One Pink Journals.

It's been a wild 8 days in our life.  Derecho like a inland hurricane tore up the southern part of our State coming from Nebraska and heading all the way to Indiana.   My son lives in the 2nd largest city in Iowa and Cedar Rapids is devastated. More than 50 % of 100 year old trees are uprooted and being cut up and hauled somewhere.  Over 50,000 homes have been lost to roof damages and water and my son's was one of them.  But they are safe and after 5 days of no electricity, gas, hotels, limited food, they will be moving into a home a few doors down. A new construction area and no established trees.

My 2 journals were made in different ways but with somewhat the same paper pads.

WOYWW #582

Welcome, it's the day we share our work spaces..Julia, our hostess has all the updates here:https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/    I had a BIG surprise at 5 A.M. when I wanted to post this.
Blogger's  NEW UPDATE   (sure it will be great) but to an OLDIE, it's a matter of RE LEARNING and I am a little sick of  RE LEARNING everything  I do with technology.   Microsoft, Photos, Camera, Android, Cloud, One Drive, the list goes on and on.         RANT OVER !

My desk: well it's not available. Must take another day to be able to post photos I just took ??????

Here is a bench my hubby made from his old headboard. He found it in a storage shed. And he repainted alittle statue.

I took these 2 days ago and they were available.  Here he is in one of the tallest corn fields I've seen in years.  Fields are all just beautiful dark greens for miles and miles (includes bean fields) I've not taken photos of any as yet.
Well what do you know....found my 3 photos from this mornings photo shoot !!!!  Buried in a file of 2007
Last post I was working on 1 Journal....I ended up making 2 with different inside papers, Still have to finish the cover.  I will do more photos on these in another post later this week.  Had stitching  I wanted to do, but my needle broke and we haven't went to the city in a while, so will add to my list.
Some tags I made
And the DESK....more small journal fun

Wishing you all a good week. Thanks to those who made comments last week. Stay Safe.

WOYWW #581

Good Morning..running a little late and posting issues !  What's new?  Decisions here on when the children go back to school, part time with online other days seems to be the best.
AND Now MASKS for sure for most of us, almost mandatory most places now.  Our area has been pretty good. So maybe I'll be making a few more of them, just to co ordinate with my clothes. I am content to be at home.
Today we share our desks, Ms Julia has hosted this a long time and we enjoy seeing what the other parts of the world are doing.  HERE:will get you more info.

My desk:
Making a fun little journal, the big dictionary is my weight for glue drying.  It will be of paper and fabric and hopefully I can share it finished next week. Was fun as I had supplies available and handy.
I ordered a few things online !!!!!    A few from 5 different places !  UPS/USPO getting to know the country roads.   These are mostly small floral stamps and a few oddities.  I was able to get free shipping on most orders so that always makes me feel great.

Have a wonderful week. Thanks for all the comments on last weeks post. Stay Safe.

WOYWW #580

Welcome,  it's the day we share our workspace.  Ms Julia our hostess has the info HERE,If you have extra time you can visit other deskers from all over the world. It's been in process for a long time. Who knows what you will learn.

A new addition to my space, found it at an auction several years ago and when I cleaned out the garden shed ...I decided I could use the space. So I've been rearranging (it's a way of crafting) My DH power washed it and I won't paint anything with all the cubbies, so it's staying "rustic"   It will be filled so yo won't see much of it anyway.

Then I did some Echo  Dying of different types of papers from mother's funeral flowers.  Mostly large leaves.
The basic tools...large roaster pan, rusty nails/chain etc, boards to hold down the papers, a heavy rock for the very top .  I tied all the layers with twine, added boiling water/vinegar/alum let it bake in the oven about 45 minutes   I let it set overnight
Dried some on an old screen

Was a fun project, as our weather was perfect for outdoor play.
A few volunteer flowers, I enjoyed while working outdoors.
Wishing you a great week, staying safe and enjoying "little things".

WOYWW #578

Good Morning !~ It is 3:15 AM our time, woke up at 2AM and thought of all of you. IT's WOYWW, Julia hosting on her blog HERE,  Nothing has been working in the way of electronics here,  I had to create new passwords, posted comments on a few of your blogs and I don't think they were accepted.   So if you get two, I cannot see the first.  I couldn't work with any of my photos either  so will try again .
 Even my phone is wacko.

My desk

Piano rolls from an online auction.. I only wanted 1 or 2rolls but my bids weren't quick enough ....then I ended up with a box of several.  Will use a few for journal papers.

Then resorted to cutting flowers and making some masterboards, which I must not have taken photos of, or they are lost in the Cloud Photo files !!!  Heaven help me.

Our previous week was full of families visiting, paper work, and visiting the cemetery a few times to water moms fresh flowers, and the 2 of us taking drives on roads in the country near some rivers. Just to readjust our minds I guess.  Camp grounds were filling up with the July 4th holiday so near. Very hot and humid here. And we have smoke from Africa !! NOW how that's possible ?and never in my lifetime happened before amazes me.

Most events are cancelled, but food to go so organizations can make some money and survive.  Our state has opened up most things with social distancing and your choice to wear or not a mask of your choosing. I even made a few and better stitching than the one I bought from a well known fabric store. ! !

Thank you all so much for your comments 2 weeks ago. I am hoping to get to some normalcy soon.

A Birthday Zine

Welcome, hope you are doing well. Finding fun things to do, staying away from media posts.

My grand daughter had a 15th birthday. With this Pandemic, I hadn't been out so I made her a Zine.

I am not happy with my new photo. The photos are not crispy clear, it's too big for a purse slot and it automatically types in words when you have 3 letters selected when texting and the texting keys are very narrow so lots of errors.  Time Consuming.  I'll have to resurect my camera.

I numbered the pages, just in case she opens up and can put it back together. !!! Zines are funny that way.

Some little tags for her to give, use as  bookmarks, hang on her bulliten board.

Refreshed I Hope

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by. It's been awhile since I've posted. Had to regroup, refresh my mind and find some peace.

It was my husband's birthday and I could not find an appropiate card, the verse, the photo and the price.....and limited shopping nothing seemed reasonable and no trips to the city.  So I finally put the idea together and came up with this.  John Deere colors

Large Buttons Top and Bottom    2"  green and yellow cording
 Front side of the circle
  Reverse side of the circles

He liked it !   I enjoyed making it. It was a quiet day, Memorial day, with visits to cemetaries, reminising times past for both of us with our family.  Sunshine and Peaceful moments.

Stay safe,
