IT'S #130 at WOYWW

Wednesday ! ! What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...over at the Stamping Ground, created by Mrs. Dunnit.  It's a day to Peep about others Creative desks, and be snoopy, make friends and find out what more than 100 people have to show you and Ms. Julia. So pop on over and see what the excitement is all about.

Our road ditches are steep so I asked my DH if he'd cut the 3 stems of pods for me and being the GOOD man that he is he did just that,  and I at once sprayed painted them Gold, so he could see I really WAS going to use these  "Weeds" as he calls them.  They've been laying here for a week, as well as the unfinished cookie cutters.  But I started Christmas decorating and I guess that had priority.
It takes my 3 to 4 days just to do my trees. This year 3 trees had 1/2 of the lights burnt out  So another 1/2 day taking them off and restringing new.  And I have to keep at it as I simply HATE the mess of rubbermaids and things cluttering the way for daily living.

I am now pretty much done and in control of things back in order.  I decorate "everyroom" with at least 1 tree, 1 Nativity and  other accents, (greenry above the windows, collections of Vintage this and that, big red snowflakes hanging in the windows).

This is no doubt my most feminine tree, adding little glimmering lights to our spare bedroom.  Even little Bailey gets in on the action and it made him so tired.  He had to get right up on the Christmas afaghan and take his nap before big brother Baxter took it over.

Peaceful dreams my little friend.  Plans today after making my visits, will be completing the PODS!!!
I made an ATC for a Christmas exchange in my preivious post and hope to get the cookie cutter decorations done too.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your WOYWW visits and have a wonderful week.

A Merry Christmas ATC SWAP and Stamp Simply Metallics

I am hoping you are all recovered from TOO MUCH turkey yesterday!!! It was a Thanksgiving Day Holiday here in the states. And many have Friday off as well.  They call it BLACK FRIDAY. I do not participate in BLACK FRIDAY shopping.  If you do I hope you are all in one piece and got all great prices in your challenge to shop, park and drive.  Me, I've Enjoyed a quiet, creative day here at home.
Savoring some luscious flavors my sister created from our Thanksgiving Day meal. Wow..she is the best cook. Turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, relish, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, wild rice and a sweet potato casserole that was out of this world.  More like a desert.  Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream.  And she sent left overs.!!!   My 2 Sisters are Heavenly...always there, always friends.

I've always wanted to play along in an ATC swap and in November I saw that Kimberly of ArtJoyStuff  was doing having A Merry Christmas swap and I was early enough to participate.
What Fun!!!

Well today I received my ATC from Kimberly

Isn't it adorable?  The flower is so satiny soft and lovely.  THANK YOU KIMBERLY.

It is the one with the white background, and big white flower, she packaged it in the pocket with the little tag tied on the front..  a Truly Cherished Trio.

Earlier I sent her my ATC. I love the challenge of creating on a tiny space.

Some layers of snowflakes topped with a button , a paper doily topped with delicate silver ribbon, a little Graphics 45 image, red felt ribbon, and some wired gold beaded trim. At the bottom more gold trim and a little Be Merry sentiment from my stash.

I have to mention too that all of the trim on this little ATC were products I won over at

No Time To Stamp   This is a BEAUTIFUL sampler collection of METALLICS that Sharon has for sale at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store
She definitely has quality items to offer for your crafting needs.

Well, thanks for stopping by, Again Thank You Kimberly for the fun and the beautiful ATC trio.
Enjoy the weekend

IT'S WOYWW #129

It's here Wednesday.. and at Ms. Julia's STAMPING GROUND we have the chance to visit over 100 creative desks.  Somehow "LIFE" and "TIME" get in the way of making ALL the rounds.
My desk hasn't had much attention, a quick card using the Old Press letters DAD...95, as we celebrated my DH dad's 95th birthday Sunday.  WOW..he is an amazing man...still in his own apt., walks a lot each day no matter the type of weather, keeps up on current events, and really enjoys people.  I found these various sized wood pieces in a sale bin and keeping them close as I have a few little ideas for wood crafting while the garage is still a little warm but have to get the dremmel saw out and have some TIME..  otherwise mostly Christmas.

but here in the US most of us have a 4 day weekend. and today don't count unless you take it as a vacation day to travel or prepare. We need it....from all the today preparations that are happening...packing to travel to family or friends houses to enjoy tomorrow, cooking LOTS of FOOD
for the BIG meal on Thanks Giving Day, and no doubt watching football, parades, and lounging around in PJ's til midmorning!! Friday of course is "BLACK FRIDAY"...shopping at midnight, 6AM etc for some great gift or sale items. (Not me..I don't like the crowds, waiting in lines, unavailable parking, crazy drivers etc)... Saturday, and Sunday back to some normalcy...more food it you have visitors, and driving many miles if you are the visitorreturning home.  Whew...Just enjoy, travel safe and be so thankful for all we have.

