WOYWW # 451

Welcome, it's  What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...Julia the hostess with the mostess invites anyone around the world to join up, visit others desk with linky, or play along thru her blog the STAMPING GROUND.

Those of you leaving comments and visits from last week thank you.  Slowly and greatly I am enjoying Windows 10.  A new Dell hard drive is most efficient, but my external back up CLICKFREE went out of business a short time ago, so my backup 8.l will not work on W 10. So trying to find another way, emailed my son for help!!!  Need my downloads, work and excel documents.   I've downloads from a lot of DIGITAL places and can't now access them.

On to why we are here  DESKS, WORKSPACES   simple things in life we take for granted

My first try with loading photos ...worked great,    camera to here:

A little table next to my desk for creating flowers.  My desk has secret Valentines being constructed. Will share later.  Click the photos to enlarge.

This is above this area, lots of little ATC's when we were doing exchanges, something I truly miss. It gave me motivation and I loved working with the monthly theme on these little spaces.

Our little Bailey is slowly adjusting to being alone, rarely meowed, now that's his thing. He looks for his brother, stays away from where Bax laid and once a day at least he gives out a BIG Yelp, like I need you back bro.  Hubby and I  well a few tears here and there, no one greets us at the door when we come home yet, no one wakes us up meowing for more food, no one jumps up for scratching the ears,   But we have nicer weather, missed heavy snows, had rain, winds are gone and now on a warm up 40 maybe later today

Wishing you and yours well, thanks for visiting, I'll be around later, have to visit mother and fix a none working phone there.

WOYWW #450

Hi everyone. Wish me luck, my main computer is having issues "driver updates needed" Windows 8.1 and they want me to update to W10.  but...so I'm trying this on a laptop which is Windows 10 and I don't use this much unless we travel. Now having issues loading photos.
Headache #3 and it's only 10 AM. Will schedule this as I surely don't know if it will be available Wednesday for posting  High winds again  was a -32 with wind chills and a warm up scheduled for late Wednesday.

Visit HERE for the hostess blog on visiting more or playing along.  As it is a Wednesday  for visiting.

That worked but so far not photos from my camera.
Used my phone for same photos..yeah ! .a collection of OLD 1922 and forward Valentines I bought at an auction.

Working with this mini journal, made from a junior mint box, some pretty papers for the cover, Martha's punches, and binding supplies.

A few Valentine supplies, as I was working on ideas for grand kids. A few pages I stamped with a Bird theme on my desk for the journal.  When I went to bind them I totally spaced off the fact that I needed to do the back side also, so now the bird images and the words are now not in order. Oh well, my 1st try at this paper journal thing.  I have done a fabric one a few years back for my sister's 40th Anniversay and it seems much simpler.

Will play with Windows 10 as I guess I have no choice. Any suggestions on home computer ?  update to 10 or buy a new system?  using Windows 8.1  as camera, printers are compatible.  I really don't have a lot of cash to shell out for new equipment again. Thanks for bearing with me.

Have a wonderful week   Hope to visit if things here are all working.

Just minutes after I scheduled this  we lost our special cat Baxter...a post  Here  on our loss

Heart Break

It was a total shock, and to witness what happened was hard. Our 9 year old cat "Baxter" died today on our kitchen floor.

                                                       "Baxter"   21 lbs.

These two were barn siblings we brought home in June  nine years ago for our own barn cats, but they were so small I wanted to get them use to us, the area and our barn. So each morning my hubby would bring them from that nice little barn storage room to the house. Littered trained, and lovable.  At 5/6 pm at night he'd tack them back for the night, leave a light on and repeat the procedure until an October stormy night. He fell asleep in his chair from being out harvesting until the rains came. I could not reach the barn lights and was not going to take them out to the barn alone. So I woke up and asked if he would take them to their barn room, grumbling he said" I am not going to do this every night...let them live in the house."  And they did.  Spoiled and Lovable they've been ever since.

Brother "Bailey"  11 lbs  on the bottom.  Snuggled up on a cold night. They were good brothers. Played hid n seek, batted a little cotton shiny ball around together, and made sure they each had lap time with both of us.

RIP dear one. I'll be watching for that brightest star above.

WOYWW #449

Good day to You, it's the wee hours of the morning here, but I am up and remembered. Last week I spaced Wednesday off until I seen a post, went to do a photo and join in late, but my hubby wanted to leave for the city. It was a fun day, and found some good sales.. The rest of the week was much of the same, errands, visiting mom and my sisters MIL (alone for the winter as they left for warmer climates).
Sharing my desk with the WOYWW group today, info is HERE with our hostess Ms Julia

A far away shot, it's a mess. got out Valentines here and decor for the rest of the house back in order. Christmas was put away yesterday. Have to tidy up a bit with vacuuming and my favorite "dusting"upstairs.  Enjoying 2 days of 35 degree temps, so I even opened up the windows while I cleaned the house.  A 50 degree turn around, from minus 25 . Seems like spring with no winds,  but Thursday is a winter storm watch 8 inches of snow and possible ice forecast with 50 mph winds.  He got the generator ready just in case electric goes out. Here if it does we also have no water. So finger crossed.

