent to stay at the nursing home for therapy. Any thing out of her norm is upsetting as with dementia she gets very confused. Help Wanted everyplace you go. No one wants to work.

Hubby has been trying to work steadily in the fields and all we have is small amounts of rain to make a 2 day wait. We were close to done in the fields last year at this time. Hardly a dent in harvest so far this year. He did some corn removal here at the farm so the cows/calves could be put out to graze on stalks and corn..only the tiny calf can clear the electric fence and has been out and about the road way.

Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful week ahead

WOYWW #435

Good Morning,  It's another WOYWW....What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday  hosted by Julia at the STAMPING GROUND   First off, my heart goes out to all affected by by the tragedy in Las Vegas  Prayers to all with memories, injuries for loss of life with this horrific day.

My desk:

a few finds from the Used shop...wanted old sheet music to make some feathers, pieces of lace, my 1 inch "New" punch  and to the left a new deck of cards "Purple Hat Ladies"  Somehow I have a "Thing" for  Pretty or Fun Playing Cards.. I wish they kept the decks with a few missing so I would use them for the project in mind... I hate to break up a great deck for use of a few project cards.

A card for Mom to give my sister for her retirement.. yes my younger sister is retiring after 39 years of being the City Clerk of Wesley, our hometown.  Her co -workers planned a great party for her last day.
I made her a card but somewhere in the photo transfer it was eliminated...my photos would not load unless I made a delete of 8 photos and that must have been part of the issue.  I will check with her if I can retake and then share that project.

Another September birthday card
and a few others posted on a previous post HERE  if you are interested.

Thanks for visiting, and enjoy a lovely week.

Friday Fun

I have a few minutes while I enjoy a cup of  Java...I spent a lovely morning with my cousins wife yesterday,  shopping, lunch and we had "PIE" and much laughter.  Her birthday is Saturday and she gives me oddities only crafters would marvel at.

I try to always make her a Vintage card, (we both are aging to rapidly) !!   And the photo is bad..it's dreary around this area, with high humidity and fog early.

I also gave her a little thank you for always taking time to think "I could use this"  and I can, just not real quickly !  This is the top of the little corrugated  gift box

And a little fall pumpkin with embellishments from one of her drop offs.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend.

#433 WOYWW

Happy Fall,  it's the day we share our workspaces and I hope you'll enjoy the process.  Julia at the STAMPING GROUND hosts this every Wednesday.  And friendships abound from our visits will all who get involved.

I've had some free time this week, as our weather has been foggy, wet and humid. Not my idea of being out in it. And have several projects in the works. I have made 2 birthday cards, and will post later in the week as I need to deliver them this week.
Cardboard ATC's and Pumpkin shaped cards with orange paint for some fall cards, lids run thru my embossing folders, and cheap glitter ribbon from the dollar store.

These 2 tables are an "L" shape with my sewing machine to the right.  But truthfully since I set this up there is so much better lighting, I tend to use it more for all my projects. I have yet to learn all the computer functions of that new machine. And get so frustrated.
More tags using oxides and sari ribbon I have made flowers out of...will share later,
And our little Bailey wondering why I'm prowling around taking photos, he's all snuggled up in the afghan, as our mornings are really cool.

Have a wonderful week, thanks for stopping by

WOYWW #432

Welcome to the Wednesday post for What's on Your Workdesk hosted by Julia at the STAMPING GROUND.  My desk :    It's still a mess but with different things.

After 2 years I have finally put together a Halloween Album in the shape of a House. If I can get a day home, I hope to finish off the pages with some of the things on this desk.
This is a fabric table, has some of the dyed papers on it but want to stitch the crochet flower to the fabric pumpkin for a birthday gift.

I made one of these fall pumpkins from corks my sister has given me over the year, this is similar from Pinterest, as I can't find any photos of the one I made.  DIY  has instructions.
Short and sweet, we are off to the last fair of the season in Iowa...and Thursday it's making tomato juice again. The garden is still producing.

Thanks for visiting, and have a great week.

WOYWW #431

Welcome to Wednesday, the day we share our desks.  Julia at the STAMPING GROUND has hosted this and you can play along, visiting others or sharing yours.

My 2 active working spots are both a mess. So many things going on with the holiday.

I got out fall and Halloween decor for the house and papers, embellishments, etc, but haven't had time to play with them.
This area is my painting, coloring area but really nothing fun happening.

These are being sent off to my 3 little grand girls.  While visiting this July, they had 1 someone gave them and wanted more in different colors, One of anything for 3 is a battle.   Very simple, easy for them to wear and no worries of loss etc. Just ribbon with velcro.  And Velcro in the stores is terrible expensive.  Found this in the $1 store and it compares very well with the small amount I had here.  I plan to make some with flowers or metal hearts centered and attached, but wanted to make sure these would fit.

Last week I posted the pretty papers I made from Beet juice, well this is the same left over beet juice, but it got old and discolored....so I used a fabric piece and paper to make some brown tones.

I made more tomato juice this morning and have to do some zucchini bread. We had 3 older friends pass this week and all will have family visiting from away.  Thought I'd stop by with some goodies and extend our Sympathy.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy a fun week. I am sure my favorite season "FALL' has arrived. Crisp and Cool.  Thanks for all the great comments last week too.