Thanks for taking time to stop and visit.  Enjoy WOYWW,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING and may your BLESSINGS be MANY.

It's #128 at WOYWW

Each week I say WOW..it's Wednesday already, and that means 1 thing on my list to do is the What's On Youar Workdesk Wendesday post and photo my desk.  This comes about by Ms. Julia over at the STAMPING GROUND. I and over 100 others get involved in peeping about other peoples desks.
Yep, my husband would say "Crazy", but I won't ask any questions"

I have a few cookie cutters, I plan to make into decorations, glitter glitzed  some papers. The little plastic containers, my sister had from some babyfood her daughter left and she thought I could use   them for drawer storage with all the little things I collect.  And she was right, I just have to have         time to organize them.
I am feeling better, I have created a few things I cannot show you, but had to leave the desk and prepare some food and make a sympathy card.  We have a funeral on Thurday, and it is our Circle to serve the dinner. Wonderful family, and the mother 73 yrs died from cancer.  It's a wicked killer. We will miss her great smile and all the volunteer work she has always been involved with.
Our fall weather is still wonderful, no much needed rain in the forcast.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful WOYWW week and enjoy the fun WOYWW visits.

It's #127 at WOYWW

Oh it's time to share Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday with all of Julia's friends at the
STAMPING GROUND

After almost 2 weeks of being under the weather, I went to replish some meds (seems funny to leave the house) and stopped at an Antique Shop only to find a few things I hope to make into Christmas Ornaments.  And I couldn't resist the Patriotic Crocheted Pot Holder.  I've been working on  a few Patriotic cards I'm getting ready to mail off as Friday is Veterans Day here in the US and with my Son, a nephew, serving and a special brother in law and father in law who are Veterans I have to say Thanks for the Sacrifices they've made so we can remain free.

Little by little I am getting back to cleaning, creating, and thinking of Christmas. Still not much of an appetite, I've lost 8 lbs so if the appetite stays at bay maybe I can keep it off when I resume using the treadmill, as I think our outside activities are coming to an end.  SNOW is the word in the weather report today.  But by Sat back into the 50's which is wonderful for our area at this time of the year.

I found a sawed off wire shelfing piece in the garage and guess what it fits on top of my paper rack perfect. The hooked on tray I also got at a used shop and made extra space. I am using this area for the CURRENT holiday stuff. Stamps, papers, stickers, etc. So now if I can keep my interest up in making SOMETHING I should be all set.  My mojo has been gone for so long, I am hoping it will come back with the SNOW and I can get back to being creative.

I apoligize for not making many visits last week. The day I felt good the computer was having problems and then blogger wasn't posting and I was to frail to persist finding out the problems.

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see what all you've been up to.  Enjoy a wonderful week ahead.

IT'S WOYWW #126

Hello Everyone. Just a quick WOYWW post today, Julia at the Stamping Ground has Wednesday set aside for anyone who loves to be creative to take a bit of a break and peep about Others creative workdesks.  Quite the fun...

I had to quickly make a little great nephew a #1 Birthday Card and thats been it
since Thursday, I've been out of commission with Bronchitis and a Sinus Infection. After spending Sat and Sun with a sore throat, I ventured to the doctor. So hoping the meds start to work as I am not a good patient. Poor way to lose weight, but thats whats happening, I could barely swallow liquids and have no appetite.

So I hope you are all in good health, eating 3 squares a day with desert and enjoying your favorite beverage and some sunshine.  Rain is forcast and no one is objecting we need it badly. Mid 40's so shouldn't be snow as yet.

I have one little picture to end with, my son sent from Halloween night, a little bumble bee:

 or two

Made my whole day a little brighter.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy WOYWW.

Fun with Primary Colors

I don't know why but whenever I see "Primary Colors" I always think of little kids. Their rooms, their books, their toys, their clothes, these colors are learning colors and they just make them happy!!  Maybe I should redecorate for more energy.

Over at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #72 it is Primary Colors. I had fun with this quick and easy card...very mailable and I can use it for either a Birthday or a Get Well card, as I haven't finished it off inside as yet.
Taken with a New Camera

Taken with my Old Camera, much better Color and Definition..Guess I'll have to do some reading up on this.