Have a wonderful week, hope you get to do your favorite crafting and have time to enjoy other things you love.

WOYWW # 447

Welcome, hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and can enjoy the up coming New Year's celebration.  We are having below 0 temps.  But no wind today, I think it is -15, a little warmer than yesterdays -22.  It's another Wednesday with sharing our work spaces and Julia has more info on her blog HERE

This is me ready to share some fried ice cream with my hubby. He took me out for my birthday the 18th to a new Mexican restaurant close by. It was so good. I don't feel any older.
This is one of the little angels I had fun using for cards and tags this year. This is on a wood piece I've had for a long time. Several came in a box and never had a use for them  until now.
My desk, cleared of Christmas and ready to be loaded up for Valentine designs.
Our neighbors had a baby girl born  in November and I made this card to take over with a little gift and some Christmas gifts.  Just an adorable little family  Garrett, Mattie Mae, and Dottie Lynn.

Thanks to all who visited and left such nice comments last week.

WOYWW #446

Welcome !  It's another fly by Wednesday,  sharing our work spaces, visit Julia for details HERE and have your tour.  We are all in the countdown to Christmas. We've had super weather,  (40/50 degrees) which is about to take a nose dive. Very Cold temps and wetness, could be rain, could be snow, could be a mistaken forecast. Just hope it all clears before travelers have to be on the road to visit family.

I really cleared out most of my Christmas supplies from this work area. A little bag of big earrings, I purchased for 50 cents at a garage sale. A Seth Apter die, I found on sale and little oddities of things to use for package toppers.

Wishing You and Yours a Joyous Christmas. Leaving you with the Nativity my husband gave to me when we were first married.  It IS the Reason for Christmas, enjoy your way of celebrating.

Merry Christmas !

WOYWW #445

Good Morning fellow deskers,  This will be short and quick.  We are lucky to have electricity. with 45/50 mph winds and a slight mist.  And I have been dealing with what I think is "Flu".. must be 2 kinds mixed into one event.  A hot soak in the tub is next. And then try to RE-Hydrate.

A couple of the tags that went to a favorite little shop

 One of the note cards
And my desk, making string tags for my grand daughters.  Packages to mail

Thanks for the visit, and all the great comments last week.  We left the area for grandson's swim meet so was not good at visiting last week. Hope to do better today.

You can check our our hostess Julia at the STAMPING GROUND to check out other desks or get involved with joining in.

WOYWW #444

Hello dear blogging friends.  Another Wednesday to share our desks. Julia at the STAMPING GROUND will let you play along. Just hop over to her blog and you can meet new friends from all over the world and if you want share your crafty space.

It's been a whirlwind here. Temps went from 65 degrees to 32 within hours, 45 MPH winds and light snow. So I've been fuming over mailing packages to my sons family in Virginia  The cost is utterly ridiculous.  So I decided to schedule my post and take a break.

I did get a few pods painted the end of last week still had warm temps. Now to make a few ornaments.

And I took time to clean up, put away and start over.
Made a tag for my son's December birthday on the 7th.
A tiny little note card 3x3 from one of those angels I made earlier.

I will post more of my Small and Large Tags, Cards  in another post in a few days.  I will have a local Salon and a fun Vintage Shop display them and maybe sell a few.

Wishing you a great week, and lots of MoJo,  It's a busy time of the year.  Thanks to all who visited last week and took time to leave a message.

WOYWW # 443

Welcome to another Wednesday post. Sharing our work space via the STAMPING GROUND.   Ms Julia has all the info on her blog about playing along or visiting all around the globe.

Here is the card I finished up last week for my niece's 40th.  We had a family/friend gathering at a hotel about 130 miles from here. Was so fun. My son and his family could attend so it made it extra special on a Holiday weekend.

What a busy week it's been. Started to put up some Christmas. We have had unusual warm temps here
50's and hardly no winds, So I washed windows so when the temps drop I will have this job done.
Then I decided I'd go down the road a bit, field work is done, so I've had my eye on theses Milkweed Pods.  Plus I've a HUGE plastic bag full of them.  I think I'll paint them silver/gold and make a few ornaments.  They work well in dried arrangements and wreaths.  Plus I would bet Pinterest has ideas!
Have a few of last weeks tags to finish up and then off  to the market.  Remember to click on the photo to enlarge. It was dark when I took these and my batteries were about finished.  After I looked at these...I need to go back and add the greenery towards the top.. Will retake a photo once I finish that project.  Whew...glad I noticed
One of the little collections I've set up.  Hope to get at least 2 of my Nativity's set up by tomorrow.
I start early, as I do every room. It use to be wall pictures came down, curtains etc. No more I've cut back a lot. But I like to enjoy the festivities.
Thanks to all who visited, and also left comments. It's been a much calmer week. And Mr. Sunshine has made such a difference.  Have a blessed week.

