WOYWW # 477

Welcome, so much has happened since last week.  Today you can visit creative spaces as it is Wednesday and hostess Julia has info HERE  on her blog.

YouTube, online reading on ONE DRIVE  has maybe helped me with my photo issues  YEAH!!

My desk for this week :

Some new stamps and coloring using copics.  I find they work the best on all types of paper. These were really practice papers for the envelopes below.

Had to make a sympathy card. My DH friend who died unexpectedly and we traveled to Cedar Rapids for the funeral Saturday.  Staying with Son and family overnight was a delight we needed . The services were so very nice. Some clergy can make you feel so good a about "Celebrating the Life Lived"
This was a quick birthday card before we left  for another blogging friend. The papers were so pretty I just embellished with a flower in front and mailed it before we left.   I really NEED to make cards and create a stash, instead of this last minute stuff.

On Thursday Three towns were hit by tornadoes just south of us 70 miles....one town Marshalltown had major damages to the downtown area,  (a niece and friends live there)  the next area wiped out 3 large production buildings of Vermeer Mfg near Pella  my brother only lives 20 miles from here and the 3rd went thru a new housing area in Bondurant.  Sometimes where my grand daughter plays softball.  There were 27 funnel clouds reported by CNN in Iowa that day.  And no reported deaths.
And all family and friends were spared damages.  Clean up, clearing downed trees and repairing poles for much needed electricity continues.

May you all have a wonderful week, Thanks to all who visited, with all the chaos after last weeks posting I had no extra time to visit.  I apologize  and will try to do better this week.

WOYWW #476

Good Morning to all,  it's is a beautiful sunny day here.  Hoping I can find the photos, one of my problems when importing is,  I try to change the name of the folder and it won't accept it. One Drive? just puts it where ever . Will have to YouTube it I guess.

Playing along with our hostess Julia at the STAMPING GROUND  here

Located it in folder 2007-05 ????? But this is it.  Bits and pieces, playing with long lost Zutter for a journal binding I hope...

Spent a few days sorting in the crafty space, taking a break for the almost done storage space which has much bigger pieces to deal with.   Sorting a box of old jewelry, bits and bobs

I had saved candy tins and they were a great help in this sorting ...

Truly I don't think I will live long enough to work with even 1/2 of this stuff.  Crazy, Crazy

Have a wonderful week, Thanks to all who stopped to visit. I have a couple days free this week so hope to make the rounds.

WOYWW #475

Welcome...hope you are having a fantastic week. We are until tomorrow ! It's sharing the desk today with our hostess Julia having all the info HERE

Keeping fingers crossed for the photo:

Yeah:  I just organized this as my flower making table...dies, and a few stamps

I had one other, but not finding it...will share it next week with another I guess.  Don't know why I can get one and not the other were downloaded at the same time and I saw it.  ..
I' ve really accomplished a lot with my storage clean out.
The upstairs is a mess from  taking a lot up there and not had time to sort it or tag it for sale prices. We donated 2 loads to the Exceptional Opportunities resale shop.

I did have a post on my trip to Virginia  and my grand daughters fun times if you are interested.  HERE
I'm so thankful the Thailand rescue went so well. What an ordeal. Hoping all can be transitioned back to a normal life.
Have a great week. And happy WOYWW.

Most every town in Iowa will have somewhat the same things, most people wearing Red, White, & Blue
When I grew up it was Family gatherings, lots of photos, picnics at the lake for the farm and fireworks in our back yard.  Now with everyone scattered all over the country, most of the family gatherings are not happening. photos are digital on cameras, and fireworks is regulated by the state, and or towns for safety reasons. Not many memories to be made.

A deer in one of his fields
 Water still an issue

South of us this past Saturday towns were hit with 7 to 10 inches of rain, flash floods, one man killed and cars washed away, and many totaled out from deep water. Home basements filled with water. Most of this is not covered by insurance so many will have to apply and use disaster funds.  Now mosquito's are abundant.
Hubby and I went to Clear Lake one day after shopping in the nearby town, we toured the City Gardens, such a beautiful place, a small stream and volunteers do so much to keep it beautiful
Over load of photos

Would be fun to live in the condo's in the background.

Above is a picnic table with a built in planter full of succulents.

Have had some fun days away, it helps my DH to get away from the mess we have in the fields.
Have a wonderful week, enjoy WOYWW,   I  hope to visit most later today I'll be back home.

WOYWW #473

Welcome, so happy to be able to post today. It's our day of sharing of the creative spaces. Ms Julia at the STAMPING GROUND is our hostess:  I have had some creative time. BUT once again I was lucky to be able to post these photos. Some are totally lost on this Windows 10 no doubt here but it took me 2 hours to find these.  Downloaded from my phone...and One Drive is Full so there were here there and everywhere.

My Desk:
I was working with tea bags, dried them, carefully took them apart and gave the tea to the garden. I've saved these for awhile. Hoping to add stamping to them and use in a few projects.

We have had a mess here; Since last week no doubt over 10 inches of rain. This came on Wednesday night. We drove out to his fields. He has rain gauges on each property. They all were about the same over 5 inches.  And it has rained more each day up until Tuesday.
This was on our way to a smaller town and several roads were closed for us to get there.   These 2 photos are fields of corn that was about knee high.  I doubt that this field will produce.

Tuesday we had humidity and sunshine and some ponds are draining to the streams/rivers causing dangerous flooding in many places. But we are blessed. We never lost electricity, there was not much wind. Nor did we have flooding in our basement.  Many in town had 3 feet and lost furnaces./air conditioning/ washer/dryers,carpet and all contents at that level. Some towns have a no water usage, as it has been contaminated, so water has been brought in.