I used Marvy punches for the different shapes and a fun new embossing folder by Darice. The stamp is a garage sale find and I love it for a kids stamp, energy bound. It is a Creative Beginings product.
I colored "Mathew" with Copics and centered him amongest the colors.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful week.

One Colour

The Challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is use "One Colour"  that's a little tricky but I had fun with the elements I used.  And the Design Team there have displayed some really wonderful inspiration in a variety of ways.

I used Tim Holtz patterned papers with a little distressing on the edges and also his Alterations Die  Caged Bird., I used the Papertrey die for the ticket and also their Sentiment "Hello-- Just a Note".  Made a flower, added some brads to the cage, distressed the twine with Broken China distress ink and added a stick pin with a bead.  Pretty much all a pretty soft aqua blue.

Thanks for stopping by, if you like challenges Simon Says Stamp and Show always has some good ones every Monday.   Have a wonderful week.

A Little Shabby Chic Face

Over at Our Creative Corner "Faces"  is the Focus this week. The Design Team there has some truly inspiring designs for this Challenge.

Taken with a New Camera
Not really the True Colors, will have to do some reading up on this, I guess.

I distressed  an odd shaped mat board and used a Hero Arts stamp "Gracious Lady", colored her   with Copics. I used a Tim Holtz Flourish  diecut with a little brown trim. I truly apoligize for not  knowing where I got this verbage, but it is by Mary Anne Radmacker, "For Tomorrow--Offer        No Answers" it is stored on my computer but I cannot find it. I used a Spellbinders diecut and      distressed  the edges. I used some Vintage Lace and made a stacked flower with an old button for the center. I did add the little metal heart and an old key for some extra hardware.  I used the       Distrees Inks of Peeled Paint and Spice Marmalade throughout.

Taken  with my Old Camera
This one is really the more true colors.
Both were in taken in the same location.
Just another project for me to figure out.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

A Cute Little Recycle

I was so intrigued by  the Heatwarming Vintage  Envelope Challenge, I created this fun little bag.
It started out with this;

A kraft envelope, folding procedures, and a decorative cut at the top. I used a die cut, you could use a decorative scissors, etc.  You can get the directions from a DIY Video that Sandy has posted on her blogspot. After you have created the little bag, you can decorate it for whatever occasion. The DT has several great ideas for inspiration.

After the envelope was shaped into the little kraft bag I used distress ink on the edges, glued some vintage lace on top. I used a tiny clothes pin to hold the black spider on top.

I used the Crafty Secrets Halloween Greetings Set for the Sentiments, Ticket, and the Cute Little Images, some metal copper colored ribbon in the background.  I used a brown button, shaped some wire and a Martha Stewart Bat Punch to create the Bats Flying in a 3D effect. I layered bits of flower shapes for the flower, added a button and some bakers twine.
I'll no doubt put a few favorite candy bars inside, top it with the green shredded tissue paper, I made in our paper shredder.
This was so fun, I love the use of recyling things. And what a quick and easy project for any last minute little gifts.
I found several Challenges that this would qualify for and all of them have some great ideas for our  Halloween and the Fall Season:
Just Us Girls -- JUGS 107 3D-Template Challenge

WOW it is WOYWW #125

Good day to all of you Julia fans...it's another Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Not familiar, head over to the Stamping Ground and check out what it's all about. You won't regret it.

My working desk...no time for clean up, as I was still working on a project when I had to leave for a family get together for a belated birthday gathering for my younger sister..who if she keeps having birthdays will catch up to me. Was a fun evening with family, food and a Turtle Pie.

The Halloween items will be put away, as I think I am about finished with them. No doubt will do a few Thanksgiving Day items for November 24th. Here in the U.S. it will be our day of thanks.

The little green and pink items are envelopes, really practice sheets made into a paper bag.  All about recyling.  My next post will have a Challenge with one finished and instructions on completing it.

For today, stop by Julia's and enjoy the visiting of some other Crafty people. Our weather has been true blue fall. Spectacular !!!!  Couldn't ask for more. Have a blessed week.

I am amazed at how the week flies by each Wednesday.  Julia at the Stamping Ground  has this fun little adventure to post your creative desk so all the world can see what you've been up too on WOYWW. I have a truly busy desk. I wanted to get all the little Halloween Tags/Cards done by now but.....so didn't bother to pick up and put away as yet.

Some of these HAVE to get in the mail, as they go OUT of the USA and one never knows how long they will take to arrive at their destination.

CR84FN40 Color Challenge

I've had some time today to try to be creative. Last week  I saw this Color Challenge at
CR84FN40  and just loved the Red, Brown, Kraft combo.

There are some lovely designs the Design Team has created from these colors. All are so unique.
So hop on over, there is still time to enter.