#442 WOYWW

Welcome to our fun Wednesday snoop. Visiting other blogs to see new ideas, offer support, and keep in contact after so many years.  Julia at the STAMPING GROUND is our hostess and has all the info if you want to partake.

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day here in the states so will have a visit to Mothers, maybe a meal with her.  We all will be attending my nieces 40th birthday party Saturday, so I've been last minute making a special card that I will share next week.

My desk has been busy..making Vintage Christmas tags to sell at a local shop. Here they are assembled and have yet to reassemble, glue together and make hangers. bag and price.  I never know what to charge.  I've wanted to set up an Etsy shop but make no headway on that  as I keep thinking mailing out the items is NOT an easy job in my rural area. So I hesitate.

On the other work space I started creating a small journal. Watching videos etc trying to find out which steps are first.  Seems like a lot of details before you bind it together.
When bringing out Christmas supplies I came across a few items I forgot I had. So now I am
taking a large wallpaper sample book apart. Thought I could salvage some tags, paper, flowers and borders  at some point. Then decided it will be a project I keep for taking to mom's on a last minute notice of needing to spend time with her. It's to small a place to just sit, like to have hand sewing etc to occupy my time there. When I go to visit weekly we go for a ride, visit other residents, walk and maybe I work on her nails, eyebrows or tidy up the apt.

It's been a wild week. I've had 3 young men ( 54, 57, 64 yrs) I worked with over the years die of cancer, 2 family cousins, 2 of our towns older residents. Bitter cold and high winds makes for worsening conditions at a cemetery.  And deepest sympathy for all the families during this upcoming holiday season.  And I must make Sympathy cards. I am totally out.

Thanks to all who left comments last week. I so enjoy them. Have a wonderful week and

WOYWW #441

Welcome to another Wednesday post, just don't get to much time to post more often.  Thanks to Julia at the STAMPING GROUND for giving me MoJo !~

Spent a dreary day crafting, got a few new wreath dies via ebay and tried them out. Will be fun to make a few cards with.  So glad I got the metal shim with all the tiny parts the dies are having it makes it so simple. Then rearranged and reviewed the dies I have and made space for Christmas.

And my sister left a surprise in my husbands truck today.  She was clearing out and the old tattered doilies got to come to my space. I will have fun using them in some long awaited journal making

Besides some corks, and silver tinsel was this old red and white apron.  Would be cute for Christmas/Valentine entertaining.  We use to make aprons in 4-H  as we all used them years ago.
Sometimes I need a full sized one when I craft.  My daughter in law the COOK, wears one all the time she's in the kitchen. And they are adorable.  She's in the kitchen for hours.

Thanks for stopping by and all the great comments last week.  Didn't make as many visits as I had planned, we had 2 days of family time, his 102 year old cousin died and lots of family from far away came. So fun to see them and Celebrate a Life of that age. He was still very active. Enjoy a lovely week.

WOYWW # 440

It's another fly by Wednesday.  Very Cold  would be thoughts of another day inside, BUT the sun is finally out and I'm leaving.  Too much time inside for this past week  with terrible wind, and gloom.  It's the day we share our desks and I have been using my crafty space quite a lot. Julia at the STAMPING GROUND hosts this every week. So stop by and enjoy the fun.

Gathered up some of my Christmas crafting items, guess I don't need to buy anything.

In the process of using some circle photos on lids/bottle caps have to add tinsel/bling etc for decorations or tags.

On the other desk I am putting together some angels...I made these 2 last year and have lots more bottles, doilies, to finish up a few more. Wish me luck.

Hope you have a wonderful week.  Happy WOYWW to all of you. And Thanks to all who left comments and paid a visit last week. We changed back to regular time Sunday so darkness comes early.

WOYWW #439

Welcome, I am scheduling this, as I may gone early Wednesday.  Playing along with the Stamping Ground's  Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Anyone can join in, so just hop on over.

Last week I had a few die cuts spread out.  Here they are put together.

I made little angels from the Spellbinders dies, circle (head),  large triangle (body) heart (wings) or can use the small triangle for wings.  I had planned to do that, but stumbled across this paper and it made perfect wings. I also watched a DIY video on small paper Christmas trees, I have these 2 dies, one is a fan and one is like the tussie mussie holder  cut out and rolled up they make a paper tree.

The little gold angels to the bottom left are fabric paper with gold wired ribbon wings and a button for the face. They don't hang well, but could be used on a card or a tag.   Just ways to use dies other than what they were designed for.

Hubby is finished with the corn crop, will be cutting the stocks and preparing the fields for final plowing before the heavy snow arrives. He rents about 600 acres for farming. We had snow flurries and are still having very cold weather  wind chill today is 26 degrees and some strong winds.

Thanks for those who visited, I did not visit many, spending time with mom, Thursday as a no wind day and quite warm, so took her to a lake area and went to a coffee shop,  She was doing well with her ankle, and we had a fun day.  But now she has had 3 days of a back issue. Will find out more later today.  IF only she could remember what happens to her, it would help so much.  Memory loss is a terrible terrible thing.