I must go, we have someone here to install a new water heater.  Thank You for stopping by

WOYWW #472

Welcome to our Wednesday's sharing of the desks...Julia at the Stamping Ground
has all the info on linking up and visiting others who share by way of Mr. Linky.

My desk

Making some Birthday cards for a friends shop and seems like a long process.
some days it's not what the mind is ready for.
Some of my free time this week I was happy making some master boards, using various papers and inks.  (gesso, acrylics, oxides) And playing with a new Gelli plate.   I did  stamp new and unused stamps to plain paper for future use and have misplaced them...Imagine that.

Weather here has been windy, wet and wonky.  Completely different 3 miles away. Weird colors and lots of fog. So inside I've stayed and I am making myself sort stuff throughout this house. A box a day.  So today we took 5 boxes to the drop off donation place. I am pretending I am moving !!!!! ... by way of a small truck.  The good thing was my husband helped load and  took me out for some Summer Shanty and a tenderloin.  He's glad to see it go.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy a lovely weekend.

WOYWW # 471

Good Morning, and outside that's what it is. After storms and near by towns flooded over a 3 day period of rain, we now have decent temperatures, sunshine and no wind...A little bit of heaven.

But here at the Windows 10 ....2 hrs of a mess trying to find photos.  Reloaded twice. then automation took over to decide to BACK UP the System.. It has been set to do this at 2 A.M.  so I went to my laptop..same issue..  I shut everything off, unplugged the router and now found the 3 photos I just downloaded in a file labeled 2007-05.    All seems very ODD to me

I was trying to play along with our What's on your work desk Wednesday, hosted by Julia on her blog here  at STAMPING GROUND  It's where to visit on Wednesday.

....here's the desk:

I made a few covers for some small journals..played with making a signature, and gathered all my small flower stamps. Thinking one theme will be flowers  and another little journal with  birds. Will watch a few more You Tubes on preparing the pages... 2 tea bags front and center.
Which drew me to photo the table beside my desk. The beige old box on top of the 3 drawer file holds papers from tea bags I dried and took apart.   other little goodies were garage sale items at 50 cents each. Couldn't resist  4 older aged books, a little wooden 3 drawer shelf (hope to repaint) and three wooden spool like things I might wrap lace around.

Hoping you all have a wonderful day, thanks for visiting.  I'm off to enjoy breakfast with my hubby. Monday it was 15 years ago we met at our local Pub, while I was waiting for a take out chicken supper.  So thankful for his support and patience this past year.

WOYWW #470

Welcome,  so happy to partake this week. Just seems Wednesday always arrives so quickly.  I missed the big ATC posts, but will catch up this week.  I was watching grandkids in Cedar Rapids, about a 3 hr drive, while their parents were away. IT's the day we share our desks and you can visit Here.  Can anyone help me with this notice ????

Think I am getting too old for all the updates Google/ Microsoft want me to use.
These are the ones I have received as of today's mail.
I have received the sweetest ATC's

 From Annie/Wipso  and Jo/Twiglet
 From Jan/ Lunch Lady Jan
From Shaz

Just received and had issues with transferring to Photos so don't have one alone. From Lindart  the ATC exchange I was her next person, The 2 little girls in orange  are the ATC card...and I liked the idea of coloring...never gave it a thought.

THANK YOU to ALL   I will truly enjoy and treasure each one.  Loving the friendship and inspiration I receive from all of You.

The one of my desk was too blurry to show...I get so disgusted with Windows Ten Photo Display ONE DRIVE IS FULL....so who cares I didn't want to use it anyway.
Why can't they just let stuff alone ?  Another project to get straightened out. Geez.

Have a wonderful week
Sylvia

WOYWW 468 9th Anniversary Celebration

Welcome, I am glad to be back in time to celebrate our ATC exchange and the 9th Anniversary of WOYWW.  Thanks to Julia and her blog HERE.  It's sharing of the workspaces on Wednesdays.
It keeps me motivated. I've made lots of friends thru blog world. And enjoyed the wonderful variety of people, places and things.   Thanks to All of You.

My desk is clean....small gathering of patterned cardboard/packaging to cut into ATC backing/Tags.

Our weather is cool and rainy so this was another off my list...arranging scrap paper by colors, and embellishments by theme.  They were scattered everywhere and now close by and organized.

PS;;; I forgot it was Wednesday...just made 10 jars of rhubarb jam, a rhubarb crisp, sauce and a rhubarb pie cake

ATC's  will be off in the mail  on Thursday    Happy day

Home Again

Welcome, thanks for stopping by.  I've been missing in action. But oh the fun times I've had.  I went to Virginia to visit my son and his family for 5 days.

My oldest grand daughter made her 1st Communion on Mother's Day and I didn't want to miss it.
She was like a little bride. So excited, so beautiful and so full of love.

Sky is in the top row at the left end.
The little 3 yr old never wants a photo...

Flowers were beautiful and it was a great day for being outside.  But it seems humid there when I visit.
A gift Sky made for me..Stitching and I now have it framed. It means so much to have the children's art and have them call .  It's hard for me many times to miss so much of their daily events.
The school carnival on Friday night, more enjoyment outside

Meeting the school bus

Playing cards and I caught her for a photo !!!!
Wall of Swimming awards for the 2 oldest girls. They swim all year round

We saw the brightest rainbow one late afternoon, so many awes....my son grilled stuffed salmon for Mother's day, adorned the table with 6 red roses for Helen and I to share. More cards and gifts. We had pizza, after Kumon reading/math one night. Lots of hugs and laughter and a few big tears when it came time to say good bye.
It will be my last trip there, as they will be moving in August to the very North East.  So will be anxious for my next trip. Just very thankful for this time together.