I used a kraft cardstock and topped it with a pretty pattened paper. Die cut and embossed the red, topped it with a distressed frame, one of the tinyest doilies I had and made a layered flower from some homemade paper.  The dark brown ribbon is on top of a distressed paper doily, with a stick pin and some beads to the side. These colors were so great to work with.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful week ahead.

WOYWW and IT IS #123

First off I have to do 3 CHEERS...HIP, HIP, HOORAY,  HIP, HIP, HOORAY,  HIP,HIP,HOORAY    my DH has finished his harvest in the fields.  Has some tillage work to do and he can get back to     some normal meals and daylight hours.  With that excitement shared,

Hello Everyone, kind of a quick post today, seems I've several medical appts with Mother this week.
So my desk is pretty clean and boring.

Julia over at the Stamping Ground lets us have the fun opportunity to post a picture of
Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  So usually over 100 crafters who like to get creative ideas, peep about other peoples posted work spaces to see Creativity at its best and Productivity at its worst.

I have spent several days cleaning, rearranging and organizing crafty things. The little plastic cups were saved by mother in hopes I'd declutter her space.  I really have used many of them to organize tiny beads, etc into my drawer space. The little green journal was a 10 cent find with hopes to do a small journal. Hopefully I can get some time to do a few Halloween Cards for my grandkids.

Hope  you have time pop over to Julia's and join in the fun. Much needed rain is on its way here, and I will welcome it as I might be able to work in a few hours away with my DH.
Have a wonderful week.

OUR CREATIVE CORNER with Me as GUEST DESIGNER

Flashing Lights, Bells and Whistles, I was so excited when Our Creative Corner chose me as their Guest Designer this week.  Actually, I was a little frightened, how could I measure up to such great talent out there, but with some encouaging words "Practice, Practice, Practice" I thought what the heck, I'll try. Then I can say I    "DONE MY BEST".... and I was honored to be asked.

It was an easy Challenge... A FALL COLOR CHALLENGE and what a beautiful array of colors to work with
My card was quite fun to put together, I tend to do the Shabby, Tattered look so I distressed  the edges, added distress ink to the tattered and torn crimped cardboard, attatched it to a chocolate card stock with a piece of patterened paper scrap, added a couple of brads at the top and a piece of chocolate ric rac below the flower.  I added the sentiment "Autum Greetings".
My old olive leaves were die cut from an old wool sweater I felted.  Then I die cut the aqua flower and crimped it with my crimper, added a cajun craze center, some heavy string and an aqua button for the center.

So if you haven't done so already, please stop by the OUR CREATIVE CORNER BLOGSPOT
and enjoy what the Design Team has to inspire you with this week. Each week they give their best
to offer up some great ideas,  creativity and fun weekly Challenges.

I want to Thank Tui and Linda for their encouraging words. It was a fun experience.
Thanks for stopping by, I always love to read your comments, and enjoy a wonderful weekend.

IT'S #122 WOYWW and My New Finds

Hi Everyone, so glad you stopped by.  It is Julia's day for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday !!
Hop on over to the Stamping Ground  and see what all we do to satisfy our Peeping woes.
She always has something fun, and I have met many new people from all over the world and have enjoyed their inspiration and unique ways.

Suspense from last week is over...here are my new finds delivered and assembled!!

Fortunately this is a 2 piece unit, it is very heavy and when I saw it knew it would be ideal for all my sewing fabric.  My dear husband, picked it up and I had my nephew come to help carry it to our lower level.  The little wooden unit to the left holds most of my thread, and sewing accessories. Easy Peasy!!!

Then a friend called me, they were redoing a quaint little shop and getting rid of this. She called if  I'd be interested in this card stand. It is perfect for my Sizzix dies and some rubber stamps. Last week I had just put them on top of my cutting table in groups of 3, so now they each have a spot and I have filled the other display unit with my clear rubber stamps.  Which has given me more drawer storage.

I am a visual person, and if it is out I'll use it, I hate looking thru things and I forget what I really have if it is stashed away.  My desk...well it has been history for a week or so..piled high with things that need attention.  But never enough time in the day to get everything neat and tidy.
I did make up inventory sheets on all of this as I was organizing it, so that is up to date now too.

I am still cleaning the storage area, I eliminated 5 rubber maids full of fabric with this storage find. And I have sorted many more in hopes of having a garage sale or donating these things I truly don't have room for anymore.

Well enough of my rambling..I need to hop about and see what the world of crafters is doing.
Enjoy the fun and Have a wonderful week.  Thanks for stopping by.
